- Hey everyone! A lot of people have been wondering if I will cover the Eagles this year, and where I went! So I just wanted to fill you in on where I went and why. Watch the video for all info! I hope the Best for the Eagles this year! Keep those talons crossed!!

Wow, I didn't see anything wrong with your videos. I actually thought they would be great for children wanting to learn about eagles, with a wonderful story line. "Story time with Dave" you have a wonderful way of telling stories. If people can't appreciate that, then it's time to move on. There are so many Eagle Nests out there that would definitely appreciate your talent. You brought many people to the nest in Big Bear and we will be here for you. 💖🤗
David I think that you are a wonderful narrator. My husband and I enjoyed so much all last year listening to you and watching Jackie and Shadow. I wish that things would change and that you would still do it this year. You have such a heart for them. We will miss you this year.

Oh wow David, i was wondering what happened to you.
Last year which was my first year watching your channel and bald eagles, i learned so much about bald eagles especially Jackie & Shadow. Your videos helped me catchup on their progress as the time difference here in UK makes watching it all live difficult.
So good to hear your familar voice, but sad you are not continuing on from last season

Wow, they certainly seem to be short sighted, perhaps a bit immature. Your work was great, you brought J and Sh to life in a way no one else has. You speculated with us, shared your knowledge or opinions. I was so looking forward to your videos this year. I hope that they realize that maybe they were wrong and change their minds.
Anyway I love your videos and will contribute as I can. The pictures that you took of J, Sh and Spirit are fabulous.
Yeah, seems like FOBB should just bring him into the fold to do narration, since they aren't providing the service that Dave did.

What an absolute shame that those fobby people are so controlling. For those of us who have a life and don't have the time to tune in all day because of work and family duties, your updates last year were a godsend, you've been so insightful and educational, such a loss for the eagles to have you on their side helping us regular folks to understand, let's hope fobby change their mind and allow you to do what we all want you to do, thanx for all you've done Mr. James

I figured last year when Jackie and Shadow abandoned the eggs it was time for you to step back .... but was anxiously awaiting your return. How could they not like what you were doing? You are the reason I was still following the eagles, purchased their merch, and shared Jackie and Shadow with everyone. I am so bummed you will not be doing commentary this year.

I looked forward to your condensed days of Jackie and Shadow. For the life of me, I can't see how anyone could find fault in what you were doing. So much of what you had on your reviews I never would have seen if not for your work to edit hours of film. I for one really appreciated your narrative and videos. @@funkibloo3811 I agree, I thought his coverage last year was great. People can get weird when it comes to nest cams I’ve noticed. A sort of possessiveness can set in with people who’ve been involved in a long established nest, especially when it comes to bald eagles. It’s really unfortunate.

I have long ago undergraduate training in animal ecology, behavior, and evolution and thought this would be a great group to share thoughts with but, um, no... Like every somewhat obscure Internet community, it's ruled by it's own quirks, needs, and orthodoxies.

Your photography is National Geographic quality! They are so meaningful evoking the viewer to feel such an overwhelming sense of appreciation and awe and the deepest feelings of respect and protectiveness for nature. Your input educated us all and taught us how vital it is to be aware of everything we are doing to either facilitate or harm this planet. I have completely stopped using pesticides! Furthermore, all of my family and friends have too. We made a pact to dedicate one day a week no matter where we are to clean and pick up trash and gutters to dispose of anything that might end up in the ocean or might be accidentally consumed or entangled by nature. Beach cleanups went so well we no longer had to go clean those beaches so many locals kept the visitors accountable for waste as well as neighbors in our own cities. You are a great and dedicated passionate man whose love and loyalty to the preservation of nature and all living things and you have impacted our lives and the many many living creatures and earth and air in a deep and meaningful way. Don't ever wonder because although we are strangers your loyalty to the preservation of this world has changed us for the better. Dave you represent the change we need in this world because your actions and words have never been self serving never about ego because everything you said and did was out of loving intent....you love this planet...and we are honored to have been given such kind instructions and by example...how to be ...more like Dave. Thank you kind soul....thank you for making us better human beings. Can't wait to see what you do next but am disappointed our great educator won't be continuing on this lovely platform. Your the reason my family watched Jackie and Shadow last season (first year).
And I do mean family. My then 4, 10, 15 and 17 yo daughters would all run in to watch your videos (for teens that's hard to do) with me. We learned so much and have a very enjoyable time. We will miss you and hope they will change their minds.

@@KittyFloof. I think they must be referring to FBBV (Friends of Big Bear Valley)? Thats the group that runs the two cameras and manages the day to day operations. They also run the Facebook page and other social media accounts about Jackie & Shadow. Anyone else have any information?

We're blessed to live in a time that we can capture events that we didn't have the technology for prior. That said, I can understand their concern and constraints in attempting to simply, protect their ability to keep their work with the eagles, and their expensive equipment going 24/7... so as to manage and maintain it, for the future.
It's a huge undertaking and responsibility, between filming, permits, biologists, arborist, and the Forestry Department and all working to ensure and safeguard, these national treasures🦅🪺🦅.
Their blessed to have those God-given creations at Big Bear Lake... we all are!
I imagine that's what is at the forefront here, with them living and nesting in B.B.
It's a gift, and no doubt they recognize it. J.& S. or any other species could leave the area, at any point in time.
They may feel protective and are simply attempting to generate interest, with the public for the Eagles, and their beautiful community given all it has to offer as a whole.
Sir, in your branching out and discovering more beauty to share. I wish nothing but the best for you going forward. May you and yours have joy, health, and prosperity.

Thanks for this video, Dave. I keep looking for you. I'm so sorry to hear you won't be doing your daily wrap-ups of the Jackie and Shadow show. I remember last year something wonky happened near the end. My opinion - I didn't think there was anything wrong with you giving your opinion or feeling on what might happen with the eggs(I'm assuming that might have been at least part of the "problem"). There are plenty of other creators using the same footage, but you were the most fun and didn't have any corny music or special effects. One thing I learned from you is that when we see one of the eagles poop they will probably take off in the next minute or two.😄 I'll miss your J&S videos, but I will watch whatever you put out.

I was looking for you yesterday and was sad to see you were not covering the new egg. I did notice the new (disclaimer?) they had on the site and thought that might be a reason. Their loss, just another another consequence of our current culture. I'm glad you are well and still enjoying the eagles.

Dave this is very disheartening to hear. My wife and I really enjoyed your videos with your voice over last year. We watched every video and were really looking forward to this years egg’s and your videos. My wife is seriously upset at who ever came between you and Jackie& Shadow. It’s shame, you did such a great job with each and every video. Hopefully you come back and do it again in the future. I might write to FOBBV and tell them how much I’m disappointed with them.

I know that they want to keep everything about their channel strictly theirs but, if all they want is a channel just to keep an eye on their eagles, then they don't really need viewers to watch a long with them. I also know that they want to keep their eagles safe as if they own them but, no one owns them. They, 100 percent, belong to nature. God Bless on your new venture.

Dave My whole family is going to miss you so much. We loved when you came on and talk to us regarding Jackie and Shadow like a story. It was just so awesome and learn so much from you. The gosh darn shame. But also like you said New doors open as others close. And so glad to hear your voice and see your beautiful pictures especially of Jackie Shadow and spirit . Keeping up with them last year before Oh well before she laid the eggs and nothing happened. And poor shadow work was so persistent and kept trying to sit on those eggs. My those two are a riot and if it wasn't for you hearing your voice I would have never been interested.
