    A fantastic learning video especially the "Cleaning Cycle" and other "Work" modes. My coffee maker is a Saeco Vienna Deluxe about 10 years old. Thank you Brendan, Kat & SCG for this video and all the others you have produced. I did have a problem of coffee/water not coming through enough to make a full cup of coffee and then a solid red light would come on. I found a video from Germany that showed how to clean out the "Flow Meter" and water hoses inside the coffee maker - it fixed my problem. I found a tiny piece of coffee bean stuck in the hole of the Flow Meter that was the size of a pencil tip end that was limiting the flow of coffee/water. Note for Kat; you have to stop filming Brendan's hansom face so much and focus more on what his hands are doing..... lol Many thanks again for what you two do for the caffeine craving crowed. Cheers

    I was researching an an issue in which my machine won't grind...just goes direct to giving me coffee (with no grinding step), and I found this. Doesn't apply (yet) but I'll play with test mode when I get back to it. Thanks.

    Hi, super helpful ! tested all functions on my saeco vienna plus and all seem fine, except that when I tested the pump with the steam valve closed and in work position, water came out of the spout but also to the drip tray.
    When not in test mode, coffee is brewed , but about ⅔ of it comes out of the spout to the cup, and about ⅓ of the water is leaked to the drip tray ( as clear water , not brewed coffee)
    Have descaled both the panarello and the coffee spout
    Any help troubleshooting this would be greatly appreciated !

    Thanks for sharing. One tough for everybody. As soon as I push the main power button the grinder starts working and never stops. It's not the doser switch. I assume the problem is in the main circuit board. Please confirm or share your suggestion. Thanks.

    Can you put a cleaning/degreasing tablet in the brew unit and run the water through in test mode to clean WITH a tablet? I used to have a Solis Automatic and it had a cleaning cycle that used degreasing tablets. It was more effective than just rinsing with hot water. I dont want to chance creating a problem using a cleaning tablet, but thinking that this might enhance the cleaning (degreasing) the brew unit.

    Hi Brandon,
    We have a Vienna Plus and has been working great for about 5 years, but just this last week, the frother has stopped working properly. It does shoot steam out, but it overheats the milk without frothing it as usual, so that it starts making loud popping noises, and then eventually the milk just starts boiling. Any suggestions? We've been cleaning it thoroughly after every use and descaled the machine about 1 month ago. We will try descaling again this week, but this is something we have never experienced before.
    Thanks! Your videos have been very helpful!

    After removing a Stuck Brew compartment & throughly cleaning it, & re-positioning the compartment to neutral position, the gear on the inside the Saeco Villa machine will not turn into the neutral position. I can no longer fit my brew unit back into the slot. Is there anything else that I can do????? I did the whole nine yards by placing the index card into the slot to engage the micro switch to switch on. The gear turns a little like it would normally but, the gear in the machine is still in the wrong position. Any further assistance appreciated.

    Thank you for these videos, they are super helpful. I have an issue/question for you.
    I have a Saeco Vienna Plus. I got it back in 2012 and it worked flawlessly for about 3 years. I maintained and tried to keep it clean as possible to ensure things always worked. After 3 years, I moved and it has since been in storage for about 2 years. I cleaned it before storing it as well so it would be ready to go when I would use it again.
    I've recently pulled it out and set it back up at our new place. Everything fired up and worked well the first morning. Then today, I went to brew coffee this morning and there was a painfully slow drip out of the brew unit. You could hear the pump working and trying to get the coffee out, but its just a very slow and tedious drip. This was causing the pump process to last a really long time as well, just trying to get the desired amount of coffee out into the cup. I've tested the steamer and there seems to be good pressure discharging from there.
    One thing to note, although I've kept the moving parts cleaned, I've never descaled (my own ignorance as I didn't realize the importance). Although in the descaling video, I saw you only used the steamer.
    After watching this test mode, I now see how you can just run hot water through the brew unit. I will try that next to see if I can help flush it. Is there anything else I can do? Would it be smart to use descale product through the brew unit?
    Sorry for the long post, any input or help would be much appreciated!! Thank you!

    • @SeattleCoffeeGear
      @SeattleCoffeeGear  7 лет назад

      Doing a descaling would be a good idea, especially since it's been in storage as the scale will build up over time. The brew group is dishwasher safe, so re'd recommend taking that whole unit out and either hand washing or putting it in the top rack of a dishwasher. ruclips.net/video/_Pue328O8XM/видео.html

    • @swisski7
      @swisski7 7 лет назад

      Thank you for the suggestions! I will try descaling through both the brew unit and steamer, and then also put the brew unit through a cycle of the dishwasher. Hopefully this works!

    Anyone still listening? I could use some help. I get water from the steam wand but when brewing, no coffee is dispensed though dry grounds are ultimately ejected into the hopper. Research suggests this is likely a broken boiler valve. However, I am able to run water through using test mode and the unit will then brew a cup normally for the next cycle or two. Is this still apt to be a broken boiler valve? Thank you.

    Hi, please if you could help me with a problem. At minute 3:40 you perform an action where you make a change of the water valve so that it comes out of the group and not of the steam. My coffee maker doesn't make that change even though I press the button, it's clearly not working properly. Can you give me any advice on where to start verifying it? It doesn't make any sound when pressing and trying to make this change.

      You may have already fixed this. Turn the dial to 7 o’clock and press button 2 (steam button) to move brew unit to work position. Green light should indicate it is in position, however go by feel. If you go too far you will get a red indicator. Once in work position press button 1 (brew button) to begin flushing the brew unit and lines. I use powdered citric acid and water in the reservoir to descale. After a few hours repeat this process to flush clean water back through the lines. Good luck!

    I have the Vienna deluxe and was able to run the test. Thanks! My problem is the steam function. It runs for 30 seconds or so then the red light goes solid and the steam stops. There is plenty of water in the reservoir. While the steam is stopped I can turn the control back to water and hot water flows. Why does the red light go solid and steam stops?

I have done the two button proceedure exactly as shown several times and nothing. Any ideas? I suspect the pump is broken and wanted to use test mode to confirm. I have cleaned all the supply lines and the flow meter was spinning properly...

We would need the machine to evaluate it further for repair, or if you’re not in the area, you could contact Saeco for a closer authorized repair center: 800-933-7876. - Miranda

    Hello Brendan, Thanks for your great videas about the Vienna Plus coffee machine. I have been enjoying this machine for almost a year now but recently it start showing troubles at the end of the cycle when the water goes through the coffee into the cup. At the moment it hardly goes through, the pressure goes up and the red button turns on. When I use the turn valve on the right the water goes out and the pressure is gone and the machine will try agian.
    I have tried your test mode and everything seems to be working.
