You know with the way paper is pressed when it is made, all the microfibres flow in one direction in the paper. As a result, the paper is really easy to tear in one direction, but harder in any other. This is why sometimes you tear it and you get a really nice tear and other times it's all over the place. The same is true of kitchen and toilet tissue (though obviously they use perforations to make it easier to tear). Just thought I would drop some paper facts. You know how it is.
