- See this great hockey highlight of an amazing vid taken by hockey scorekeeper Eric Zane when he was talking to American Hockey League (AHL) Texas Stars ice hockey player, Jeremy Gregoire in the penalty box saying, "Don't let me down!" And, he didn't!😲
Immediately after exiting the hockey penalty box, Gregoire goes after and gets into a hockey scrum with ice hockey player Patrick Curry of the Grand Rapids Griffins hockey team.

He’ll end up going back to the penalty box for 5 minutes it’s more “tolerated” than it is apart of the game. Main thing is both people need to drop their sticks and gloves. Teams even have a role called enforcer or sometimes called “goon” who’s job is to basically annoy the other team and start fights it’s a tactic to get the opposing team off their game

It's crazy how on ice, hockey players are like modern day gladiators. But whatever stories you hear about them outside the game make em sound like golden retrievers. Truly the duality of man.

@@olivierp.samvame2266 I remember reading about how canadians during ww1 would starve the enemies during a siege, then throwing out food for a few days, and on the last day when everyone on the enemy side started trusting you, you shot em all or put grenades in the food crates. On another instance, canadians would start throwing some canned food at enemies and when they asked for more you started bombarding them 😅
Also, I read about how canadians broke the christmas truce, during the christmas truce, germans would come out from the trench, welcomed the enemy and have fun until the next day, and when the germans came to the canadian trench, they said hello and merry christmas before asking them to play or eat smth, and well the canadians replied by bombarding them 😅😅 I guess geneva convention is for canadians

Any other sport this is a multiple game suspension and heavy fines. In hockey, you have to go to time out for five minutes.

NRL in Australia used to be like this kind of there was brawls all the time especially during our version of the Super Bowl but in the mid 2000s they banned punching and now we just get shoving matches which is boring. UFC is the only sport I watch now 😅

i cant even walk on the ice without nearly eating shi, these guys are crazy skilled to have a whole FIGHT on ice😂
In junior I watched our best fighter's skate slip out from under him while fighting. He immediately fell backwards with the other guy getting the advantage coming right down on top of him. He ended up putting his own tooth right through his lip from the awkward tumble. And that was a comparatively harmless slip. He didn't even have to leave the game. But yeah it is very hard to fight with skates on and even experienced fighters like my teammate can easily have something go sideways.

And it's the dumbest thing in all of sports. There isn't a single other sport where two men can beat on each other and not be ejected from the game. Notice how the ballerinas on ice are the least mature "professionals?" It has nothing to do with hockey being a contact sport either. Football, rugby, nor wrestling let anyone interrupt to fight.
@@Landshark583 rugby has its share of fights. Lacrosse allows fighting at the pro levels. Basketball had to institute rules because a sucker punch caused a riot between players and fans. Wrestling is already a fight so that one is redundant.
The concept of hockey was based on the old style of play. No helmets, and sticks were used as weapons because there was only one official. If it wasn’t seen, it wasn’t called. So the players policed their own games. Act a fool, there’s consequences. A penalty is one thing (hack a person in the face, they get injured for months if they even can return to the game). You sit out for 5 minutes and get to come back? Nah, let the fight solve the aggression and cool things off. Pro hockey has instituted new rules to limit the fights as there are no four officials on the ice to witness major threats to safety. Jerseys are required to be tied down to minimize being pulled over a head during a fight. Penalties are assessed for engaging in a fight without a tie down. Removing a helmet is also a penalty as well as “instigating” a fight. Brawls are discouraged even further by the enforcement of penalties on secondary fights at the same time as an established altercation. Visors are mandatory at the junior and pro levels which discourages fighting even further (the visors are sharp along the edges and can cause cuts to the hands).

Golf is probably the most mature and honestly, it’s the only true game where you’re competing against yourself and almost every rule is centered on you penalizing yourself in the name of sportsmanship.

McCarty was one of my favorites. Not many goals but buddy loved tussling. Seen him play at the griffins a while back and he was just demolishing them. That very same night I got to touch the Stanley cup and take a picture with it!
