OMG I searched for this answer for like 4 hours now!!! Every other video I found had nothing to do with what I was trying to accomplish until this!!! Thank you SO MUCH! This was so simple and well explained!!
@@ChrisMenardTraining one question, if I want to have to the thousands, but still display with a comma if it is millions is that possible? For example right now using the formula you showed, my text for 2,000,000 displays as 2000K , but is it possible to make it display as 2,000K instead, and if so how do I modify the formula to make that happen?
Can you make a video explaining how to calculate (formula), time x rate - for example, in a field I have hours and minutes (e.g. 00:35, 1:45, 1:14:12, etc.) - how can I write a formula to multiply that by an hourly rate? Thanks!
Thank you, Chris! How about Hrs in the ten thousands. Ex 62004:25:00 shows as 00:00:00 in the pivot and I am unable to change the time format to [h]:mm:ss in the raw data? Liked and subbed😃
How do you run a calculation that takes an existing number 64.9 and converts it to 64,900 within the same cell (not a new cell in a different column)? I'm using Excel 2016. I've tried googling it and used many different formulas suggested online, but none of them produce the results I need.
Is there a reason why you don't want to multiple it by 1,000 in a different column? I don't believe it is possible with Format cells to do what you want. I can add zeros before the number with format cells, but I don't think I can add zeros after the number.
Can you please explain in laymans way,,, how did u get to find 0 or , or # ...i mean how the formula or system works I really don't understand, could u be kind enough to explain these ...( , or # , 0 before number)
Need help, how to convert 1,236,730.00 into million without affecting the value. Your formula convert it into 1 million what about the rest of 236,730.00?
The sheet will still hold the full value so if you for example needed to run a sum formula with that cell and another then the sheet will still use the raw data of 1,235,730.00 when doing the calculation regardless of what number is displayed visually in the cell.
Your video is still helping - thank you so much for the straightforward solution.
You're welcome!

Thanks mate, Easy on using that 'Number table' and if you don't want to show k or M just put '0 and space' no comma. This is what mostly wanted
Clear and simple, thank you!

Works in Excel desktop versions. I haven't tried it on the web version. I'm on a PC.
If I have a data set with millions and thousands, is there a way to get them abbreviated in 1 column?
hi mate. How do you display large number sequence in columns. For example i want to display 1000, 1001, 1002,,etc to 1300
In A1 type 1000. A2 type 1001. Select both and autofill down to 1300
@@ChrisMenardTraining Thanks for that info Chris

Hi Chris in the same example if I wan to eliminate and want to report the number in million is it possible?
1.25M instead 1.25 only
I also need to know, In my case its also mixed with M and K - so if by any chance you've figured it out by now, I'd be very thankful!
I still can't find an example of how to do this with a table containing numbers from millions to billions. Can anyone help, please?
