You touched on it at the very last second, but I was gunna say, it's my personal opinion, the reason that Storm is beefing up covers (S77 to 83 for example) across the board, is to help offset the hardness differences of the past. It also seems like Power Edge is more responsive to friction that Step 2 was, which also factors in, but that's just to my eye, unsure if it's true and haven't seen any scientific comparisons or tests.
Yep, totally agree. I think R2S now is actually just R3S renamed. All the sudden the new IQ Tours are stronger and really good, so I think everything got a bump, and stuff that was already strong like NRG looks actually even better now at a higher hardness so it's not as early and smooth, it actually has some shape to it now, etc.
@@danielcunningham7169 pretty sure he's referencing the IQ Ruby which was notably stronger than the Emerald (even though it's supposed to be the exact same cover) but that's when we first started noticing the cover "upgrades". At the time many of us thought perhaps it was just the color red, but after a while it seems like a trend was developing.
Id love to see it and hear your thoughts on it after you put some surface on it. Maybe try to bring it to like a 1000 grit then put the power edge on it or just simply take the shine off and get a 3000 finish.
How does this compare to the No Doubt? With the cores are so damn similar, I'm curious to know how different they actually are.
No doubt is definitely a little stronger and more defined, this one is weaker and rounder

@LukeRosdahl what's this about the new IQs? I haven't heard about them changing significantly

Getting mine drilled as I type lol
What was the layout for the zgl?
If the zgl is cleaner. Shouldn't the zgl be technically better for deeper angles than the 25?
Doesnt look as good as my Road Warrior,..I dont see you changing the ball surfaces like you did before,..???
All depends on the ball really
