Such an exciting vlog to share with you all! Erol’s biggest ever jump! He was such a good boy and is really growing up now! We had a lesson with Nick Gauntlett which is so special as Nick bred Erol! We worked on skinnies and corners and then jumped the biggest spread we have ever jumped and he just flew it! He really is starting to grow into such a special horse!
I hope you guys like this vlog and thank you so much for all your support we really appreciate it!

I think you can tell a good trainer on their views on the basics, such as Nick saying he has to march on and keep to the gait and the speed you ask without having to ask all the time, but should be doing the same until you ask for something else. I love that.
    Great video!

It was an interesting and helpful lesson. Edited to add that I suggest not worrying about falling off until you actually fall off. You are riding on a surface and wearing a body protector. Will never ride as well as you but have ridden a lot of difficult horses and worrying about what might happen, simply makes riding harder than it needs to be.

What a brilliant instructor the way he explains everything is great and it makes perfect sense. Errol did so well, yes he still has some growing to do, and now is the time to invest in his learning, and oh my what a fab jump he has, such scope and he’s eager to please and is so honest in his attitude to his work, what a fab duo of Ashley and Errol I’m so look forward to watching you both progress, exciting times are coming! 🐴 xx

I did exactly what you were doing with my mare when she was younger. I kept schooling her, forgetting we’d done the work and time to advance. That two years “coming of age” seemed to be so fast. I thought she was still that crazy 4 yr old I’d started. The day I started seeing her as the horse she’d become we went from strength to strength. Erol is going to be incredible. Those knees are wonderful! I can see him taking you the whole way!

What a great partnership you will have with Erol, having been with him since he was just a lad! He seems to like the jumping & learns fast. And he has a sweet disposition, tho I think he was getting a bit worried--"Where's my hay, did you forget my hay?"

Lovely vlog. Well done Ashley. Erol is growing into a super horse. I can already invisualise him a little taller and with a strong top line. I love the way Nick encourages you to work on your own. Pushes you forwards and then tweaks you in the things you can't see you're doing and helps you focus vin moving forwards. Great to watch. Thank you.

My goodness, you need to take some enormous credit for producing such a laid-back and capable boy, Ashley!! When I heard you say Nicks name, tears immediately sprung to my eyes because of the dreadful trauma he went through and when he then said who Errol was by my heart actually swelled in pride ( I know we don't know each other but I've followed you for couple of years now) in the work and professional ongoing of Errol, and now I can hear the hope in Nicks voice that you make his pride and joys protedgy succeed in his career as an event horse, and I jolly well know you are more than capable to do that! You are such a beautiful rider, and confidence is all about the trust you have in your horse, and we know they are not robots, but although Errol is green, he is also a blank sheet, ready to absorb all your ability, knowledge and bravery. You have this in buckets, and now add a pinch of confidence, and you and Errol are going to be all you are dreaming and wanting from him.... come on, gal, excitement waits around the corner for you both ❤

You must be quiet small because I thought Zeb was taller than he is....not sure of this ones height either !
