What a super nice bass guitar this is! Thank you so much to the owner Marty over at the best guitar store in Michigan: Motor City Guitar!!! I've been going to this store for 30 years now, dating all the way back to their old location where they just had everything and anything. If you've never been to MCG, you are missing out! Great store and of course great people there! Wish I had more time and energy to check this bass out that Marty loaned to me, but with the high demand and my super high standards as a competitive bodybuilder I could only squeeze in what I did for this video. There's nothing wrong with using a pick dude. I play certain things with a pick and others with my fingers. To me its just about what sound you're going for and the type of attack you want. No shame in using different techniques at all.
Exactly, well said. It's all about the type of sound or style you're going for. Some of the greatest bass players use a pick.

Exactly agree with you all! Couldn’t have said it any better. I play both guitar and bass. I use a pick when I do simply because I am achieving a specific sound and tone just as I do for my fingers. I think that bass there sounded great.

Been watching your stuff over the years, your technique and recording production have come a long way man.
You inspired me to pull out my 4-string. I had my 6-string bass out about a month ago, but I need to rebuild the active electronics to a circuit that's more dynamic and much higher gain. My 4-string has a beastly active module I built 20 years ago, but that was 20 years ago. I'm going to rebuild that one too.
I want my volume pots to have a lot more influence on response, and OEM onboard actives are often dull unless they're major name brand, so the 6-string is like there's a pillow muffling the bastard.

@@davidemmons899 my guy, bodybuilding has always been a part of his channel. There’s literally entire videos on it and it’s in the intro to most of his videos lol I said good luck at the show because he mentions in THIS video he has a show coming up in eight weeks.
That is my preferred metal bass sound. Supper bubbly, metallic and pronounced. Funk with stank. Love it. Riffage was sickly too. 🤘🤘
Unfortunately it’s not a bass sound, it’s a mid-trebley sound. Doesn’t work in a band mix as it clashes with the frequencies of the guitars.

Pick and fingers both have their advantages and challenges and I have equal respect for both. It's just that in my case, fingers have always felt so much more natural because of the string gauge and scale length.
Kevin's opinion on bass is the same as mine on acoustic guitar... I think finger style is so much cooler but for me it's challenging make it sound good because the strings are so much thinner than bass strings, which I like to go to town on

Hey man, i just watched your video about gaining muscle by jelqing but you didn't really go into a lot of detail about your regimen. How many days of the week do you jelq? And is it just jelqing or do you also edge and goon? When you jelq off, do you stroke to completion afterwards to relive the build up? How long did it take to get muscles that big by jelqing alone?
