Can i take off the old paper surrounding and replace it with a foam surrounding? I hace a pair of old alnico speakers and the paper surrounding is almost gone. How can i improve the bass for those old speakers? Do You think that with a foam surrounding will sound better?

I think this special formula is required.
No elmers will make it stiff as elmers dries much harder than this stuff

You will completely change the properties of those speakers. Do this only if it's last resort and you don't mind damaging the speakers.

Pva polly vinyl adhesive...its no special glue..i bet you payed way to much for that little bottle...just get a big bottle of good pva next tìme
Not the same thing. I have used pva on many things and it does not remain the same when dry. It is similar, but not the same.
