"These songs didn't make the final cut for Atonement," says Jesse Leach. "Choosing which songs make an album remains a tough process for me. While the songs that made the most sense appear on the album, I'm still attached to every song I write. So, when the idea came up to put these B-Sides out and donate funds to a charity, I was relieved at the idea and the band unanimously agreed to the cause. I am proud these songs get to see a release, and to help others in the process is a huge bonus."
He continues, "These songs were written during a very difficult and uncertain time of my life. They are written with two perspectives: that of a struggling, angry, frustrated man having a crisis of faith, life, and love and a man finding the will and the strength to change perspective, try again, and to fight through it all. Although these songs may not have made the cut for the album, they are deeply meaningful songs that I believe in whole heartedly. Lyrically, they are some of my favorites that I have written. From the very personal 'Hollow Convictions,' 'No Devotion,' and 'I Feel Alive Again,' to the battle cry songs of 'Killing of Leviathan,' 'Prophets of Treason,' and 'The Great Beyond,' it tells the story of my journey and my view of the world around me."
The singer finishes, "Big thanks to Metal Blade for partnering up with us on this! Also thank you to Center for Disaster Philanthropy for their amazing work! Lastly, thanks to all of you for purchasing the songs and contributing to helping those who are in desperate need during these uncertain times."

recorded some tracks at zing in 2000 with adam. I was 18 and so nervous..adam lightened the mood by telling me what he was going to do with my mother lol...it was hard to not smile every time he spoke. Our band didn't do shit lol but the few weekends I got to go there and record were amazing. 20 years later,Im so happy they are still going strong and tearing it up

@King Greed I think, because at the time Howard was battling his Demons and body and was swiftly losing interest in the music. Incarnate was definitely their big come back though.

17:45 - the bridge section with Adam on vocals gives me a Times of Grace vibe. Love that variance in tone, always wished they'd used it more in Killswitch. Can't wait to hear more ToG
i love times of grace! it's been a while since i've heard them, i remember at one of their shows jesse held my hand while screaming his lyrics it was so powerful as he gazed into my soul haha it was the best experience ever since KSE is my favorite metal band that got me started listening to metal and playing guitar \m/

If you have a cd burner, you purchase this new album, and then burn a new disc and add all your tracks into your own personalized order. I'm really disappointed that Cd's are going obsolete. Glad that most artist will still produce Cd's and vinyls for online purchase though!! Which comes to the next question, will KSE make a physical CD copy of this album for purchase?? I would love to get a physical copy!

Having a strong Christian Metal vibe as I hear these songs... Shame these songs were cut out, especially Hollow Convictions and Prophets of Treasons ( Track 2 text is poetry and Track 6 melody is ominous and epic at the same time) !!

These songs are all amazing. Killswitch is one of those bands that constantly write bangers. Cant wait to see you guys in a show again. Hopeful thinking here, but I would live a complilation album of all the songs that didnt make records from all of the releases. Something like that would be absolutely amazing, something similar to what Maiden did with their box set many years ago.
This is a really good collection. I feel Alive Again hits incredibly close to home after the week I’ve had.

@@MegaCodgod99 , I respect your opinion, but I'm going to disagree, I have children that suffer from depression and anxiety, and I envy the strength it took Jesse to candidly put such a private piece of himself out there, if it's not your cup of tea, that's cool, but personally it hits home for me, and I cherish all of those as some of my favorite works of theirs.

Bought it and love it. I think it's a great way for bands to connect with their fans and use it for a good cause. More bands should take note. I'm new to the KSE world. Saw you guys last summer with Clutch and was like, wow, they rock. I went out and got all of your albums. So any other b-sides or live shows you guys have, you ought to throw out there. I'm sure others like myself would buy, donate to get.

Initial thoughts: Good on you guys for taking care of your own. These are bad times for all and every bit helps.
-Killing the Leviathon is a fun track. Would probably be a crowd pleaser during live shows but I get why it was kept off. Thematically very different.
-No Devotion is a great track! Whoever made the call to pull that from the album should be kicking themselves or be kicked. Solid hit potential. Up there with Serenade, Curse, Rose type feel. EXCELLENT SONG!
-Prophets of Treason- Another great track. Plenty of grit and depth. I would be curious what this was pulled from because it seems like a good fit. Clean vocals are really good on hook. WE CAN ACTUALLY HEAR THE BASS LICK ON THIS SONG! Do this more. 🙂

No Devotion brought me back to Alive or Just Breathing. I'm going to go on a limb and say this is some of their best material. Good assessment.
Seems pretty obvious these tracks were held last minute for charity purposes... these aren't typical B sides... these are all incredible songs and 100% of the proceeds go to COVID relief, read the description guys.
Makes you wonder how many more of these gems are sitting on a shelf....
