If Chloey died different way, she might've never overcame her guilt, but, while she was dying, she was trying to convince Lucifer not to feel guilty about her death, because she chose to be here, and that's peobably what helped her to get rid of her guilt, cause she probably thought Dan thought the same way about her, when he was dying.
As i saw why the one guy who hated Luci the most went to his side is because he is the angel of "Righteousness." So he hated him the most before, because he believed that everything he does is for the wrong reasons. The original revolution, his playboyy lifestyle, etc, etc. But since Luci actually managed to show him vulnerability and an actually good reason for what he does he persuaded him to do the right thing as well. To be the angel of righteousness.
Lucifer proved when he got angry on Chloe’s behalf that he wasn’t as selfish as he thought. It made him reconsider his brother. That’s what I always believed.
I think the war was initially thought as something more spectacular, but since it was filmed in the middle of the Covid close down, the story had to be limited to a handful of angels and some extras as demons. I also believe if Lucifer had been honest with his siblings and explained he was doing his bid for god for the love of Chloe, more angels would have been on his side, since lots of them felt Michael was a douche, but they also mistrusted Lucifer and felt they had to choose the lesser of two evils. Looking forward to your reaction to season 6. Michael was a great antagonist in this season, but there are many elements on the last season I enjoyed better, but no spoilers.

In Season 3 when people were saying the last episodes were throw away items, I'm glad you watched all of them. Azrael was introduced then and this episode was the payoff.

Love the finale, and I cant believe that the next reaction will be Season 6 already. Lucifer reactions are going to end😭 I love the difference that when Lucifer drinks alcohol, its always brown (bourbon), while Michael drinks white spirits. I also love how Zadkiel supported Lucifer because of love, something that most of the angels felt the didn't get from God
Such a strong episode. I always got chills when Lucifer says "So. Be. It." and I cry every time Chloe dies. And the music... oh my god! Well I guess we all know Lucifer will be the one who became God, but the way he became him was unexpected which is why it turned out the best of all the ideas. Also, I think that Zadkiel (I think that was the name the one who was so much against Luci) sided with Lucifer because the honest reason Lucifer gave him - pure love to human being - showed him that Lucifer grown up. He wasn't that rebellious angel who, in their eyes, did everything against their father will, he was the proper candidate to became God.
my theory is that because Death didnt vote, the first vote was not complete. Only by killing Chloe, did Michael summon Death whom then voted for Lucifer after the fight.
Lol, and here I am wishing I could go back in time to stop myself from watching Season 6, especially the most spectacularly idiotic finale 😂 I wish the Season 5 finale was the end of the series. It was so filled with hope.
I told you that this episode would blow your mind. The choice between Lucifer and Michael came down to that old chestnut the devil you know vs the one you don't. In this case it was more literal. The fire consuming Lucifer in heaven is somewhat more difficult to understand. I think that it was the last vestige of Lucifers corruption burning away. Making the choice to go and save Chloe when he knew that going would be his death, the sacrifice, was what finally redeemed him. He was cleansed.
10/10 Just another masterpiece of a finale ... What an episode !! Felt just like a 21st century mythical Greek epic ... The story still leads us to an unavoidable war and the screenplay was just giving us a little hope somewhere to hang on to .. up until the end. I have to mention again, that I still can't get over how "Dan" story went , in which I hope they do something about next season (Some news say he'll be there for the final season in some capacity) ... but the whole cast were just amazing still engaging after .. well .. 5 years now. Anyway, as a whole season it was just unbelievably amazing,, Netflix still know where to spend their money, and as it stands the money spent on production and cinematography was totally worth it. The sixth and final season has already wrapped filming just before season 5, Part 2 premiered, So here we go to a final season, we're waiting for the release dates to have a one last ride on this highway to hell, or heaven :D who knows ! :D.
That ' Can't touch this' scene cracked me up!!! When I saw Azrael I didn't make the connection at first but then ....when Michael killed Chloe , I died there too😭 So...is Lucifer ready to become God!!?? Fun fact: those words Maze said to Eve are Lesley Ann Brandt wedding vows....
I suspect Zadkiel was always on Lucifer's side, yet pretended to be against Lucifer to not only keep himself safe concerning Michael, but also, to be able to know more of Michael's plans
I don't think Chloe's guilt over Dan's death went away. I think that guilt wasn't enough to send Chloe to hell and that's why she went to heaven. Remember amgels doesn't fully understand how the system works so Michaels assumption could've been wrong all along. That's how I see it at least
If the numbers in the final battle seemed a bit underwhelming its because Covid restrictions meant only a certain number of people could be present and not standing right next to each other (with the exception of the core characters). In normal times they could have filled the place with extras playing angels and demons . The acting and everything else was fine, but upon second viewing you will a lot of space/gaps in that final battle.
I got the impression that COVID significantly impacted the filming of this one. That, and I think if they knew they’d get another season, they might have plotted this one differently. Anyway, love the show, but didn’t love this episode.
If I am not mistaken this episode was filmed after knew that got another season but every episode before this was filmed before they knew. I also think the scenes in the previous episode were they say Dan is in hell were filmed at the same time as this episode and originally Dan was in heaven like Amenadiel implied during the funeral. This as a way to keep him in the last season.
There's a lot of strong stuff in this episode, but I was and still am happy they got another season after this, as I don't think I'd have been happy with it as a series finale. Although I imagine it might have gone differently if it had been. I don't know if they knew before they shot this that they had been picked up or how much that would have affected the way the episode played out. There definitely feels like there were threads in at least these last two episodes that would have felt out of place without another season. But, I just can't really get behind the pacing of this episode. It's just... off. I know the show's core premise is blending the comical and dramatic, but I still really hate the "Can't Touch This" bit during the confrontation; it really undermines the tension for me. I don't mind the whole arc of Lucifer rescuing Chloe from heaven at his own expense and then coming back - but I think it's undermined in a couple of ways. First is the fact that they had literally just killed Dan, so it seemed very unlikely that they would make Chloe's death stick. If they wanted that to have more impact, they either needed Dan not die or have more distance from it. But then, there's also Lucifer's return; which, naturally we can expect Lucifer to come back, because it's his show and there's another season... but it still feels too quick for that to be meaningful. When a plot point becomes less about _if_ something is going to happen, because the audience can reasonably assume it will; then it becomes more about _how_ it's going to happen. Lucifer coming back a minute later is anticlimactic; at least for me. They didn't give us enough time to care or anticipate his return. I think they could have solved both problems by killing Chloe in the last episode and had Lucifer's sacrifice _then._ Followed-up with Dan, Chloe, Amenadiel and Maze trying to figure out how to stop Michael's ascension to God; with Lucifer return just in the nick of time. Kill Dan during that fight or at the start of next season if necessary.
