  • In this video I am still working on the right rear corner of the FC cab that I am restoring. Still taking out pieces that are rusted and need to be replaced. After a lot of spot weld drilling I finally have the rear wheel arch out and ready to be replaced. I will make a set of dies for the pullmax and test them out to make sure the bead is the proper profile.

    There used to be a show on TV called " Modern Masters. It show cases the worlds most skilled craftsmen in various trades. Absolutely my favorite show of all time!
    You would qualify. I love your videos and eagerly await the next one. Even the ones on tomatoes...lol

      Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, it is appreciated. Glad you enjoy the videos and the content I put out there. From what I see and what people tell me I am quickly becoming a dinosaur and with no younger people coming up behind me or wanting to learn my trade and way of life, I am sad to think this work won't make it another generation. More videos on the way, keep watching.

    Thanks for the video. What exact type of deburring wheel do you recommend? I looked at 3M scotch brite wheels. They offer different grades (medium or finish) and different densities (8,9,11). I don‘t have any experience with deburring wheels yet. Would appreciate if you could recommend what works best for you. Thanks.

      I like 3M, norton, bear tex, etc..... not too many bad ones out there, they all work pretty good. Norton and bear tex hold up great. I like the medium 8 or 9 works great for polishing up tooling and general deburring.

    How do you know how to make the bottoms of the panels when they're completely gone like these ones? It must be extremely hard sometimes with more rare vehicles like these where you have nothing to use as a reference. Great video, thumbs up as always :)

    • @metalshaperJeep
      @metalshaperJeep  5 лет назад

      I have a huge inventory of patterns to work from. when I don't have a pattern I usually refer to the other side of the vehicle to get a mirror image of what I need to make. When that doesn't work I have to back track and work with what is left of the panels it attaches to. It can be a real hassle at times but there is usually a way to determine the pattern shape.

    I think it is best to take out the panel to at least clean everything up but a wield is the strongest part of a panel
