BMW Z4 Windshield Molding Replacement S1.E1

- Today in the Hutch Touch Garage, we replace the brittle old windshield molding on a 2003 bmw z4. Dealerships will have you believe that they must pull off the windshield to replace this, and charge you a butt load of your hard earned cash. I have heard quotes from 600-1000 dollars to replace this simple part. Do not be fooled. One can change this them self for a measly 40 dollars in comparison.
Hindsight: Do this in the shade as the black molding gets very hot to the touch. Start from the edges and work your way around.

Yea that cowl is a little more pricey than the trim as well. Its in the very bottom of my to do list lol 😂
Hi quick question, what did you use to remove the melted rubber/adhesive left after removing the trim? What is in the bottle, Thanks
Having a hard time snapping in the top section. Can't tell if the what I am seeing is just the old trim that has broken apart and has stuck there. Should the new trim snap onto the body directly like the side trim does? Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks

Sorry man that Bobble head veiw is Very Disturbing to watch bouncing all over the place Can’t you simply Tripod the filming device instead of thinking your impressing me with this very immature l stuck the Cam to my Wobbly head to make viewers get motion sickness. Absolutely weird as hell nowadays.
Never do this to a Z4 Coupe (E86). You'll break the windshield or at least will be unable to insert the new gasket.
I did exactly that, watching all these RUclips videos making it look easy, my E86 the sides came off easy but the top was so tight and yes I cracked the wind shield. I was so pissed off but i learned my lesson don't believe all you see online 🙈
@@simantroo Uhm he did this on a roadster e85 in this video, not the e86 coupe. Also this is warned about in bmw forums. Your fault, sorry.
@@m-stat9 obvs yeah we can all see its an E85 but thought the E86 would be same or similar. Obvs again of course it's my fault cos I did it least I've got the balls to admit it rather than than you trolling folk trying to take the moral high ground. Just for the record insurance paid for the screen with an 80 quid excess so win win 🤡
ah you could of done the video without you showing yourself going to the garbage can I think we know how to do that. You also could of narrated it and fast forward removing all the glue.
