Your videos give me the feeling of going on many adventures in Japan that I may not ever be able to go on. Thank you for the hard work that goes into your travels and videos! Warm regards from the USA!
Oh wow! I have never heard of this before. It's absolutely amazing, and I'd like to live there myself. It reminds me of my house -- rambling, cluttered, and occasional Ghibli decor! Thank you for bringing us with you on your exploration of this unique structure!
What an incredible place! I did feel sorry for the pig in such a tiny enclosure but the pig and its home looked extremely clean. The second cat was so aloof 😂 What an incredible place with its rooftop gardens, Menagerie and roof top vegetable garden. Thank you so much for sharing this amazing building ❤️
Toujours au top, encore une video surprenante, le Japon est vraiment un pays tres riche en surprises . J'attend avec impacience votre prochaine production.❤❤❤
I'm five days new to your channel and was hooked from day one. Liked and subscribed immediately. This episode of the few I've been able to watch thus far is by far the most interesting. Very interesting. I can't believe one can live there full time for under 300. The only thing I did not like was the caged pig. But otherwise this was a likable adventure. You do such a great job on your channel. Thank you.
Its amazing that it was built by a couple with no building experience. I would have liked to have seen them. Very interesting with lots of cool spaces.
I deeply respect what these folks did to make this mansion. same time, I also think that building looks wildly unstable and I would be scared to set foot in it. You are clearly braver than me lol
That might be your strangest adventure yet! The place looks very homemade but cozy too. I can't believe the Japanese authorities leave the place alone.😆 Itsuka-san, it might be best not to try the homemade elevator!
You find such interesting places! I always enjoy your videos, and hope you have so much fun travelling to interesting places! Now I'm tempted to watch my favorite Ghibli movies!
Great video, what a unique building to be honest, built by couple, something I can only find in Game, but not in real life. The corridor is bit creepy because no human activities. The room isn't bad and really worth it.
You have a lovely front page, but where are the sparrows? Greetings from Finland, we have 30 centimeters of snow on the ground. You have wonderful videos
Ok this is neat! Thank you for showing us. Those car parking stalls are so tiny!! Looks like they wouldn't even be able to get out of their car once they parked it lol.
So much I could talk about from watching this video, I think you should do more of these types of videos (you can create a new playlist too). Thanks for the upload Suka! Google Translate: このビデオを見て話すことができたので、これらのタイプのビデオをもっとやるべきだと思います(新しいプレイリストを作成することもできます)。 Sukaをアップロードしてくれてありがとう!
I think it's heaven for those who are used to living alone and if there is a lot of money I'm sure he will build his own house that has many functions so he won't get bored, houses in Japan can also withstand having their own architecture and comfort, wood also cools the house during hot and cold and you can say that this mansion has many attractions
I don't understand. If it's illegal, why hasn't the government condemned it? In California, we have strict building codes to ensure the safety of building occupants during earthquakes. Building plans must be approved in advance before construction can begin to make sure they meet the requirements.
I think it's a case of, "It wasn't illegal when it was built, but it would be now." Like how many old houses would no longer be up to code but the US government doesn't do anything about them.
Of course, under Japanese law, this is an illegal building. Although the government gave instructions many times during construction, the status quo has been maintained since it was completed. The reason why the administration cannot take strong measures such as destruction is that it is bound by the law that respects the rights of individual property. (This is also the reason why Japan goverment is slow to secure land for roads, railways, airports, etc.)
Great video, an interesting look into something unusual. However the living conditions of the animals appear highly unsatisfactory - too little space and no shelter from the weather. That makes me unhappy 😢
15:59 OMG is that gas being piped in to that burner with a tube!?!?!! And the water corroding the basement - that's what caused the collapse of the Surfside condo building in my country a couple years ago. 98 people died. That place should be shut down. It will probably cost too much to destroy it, but people should not be living there.
that's why it has to be built ready-made below instead of above like my house, I'm used to having a gas barrel in front of the kitchen and the pipe is quite hard so I'm not too worried
I was in Kochi last January. I went to see 3 of the 4 original castles on the island. Kochi has trollies from the train station. Very cool but more complicated than you would think. Some go straight and some turn. Some old ones go to the castle. I stayed at a hotel near the castle for $60. Does this mansion except reservations in English?
I looked up the mansion online. The best I could find was "Technically" Illegal. Nothing that says why it is illegal. Zoning, building permits, building materials? What's illegal?
Current Japanese law requires that blueprints be submitted to the government and a building inspection conducted before construction begins. However, there are also arguments that it is illegal because it is not done here.
@@sugumi8886 Thanks. Makes one wonder how they got that far into construction before the government caught on. In the US, you need a building permit for something as simple as replacing shingles on your roof. The city usually won't come to check it out as it's usually straight forward. I have a oil heat with a tank in the basement. The old tank started leaking and I had to get a building permit for that and someone from the fire department came and checked the work. Same when I had my bathroom refurbished. If they know the people who are doing the work and they have never had issues with those people, it only takes a couple of minutes. My uncle was a plumber and the plumbing inspector for 3 or 4 very small villages. If it was new constructions and you put the pipes in and then covered them over with the wall, he'd make you take the wall covering off. More than once he found very poor installations. I don't know what kind of building insurance there is in Japan, but I'm not too sure an insurance company here in the US would be all that enthusiastic to insure a property that didn't follow the rules.
@@dlewis9760 i mean its pretty obv that place was not built to the countries building regulations but it was built at a time when they didnt need that so i guess they just leave them be im sure if part of it collapses or some one gets seriously hurt the goverment would step in an get it shut down an removed
@@dlewis9760 Because it was built before that law passed? If you knew how many houses in the US weren't "up to code" I feel like you'd have a heart attack.
Interesting place, to say the least. But as for staying in it, I'll pass. Too many stairs and an extreme lack of notable safety equipment. The bathroom looked like an up-scale outhouse.

Amazing. Thank you so much for this video. I wish we could live in appartments within a community like that not only in Japan, but around the world.

You wonder if they have sustainable vegetable garden, not sure if they raise eggs or that pig is a pet or going to be meat at a later date.
This was kind of scary to me.

It's amazing what the power of love can create. It's a fair price for both tenant occupancy and overnighting! Thanks for sharing, Itsuka-san! :)
I absolutely love this place the character and absolute care that was put into this masterpiece of a building is insanely commendable!

They might have other places to keep them indoors that we didn't see, and those are just outdoor time pens so they get fresh air.
