  • And there was much rejoicing. (yaaaaaay!)
    Seriously, though, there kind of is. This plugin is a bit of a big deal. It's been hotly anticipated, and is one of the last two 'old stock' plugins (at least, out of my main list) to be brought up to date and ported to VST/Windows/Linux. The other one is Cabs, and I think Cabs isn't really very good. I'll put it out anyhow, but I've dragged my feet because it's a pain to work on and it's not great at 'being a speaker cab plugin', not truly special just weird.
    But this is PocketVerbs, and PocketVerbs IS special. It's a precursor to what I'm doing with MV, what I'll do more of in the future… but the reason I dragged my feet on this one is, it's cumbersome. There's more code in it than the size of some novels, and I had to port that! It's not even brilliant code… but it had to be done just as it was, to maintain the tone qualities PocketVerbs has. It's huge because it has multiple reverbs to switch between, and the way I implemented that was not easy on me. I've honored that in the current version.
    You get chambers, rooms, springs. You get a PaulStretch type effect. You get Zarathustra, which is like that but dark and distant and vast. You get a strange gating effect not present in any other plugin, just as it was: this lets you completely and totally reinvent drum sounds even on a stereo mix. It's a dual-mono design so you get stereo localization out of the space-ified, gated, reinvented drum sounds. Or, you can try whatever other crazy tricks tickle your fancy.
    It's PocketVerbs. It's here, it's free, it's yours. Go bonkers… and have fun.

    Seems like a great sounddesign tool. A predelay would be a perfect addition.

    I have a ton of verb plugs but this one is super cool. Can use it on anything to guitar leads to huge space pads and such. Mega dank for sure.

    Wonder if you could make a reverb like this but add an x and y control for sound source placement in the simulated space and add 2 more x and y controls for left and right mic placement

    • @PianoScoreVids
      @PianoScoreVids 4 года назад

      Given that the code for pocketverbs is a couple 10.000 lines long this seems like a pretty high demand

      @@KOSMIKFEADRECORDS well, here we go! for the "carbon mic simulation" I use sustain 0.0.347000
      grain 0.174999 and dry/wet 0.869000 . There's also a configuration that sonds (at least FOR ME) like reversing something. It's sustain 0.791000
      grain 0.870999 dry/wet 0.922999
      I'm not a producer or something. just a musician who likes to try things in a more "unusual" way. And use reaper (don't know how it works in another DAW).

      @@KOSMIKFEADRECORDS btw, it's SUPER easy to build your own carbon mic. just use the mouthpiece of an old dial telephone (it's a carbon capsule), plug an xlr pin, turn on some phantom power and IT'S DONE! you can use the the earpiece from the telephone (a dynamic capsule) to build a lo-fi mic. this video may help you

    Good job! I'd like to politely request that you turn up the sound running through plugins, a little bit, in future videos. I find myself turning up in order to hear it better, but then your voice becomes too loud.

    Does it mean you use one reverb on Leftchannel, and put another reverb, differently adjustemented on the right Channel? It anyway sounds good. has a solidity to it!

    I mean most musicians won't be able to understand wth ure talking about and willing to bet that most people who do, are less focused on making music & more on software/gear...
