I switch it up. I use wild edge steps, screw in steps and tree stands, mini sticks and a saddle, and I’m still messing around with one sticking too depending on the situation!
@@theunsuccessfulhunters4198 yeah man no problem glad to be here. I like seeing fellow North Carolinians in the woods. I live up in Wilkes County. I’ll give u guys a follow on IG & show some pics from my season
What's your strategy of hunting late season. I'm having a difficult time this year. Still haven't shot a buck and have 2 buck tags left. I hunt hill country Missouri public land.
Have every single trail cam you own out and put them on trails leading to a hot food source, try and get a pattern on a buck, they are predictable this time of year because all they are thinking about is building back calories from the rut. And definitely be hunting around food sources, but not directly over them, hunt the trails cutting them off from bedding to food because they will not be in the food during day light on high pressure public this time of year. Good luck!
Scrape lines are also worth hunting any time of the year if they are using them during day light. Put some trail cameras over scrapes in pinch points leading to thick areas that could be bedding areas and see if you get daylight pictures.Definitely be hunting close to thick bedding areas this time of year bc they will not stray far from bedding during daylight.
@@theunsuccessfulhunters4198 thank you for the advice. Maybe this year is just not my year. Ive been hunting bedding areas in the morning and field edges in the evening. But I may have to switch it up in the evenings because I don't see much movement during the evening until it gets dark. May have to find some travel corridors leading from bedding to fields.
@@Rubo7 yeah you probably won’t catch them out on the edge of the field on public this time of year. If you push into the woods deeper you might catch them in daylight. Or you could knock on some doors and find some private land that hasn’t been hunted, that would be your best bet to seeing daylight deer haha😂 hunting public land in the late season is a grind. We are heading up to Ohio this weekend to try and get it done on public ourselves.
@@theunsuccessfulhunters4198 Haha Good luck to you guys than. But Yea it's a total grind. I hard time this year even seeing a buck. If I get a buck this year I would be surprised. I have to learn where bucks bed. So hard to find where they are bedding.
Congratulations on a great buck! All good things come from God!

Awesome hunt and dream buck! Are you still using the 1 stick method? Or do you switch it up depending on terrain or private land vs public?
