And check this, in 2019, I was the recipient of the "Community Over Everything Award" presented by Jessie Reyez and The Remix Project (when Annalie was ED). I was gifted the plaque alongside Randell Adjei of RISE at the graduation that year. Very small world. M, you are doing a phenomenal job with this podcast. I've been a journalist for nearly 15 years and I gotta say that your interview/research skills are what make the experience memorable for viewers. Keep it up!
Amazing conversation, incredible knowledge. I come from a small town outside Toronto, and I struggle with finding anyone to build a team with besides production. But to see your trio’s dynamic provides me reassurance and I’m extremely grateful to be able to listen to this. Gonna keep applying my work ethic into my art! I love Jessie..have been following her since Figures. I do wish I heard her speak more. Almost an hour in and I feel like I haven't really heard her speak..and then she does get interrupted quite a few times...like just let her talk lol. Also, not many questions directed at her as I thought there would be for a 2 hour + podcast. Jessie has so much wisdom and knowledge to share and I thought that was going to represented as the title states "Artist gets real"...not ex-manager makes it mostly about himself. It's just what I observed...I had hoped that Jessie wasn't so much in the back.
