- This was actually a multiple removal job. It will produce two videos. This is a takedown of an elm over driveway, not requiring rigging other than a few hand rakes in a natural crotch. Along with some musings of various RUclips comments just a game of trees having fun :-) don’t forget to check out www.gameofchess.com.

Wow, never tired of watching Pro's work, you make it look easy, great job guys, you are a credit to your profession...
Thanks...
I didn't feel comfortable until you were halfway down! 😮 😅
😀
Love watching your vids, I work in Dallas
Thanks Manuel
I know your supposed to flip the bar on the saw every once and a while but it still cracks me up when I see a flipped bar
😂
Great job.
Nice to have all the tools you need to do the job.
Y’all never disappoint
Stay safe
Thanks Rick, except we didn’t have either of our lifts while they wait for parts:)
@@GameofTrees but you got your daily workout
Love your videos Mr. Kevin. Bsafe out there.
Enjoyed the video. Nice tree to work. My kind of tree.
When i started felling trees we called a tree that splits up and tilts over a tree thats SLABBED- now a days thats called Barberchairing - either way it could kill or severally injure the tree cutter
Well said about some other tree guys man I've been doing tree work for 8 year and have meet alot of those people already everybody has there on way some better then others stay safe love how you work
Haha nothing worse then getting slapped by locust
Great job Kevin and crew always nice work got to love climbing in the cold I hate it hahaha God bless
What leg straps do you use on your silky there? I need an alternative to the standard silky straps
We buy the Arborwear wrap chaps for the guys, they come with extra elastic straps they are perfect for the saw.
@Game of Trees lol, guess I'm gonna have to update my chaps 😅🤷♂️
Well said about experience. Keep open mind many ways to do something.
Good afternoon Kevin, could you recommend your top option for best winter/ cold arborist pants. I can't find any review videos or comparisons for any of the recommendations given by Google. I own 2 pairs but both are climbing pants..
I wear the Arborwear heavy chainsaw pants in winter with UA cold gear underneath. Backside can be a little thin so I might add some cotton boxer breads over the under armor when it really gets cold:)
Kev's A pretty Serious Tree Guy, I Dont Think He Needs Any Help. Just Look At His Accomplishments!!!! It Says It All!!!
Thanks Jim. I’m still willing to learn as well. There hasn’t been a critical comment that I haven’t reflected upon. If my newest groundie, asks me if I want a tag line on a rig, I never refuse the line. We learn every day and let us beware if we say, “Naw, I got this.” 😄Thanks for your words of support Jim!
True! It is very unwise to immediately discount someone else’s perspective. Especially when it’s YOUR name and reputation on the line.
We have a saying in Scotland..”Dinnae try and teach yer Granny how tae sook eggs” (Don’t try and teach your Grandmother how to suck eggs) which really means Don’t try and teach an expert something when you are not an expert. Seems apt for your youtube commenter 👍🏻
Great job on the phonetic spelling, I could hear you say that😂
@@GameofTrees 😂 Scots spelling (then English translation) you’ll see Scots written this way if you look up Robert Burns 👍🏻 or the website ‘aye can’
Damn!!! I didn't know I could hold my breath for 33 minutes ~ LOL!!! You make that work look easy but as an old pole climber, I know better!!! Toes up!!!
😂😂
Awesome job brother
Thanks Todd
Wiah i could do this.. i have 4 trees leaning over my barn i need removed... but no way can i climb up there to get it peice by peice.. versus chopping it down from the bottom
Who knew there was so much to tree cutting?..............You live and learn.
Thanks for your comment Linda, yes, tree cutting is deep and full of strong opinions 😂
I do intermint fasting sometimes. Mainly with vodka.
😂
Intermittent Fasting works great alongside. Very low carb/Ketovore or Carnivore.
Good to know!
Are we having fun yet ? 😜🤣
Yes!
Whilst reclining on my sofa in the sitting room, my interest was peaked when I saw your video. I must correct you in your use of the term “posh”. Posh is a Spice Girl. The term that you are looking for is “smart”. We in the upper crusts of society use the term to describe ourselves as smart. Ergo, you’ve been taken to Uni..
😂😂😂 thanks for that! Very witty of you sir:)
Actually I’m a Christian Louboutin wearing woman. I live in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee on a 30+ farm. I have many trees, so I watch your videos for practical information. A tree has just fallen in one of my hayfields due to all of the rain and high winds. So chainsaws here I come.
Got it in one my friend. 🇬🇧

The “potential” issue or challenge of working under someone else in the beginning in my opinion is finding someone who does things safely and according to current accepted standards. Some cut corners, etc. Not good to develop those bad habits early on.
I followed ISA and Arbormaster Training closely in my early years and consequently I don’t cut with one hand with a chainsaw :-)
@@GameofTrees I sometimes one hand a chainsaw and I’m not embarrassed to admit it. Nor am I gonna try to hide it. There are just some situations in my opinion where it may make for safer and more comfortable work position, etc. I know some people may hate on this, but just my opinion though.

I like to watch any tree vids but am clearly not a "fan" as you describe your viewers, just a casual viewer. At the risk of sounding self righteous (you are the king of self righteous) or "snobby" (I am English tho) I gotta ask a few questions...who else would run a lanyard with a huge wonk in it like that (likely from that handsaw you obsessively use?) ? Who else gonna do a td without removing the bottom limbs in the way before the top limbs? Why you gonna climb an easy bucket takedown when you have a bucket sitting in the lot other than for content and make the job tediously more difficult and much slower?
When you butt hitch a limb or log...why don't you use a marl below the cut like any other experienced treeman instead of laying it over a crotch and hoping it falls into it? Why did you take down a nice elm like that? Do you never stop talking at home like on the videos? Cheers Kevin :-).......................... www.bing.com/videos/search?&q=chatty+cathy+doll+video+of+talking&view=detail&mid=0F2C7F08893C83316A6A0F2C7F08893C83316A6A&form=VDRVRV&rvsmid=B7ADE1B282BF8E9ADD51B7ADE1B282BF8E9ADD51&ajaxhist=0
Great stuff Dave! Your the most consistent casual viewer I have:) I finally got that lanyard changed out two days ago. Yes, it was due. I had to go up to clear a broken branch so while I was up there I decided to take some branches off, and worked the tree down from the top. As far as that nice elm tree goes it was an American elm that they didn’t wanna treat so the best time to take it down is when it’s a small as it was before it dies. They live in a forest they have no shortage of trees. Regarding the bucket truck it’s currently in the shop waiting for parts as is our Dino lift. Supply chain issues are real. Yes Amaro was an option but I also knew we could put it into that crotch and there was no consequence if it didn’t go in the crotch, Because there was a boatload of space. I hope that answers your questions, I’ve watched some of your videos, there’s definitely room for critiquing :-) as always thanks for your comment and thank you for casually consistently watching :-)
@@GameofTrees the brand new Deeno lift is down already!??! Maybe shoulda bought a CMC Kev? Merry Christmas to you and the guys.
PS...a little advice from a very old experienced tree veteran (Treevet if you will)....having not worked for anyone or with anyone else is NOT something to brag about. This profession/trade is developed and mastered initially by an apprenticeship. Working for another company and or with other tree guys is where things are learned and high proficiency is developed through competition and repetitions and studying and discussing ...not "climbing contest" proficiency but day to day arboriculture.
