I swear, for a moment I thought I was looking at an old video of my channel, because the arranging style is just so “me”, hahaha. The narrative structure, the intricate orchestration, and all the small embellishments in the secondary melodies. This is by far one of the most impressive arrangements I have seen for a long time. Definitely your best work until today, Alexis!
Thank you Animenz! This arrangement literally included everything I have learned so far since I began my anime piano journey. I would also like to thank you for all your arrangements, they gave me huge inspirations and motivations to create my own piano covers of anime music. I am extremely glad that you like this arrangement. With your recognition, all the efforts that I made definitely paid off. I will keep doing my best!
@@AlexisLinAnimePianoWorks currently I'm finishing up on learning the "Sparkle" cover animenz did...I'm playing it kind of poorly haha I think this is the next piece I'm gonna take on! This is awesome and I've been looking for a vivy cover that was high quality and this is just fantastic!
Holy... I literally feel like I'm watching Animenz. Absolutely love the "arcs" you incorporated in the song, and how well you expressed the story behind every individual part of the song in the description. I personally didn't resonate all that much with the anime at first, but reading about your connection to it and hearing the passion in your playing, I can't help but stare in awe while looping this arrangement again and again. It truly feels like you sang with all your heart for this one.
Thank you for your comment. I am really glad that audiences like you can truly understand my emotions while arranging this piece. All the efforts were worth it. Good luck with your upload as well!
Oh man.... This is CRAZYY GOOD. Seriously, as the others have said, I find the structuring and story telling so fantastic in this one. Each section is unique and makes sense. The build up is just the perfect length and as it all builds up to the section at 5:47 with the silence and then the melody played in 3 octaves... fantastic. Absolutely going into my playlist of all time anime piano greats. Love the Animenz influence (and as always huge fan of upwards LH glisses like 5:50)
Thank you Yeh. I have to apologize that I reply to my RUclips video comments much less frequently than other anime pianists due to my limited spare time in college. But I guarantee that I carefully read all of them. I would like to thank you for your support along the way. As I mentioned in my video description, this anime has caused me strong emotional impact, and that’s why I decided to create a storytelling type of arrangement. I basically cumulated all the techniques and knowledge I have learnt so far in this arrangement and I am glad it turned out well. And yes, this arrangement contains much Animenz influence as well, for example, I imitated the big jumps from Kawaki wo Ameku at 4:11. Animenz is one of the pioneers of anime piano after all.
Holy... actual goosebumps at the grace part... I haven't even watched the anime yet but watching this video felt like a journey. So many different emotions, so beautifully structured and portrayed in the arrangement... this is on par with the top figures of the anipiano community, this really deserves sheet music man! All of your arrangements do, but this, damn... Here's too another three great years of anipiano! Hopefully you'll finally get the recognition you and your work deserve. I personally would still recommend uploading Synthesia tutorials for your arrangements, they'll increase your chances with the algorithm and some people -me included- might also want to learn your arrangements^^ Well then, this inspired me to also seriously arrange something again, once my current transcription projects are finished I can't wait to dive into the world of arranging with the knowledge I've acquired from watching all these masterpieces over the course of the past years!
Thank you Andy, for supporting my video as always. Compared to other anime pianists on RUclips, I think my upload frequency is a disaster lol. I literally haven’t upload any new arrangements since last October. So as you can see, even though I spend huge efforts on each video, the view count is not satisfying at all. But there’s one thing made me really happy and thankful, which is receiving detailed and thoughtful comments like this every time. Your comments really give me lots of motivations. I uploaded my first anime piano arrangement on bilibili on November 18, 2018. It has already been three years and three months since my anime piano journey begins. I did not get any recognition but instead I received criticisms only at that time lol. But I did everything I could to learn different arrangement strategies especially in the year 2020. Back then, my arrangements were very simple and straightforward, I didn’t have enough experience to structure or polish them. My works finally got recognized by other anime pianists and senpais in the community (both RUclips and bilibili) as I uploaded my Kokokara, Kokokara arrangement in December, 2020. It was a very tough and uneasy 3 years to be very honest, because I am basically doing everything possible to improve my arrangements to make them worthy to be enjoyed or even looped. But the journey also brought me a lot of happiness, because I have received lots of encouragements from you guys and some other anime pianists on bilibili along the way. This Vivy arrangement is basically my summary for the past three years, the “storytelling” structure not only told the story of Vivy, but also narrated my own story in the past 3 years. Speaking of sheet music and synthesia. Don’t worry, the sheet music of this arrangement is already in progress. I am currently working on it with my friend Jasper Hu and hopefully we can upload it to my MyMusicSheet webpage by next Friday, and I plan to upload the synthesia of this arrangement along with the release of my sheet music, so stay tuned with my RUclips community posts. I actually did not know that Synthesia seems to be much more favored in RUclips compared to bilibili, so I will definitely upload more of them along with my sheet music in the future. Anyway, thank you so much again for your detailed comments. You guys really cheered me up when I am down. As I mentioned in my reply to Yeh Piano’s comment, I reply to my comments much less frequently compared to other anime pianists due to my limited spare time in college, but I guarantee that I carefully read all of them. I also promise that I will keep improving myself and try to stabilize my uploading frequency in the year 2022.
I saw a comment you made on one of Animenz videos and decided to check out the channel, I'm glad I did, this was great. It's nice to see that you came to like playing piano and went on to do things like this.
The new camera looks awesome! Now even with a suit, like animenz hahaha. Everything, from the angle to the sound of the piano, and even the arrangement itself sounds as if it was from Animenz. Honestly, excluding that the shape of your hands is different, I would have believed that the video was from him! Just keep in mind that you will have to find your own style, mixing all your experiences and tastes. Although of course, Animenz is an amazing model! About the song, I absolutely love the beggining at 1:00. Its simplicity mixed with a really soft touch creates a magical atmosphere, and I'm absolutely in love with it. Later, at 3:12, I love the rithm that you have created: It has the energy of a fast play, but since you don't use the pedal it sounds even more agressive and frenetic, just so at 3:48 you bring the full pedal in and relieve part of the tension. But even with that, the song doesn't end it and continues building until at 4:50 the full chorus comes in. That part is also wonderful, releasing all the energy acumulated through the passage. After the calm interlude, perfect for having a bit of contrast, I want to point out that left hand pattern at 5:59. It looks quite a thing technically speaking! And about the end, well it concludes really well the song, nothing special to say about it! Really appropiate. About that part at 1:00 (it's definitely my favourite) I would recommend you checking this pianist, Rolelush, he also makes anime and videogame covers and has been another really big model for me, just after Animenz. Specially in his most recent covers, he has a completely amazing calm, soft and fluid way to play that it's absolutely hypnotizing. Apart from that, he has wonderful covers like Goblin slayer's rightfully or The witcher 3's lullaby of a woe. Anyway, sorry for taking so much time to write my comments but I usually have few time, and specially now that I am taking this term's final exams it has been hard to find spare time, since this comments require me a lot of time! But well I'm sure that they are worth it, for you, for other people or even just for me as a way of meditating about piano! See you in the next video!
Man, I have to say I am really impressed by your comment. As you can see, my video is not getting either much view counts or comments lol. But you commented my RUclips uploads all along the way. Thank you so much for your support, and I guarantee that I will keep doing my best! This arrangement contains much of Animenz influence as usual, because he has been my idol since my anime piano journey begins. I analyze every video of him to learn his arrangement strategies lol. Animenz also owns a channel on a Chinese video platform named bilibili, and I upload my videos to that platform as well. The bilibili annual user analysis of 2021 says I watched Animenz’s video for more than 7 thousand times, which equals more than ten thousand minutes (The time amount that watches his video continuously without stop for an entire week) lolol, and I think that is probably the reason why so many comments says my arrangement sounds like Animenz’s. However, I agree with you, it is very important to develop my own style, and that is my goal of the year 2022. In 2022, I will not only upload more frequently than last year, I will also learn from more genres of piano to gain more diversified arrangement strategies and techniques. Thanks again for your support!
@@AlexisLinAnimePianoWorks Thanks for your reply! That is a lot of time lol. I usually listen to his music while studying, in fact most of my youtube auto generated playlists are full of his videos hahahaha. That sound like a great idea, I will be looking for your development this new year!!!
Damn Alexis, what an absolutely incredible cover! Sadly I can't read that description yet because I haven't seen the show yet, but I definitely will when I return on my 100th rewatch. HAHA, already on my 4th! Like everyone else has said, this video really emanates strong Animenz vibes! The various ornaments and structure of the arrangement really captures his signature "storytelling" style. I loooovvve that slow introductory passage at the very beginning, and the buildup to the Grace version. Literal chills. 4:24 all the way to the end is definitely my most favorite part! I had ideas in my head how to arrange that section building up to the final chorus, and the way you interpreted/approached it was way better than I would have done. I love it when others' arrangements outside of Animenz videos blow my mind like that! Because in all honesty, that doesn't happen very often. It's baffling how you're not getting the views/subs you rightfully deserve with all the quality and effort you've put into this video. But I'm glad to see you intend to continue making videos despite that. The fact that many other comments here are writing paragraphs just shows that we're really deeply touched by your work. I'm glad to have discovered your channel through Discord :) To another year of AniPiano!
Thank you Corrin, it’s been a while. I am really glad that you like my arrangement, and I am also very thankful for your detailed and thoughtful comment, which encourages me a lot. I have once talked to Andy, my upload frequency is a total disaster lol, which is the main reason I am not getting a satisfying view count. Lots of pianists out there are aiming for fast transcriptions and fast uploads. While their efforts should definitely be appreciated, I personally prefer to spend weeks, or even months of effort on one single piece. It might be pretty dumb or low-efficiency, but that’s the way I do it lol. For me, it is enough when I received comments like this. My ultimate goal is to spread my love for anime music to others, comments from you guys has definitely proven that everything I have done was worth it. Speaking of 4:24, it is my personal favorite part as well, since it is the most energetic section of the original song in my opinion. I have read lots of comments from both bilibili and RUclips, and most people like 3:00 aka the beginning part of Grace version the best. So I am very glad that we think alike!
