Hi Alice. Anna here. I’m really looking forward to Elif Shafak’s new book. I love her work. And you’ve certainly given me a few others to add to my list. Thanks for another great video😊
Have you heard if Donna Tartt is coming out with a new book this year? After all, it has been 10 years since the Goldfinch came out. She tends to pit out a book every 10 years…..Secret History, Little Friend, Goldfinch. I’m ready for her next one. She is one of my favorite authors. I’m enjoying your RUclips channel!
I was really looking forward to A Witch's Guide to Magical Innkeeping by Sangu Mandanna, but it's been pushed back. 😢 I've only read one book by Ava Reid, but I'm excited about Lady Macbeth.
I am melting at 40 degrees on a forced by life problems voyage, so hearing about autumn 🍂 reading 📚 makes me extremely happy. And yes, I made peace with myself, I love reading, but I love pretty covers, and this selection doesn't disappoint. I just finished The Last Devil to Die, so 8 can't wait for the next book from Richard Osman. How I said on another video, I can't wait to retire, to read all the books I am influenced to have😂. Have a great week, Alice, and everyone! ❤❤❤
I LOVED both "Garlic and the Vampire" and "Garlic and the Witch".. And I'm so excited that the author/illustrator is coming up with a new graphic novel! Thanks for the info.! ❤
The sequel to the Sunset Years of Agnes Sharp by Leonie Swann is coming out this fall, I am excited because I loved the first book (a cozy mystery type of book, you may enjoy!) but something about the synopsis is giving me pause. Either way, I will be picking up We Solve Murders and Agnes Sharp and the Trip of a Lifetime! You've given me a couple more to put on my radar though!
Hi Alice, you should definitely read The Briar Book of the Dead - it's about four cousins witches and their grandmother who come from a long line of witches except one of them doesn't have any magic in her. So she struggles to fit in and be useful to her family until one day something happens and she discovers she's got a power although it's not quite like the powers her cousins have. So she keeps it a secret while trying to unravel a few mysteries involving members of her own family as well as some strange things happening in the farms outside of town. I'm reading it at the moment, I've got 100 pages left and it would probably be a 5 star read for me depending on how it will end but it's got everything you like, I promise you won't regret picking it up!
Great recommendations, thank you! There’s also Susanna Clarke’s ‘The Wood at Midwinter’ coming out in October, as well as ‘The Book of Witching’ by CJ Cooke, earlier in the same month. I’ve also pre-ordered ‘The Haunting of Hecate Cavendish’, which is out at the end of August, and seems like something you might also enjoy.
Didn't know about the new Richard Osman book. Thanks. Kate Atkinson has a new Jackson Brodie book coming out soon. Death at the Sign of the Rook. I thought she was done with him. I'm happy I was wrong.
Intermezzo is the only new release I’m looking forward to this fall. As for Beautiful World, Where Are You, Rooney doesn’t do her magic until the last 90 pages, so you have stick it out until that point (if you want to).
All of the books you mentioned sound very good! I’m looking forward to Haruki Murakami’s newest novel in six years, The City and Its Uncertain Walls. It was already released in Japanese in April 2023 and will be released in English on November 19th.
oooh a new Bree Paulsen release!! i can't wait!! i also have a huge backlog of Ava Reid to get through 😅 'What The River Knows' is my biggest disappointement this year so far 💀 don't think i'll pick up the sequel altho it does sounds fun. i was also excited for an adult adventure book but it read VERY YA and i found the overall plot super predictable.
Yessss I’m super excited about that release too! 😍 Too bad you didn’t love What the River Knows, but thanks for sharing your thoughts, now I know I’ll expect more of a YA vibe ❤️🥰
I am excited for some of the ones you mentioned here are some more for you to see if they interest you.. Grady Hendrix Witchcraft For Wayward girls, The Book Of Witching by CJ Cooke, When the Moon Hatched by Sarah Parker, Hex and Hexibility by Kate Johnson, Jenna Levine My Vampire plus one, Like a Charm by Kerry Barrett, Immortal Dark by Tigest Girma, I loved you in another life by David Arnold, Morbidly Yours by Ivy Fairbanks, The House by the Cemetery by Lisa Childs, The Coven Harper L Woods, How to Find love in a Bookshop by Veronica Henry, The House Where Death Lives by Alex Brown, Witching and scheming by noelle Ryder, The Deep by Alma Katzu, House of Bone and Rain, Four weekends and a Funeral by Ellie Palmer, The Wedding Witch by Erin Sterling, House of Glass by Sarah Pekkeanen, Moonlit thorns(Midnight Manor) by P Payne, Bringer of Dust by J M Miro, Rachael Harrison So Thirsty, Through the Midnight Door by Katrina Monroe, Library of Lost things by Laura Taylor, Grimstone by Sophie Lark, Fall into you by Caroline Frank, Nevermoor Bookstore by Kerrigan Byrne, The Curse of Nona May Taylor by Jess K Hardy. This is a lot I know haha but they all sound so good and trust me I have more on my list. Look these up see what u think I would love to know if u also think they sound interesting
I don't remember if you liked Everyone in this family has killed someone, but the 3rd one will be released in October, it's a novella and it's called Everyone this Christmas has a secret 🌲
@@christinemartin8549 yes, she has been posting about it in RUclips, I’m intrigued as it’s not young adult, but a witchy story about a woman who is late 20s/early 30s
What the river knows was also disappointing to me. However if the author plays it right the next book could turn the first book on its head. Depends on how she twists things up. Then again it could also be disappointing 😂 I do love the covers though.
Hi Alice, you look GREAT in red! One of my best colors too(my hair is almost all white). Sounds like some interesting bks. coming up. I get very excited over Fall EVERY year. It's always been my favorite season but also for reading. Cool, crisp, cozy, reading days. Take a thermos of hot tea and read in the park! There's a book I want to get for Fall called The Last Witch Of Scotland, don't remember the author's name. Thanks so much!🤗
This makes me want to go to the book store and buy all of them! 📚
Hi Alice. Anna here. I’m really looking forward to Elif Shafak’s new book. I love her work. And you’ve certainly given me a few others to add to my list. Thanks for another great video😊

So many books and so little time! Happy reading to you.

What The River Knows is okay. I’m not spoiling anything but I just hope the second book is a little better.
❤️🥰
Hi Alice, Lucy Jane Wood is a well know RUclipsr in the UK. High hopes for this.
Oh, I didn’t know that, that’s awesome!! 😍
I saw the name and was wondering if that was her book. The Jane part threw me. 😊👍
