Kapono was a machine, one of the best (maybe top 3) in this contest (I think he has the record for more points cumulated in 2 three-points contest’s finals in a row (with previous system with no money-balls rank and no 3 points ball).
Steph Curry won 2 of these contests, I hope he will win at least 1 more, to tie the record of 3 three-points contest won of Larry Bird and Craig Hodges. He would definitely confirmed that he is the best 3-pointer of all-time (if it’s not done yet).

Isn't it because of the sponsor AT&T and before cell phones the phrase "long distance call?" That's gotta be it. Announcers used to call the shot 3-pointers during regular season games. "Long distance" was obviously a play on words to accommodate AT&T who was the sponsor.
It's not exactly about winning the 3pt shootout event, it's about being clutch as being clutch it is. Bird is one of if not the best clutch shooter i've seen so far. Him and MJ🤷

Yeah thats some oldhead ass thing for coaches to be teaching. Nothing wrong with using your left thumb to help the ball come off the release smoother aslong as that ball is going straight. Some people flick their whole left hand with the thumb, that is the problem with shots going all over the place, flicking the thumb but left hand is straight don't cause problems

This video only shows the championship round of every year, there's the preliminary round before this so stamina and fatigue comes into play, most of them average 20-25 in the first round, Curry used to get 31 in which year I can't remember.

all the furor this week over JJ Reddick's comment that Bird is not top 3 all-time three point shooter...well, apart from all the statistical evidence that Reddick is correct, Bird's underwhelming performance in the 1986, 1987 and 1988 3 point shooting contests pretty much supports what Reddick said. Compare any one of these years with Curry...there's just no comparison.
