  • Join me on my very first adventure bike riding experience. Why would I start out with the biggest and one of the most powerful adventure bikes on the market? Phantom have you lost your mind? ... If you are a newer rider, and really dream about buying a 1250 GS but are afraid of the height, weight, and power then this is the video for you. I was not sponsered in any way but i would like to give a shout out to #X8MOTO at X8MOTO.COM for the smooth and professional rental transition. If you are anywhere near eastern Pennsylvania, and are looking to rent a GS I would definitely give them try.

    If you like the boxer engine and the performance, you should try either the R1250R, which is the standard naked version, or the R9T, which appeals to older guys like us. I’m 5’4”, and I can handle both. The GA, not so much.

      Thank you @mikeandmona6584 !! I eventually did ride the R and the RS.(my R video is not yet posted on my channel). I haven't tried the R9T yet, but fell in love with the RS and am now currently thinking of ways to scrape up enough money to get one! Lol.

    Close throttle to quick shift down.
    Hold throttle open to quickshift up

      Thank you @pallotey810!! You know what, I thought it didn't have a down blipper but I wasn't completely closing the throttle when trying to quick down shift. Lol. 🤣

      Slightly close the throttle on upshifts and fully closed throttle on down shifts for smooth shifting 👍

    The quick shifter works downward if you release the throttle first

    5 ft 8inch with a 32 inch seam is not short!!! There are a lot shorter people out there that ride a GS

      @@brents1643 hi bud. Just recently I tried a 1250 gsa and managed it fine. Make sure you ask for a lowered suspension one, you should find that you can handle it fine. I am 5’ 7 and manage with ease. Good luck.

    I'm 6ft 4,so no probs for me,but I think lowering a GSA, it doesn't look right to me because it's supposed to have high suspension 👍

    • @phantomrider22
      @phantomrider22  10 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you @braineaston3748!! I agree, in my opinion I would not tamper with the suspension to lower it.

    For God sake man change friggin' gear, I couldn't watch it 'till the end I was cringing too much, did you ever get out of 4th? Why are you riding along on an open road at 60mph and you're still in 4th?

    • @phantomrider22
      @phantomrider22  Год назад

      Thank you for your advice!! I didn't think I was that high in the revs..🤣🤣

    • @mickemmett6828
      @mickemmett6828 Год назад +2

      @@phantomrider22 Well you were, it's a big torquey engine why keep the revs high like it was a 125cc, you should have been in top for most of that ride, your mpg must have been terrible.

    • @brianeaston3748
      @brianeaston3748 7 месяцев назад

      Yeah,ride the torque and short shift,most of the power is low in the rev range,even in top gear,you can cruise along and keep the revs low and get good mpg👍

      @@phantomrider22 hi if you have fly by wire you dont have trottle cables . easy to see. "Ride by wire throttle eliminates any mechanical linkages between the throttle body and the hand accelerator"

    Ok for testing the height and the GS fuss but it’s something else you should be looking at. I also love the power train and I don’t need off roading stuff then I just got a R1250Rs. Nice video ✌️
