Wore the wrong shirt for the moment”. Seeing this tells me that it probably was cool and he was likely wondering if I was somebody he knew. Nope. I’m a nobody who loves drum corps. 😆
So many lines are insane this year. Hard to tell how things will turn out, at this point I could see pretty much any top 6ish corps getting the sanford.
Whatever you changed in recording at 7:43, do more of that! It brought out the ring of the tenors and cleanliness of the snares. ❤ Just like being at the lot.
That’s the audio from the internal mic on the camera because I forgot to push record on my external recorder. While it does pick up the snares and quads a bit better, it tends to “wash out” some of the articulation and it doesn’t pick up the depth of the bass drums. That’s my personal preference though; if RUclips gave the option for split audio sources I would upload both!
They definitely have the toughest book this year as far as drum lines go. Very high exposure and that bass drum line is something else. If they can clean it up more which they already have a lot. There will be nothing, holding them back from taking the Sanford. With this much time of the season, I think it’s going to be who wants it the most because there’s so much great competition for finals in 2023. Go SoJo👏👏👏👏👏
Also.....little thing.....can someone please pull the slip on Amares' drum one down a tad? You can see a thin white line at the bottom of the drum that stands out from the slip either being too short or not pulled down enough. I know I know....who cares. But me with my OCD keeps noticing it. Lol
Getting cleaner for sure. Historically I am not such a fan of the rhythmic interp of the devils, tempos fluctuate to accommodate the sound quality and I just like it better when the tempo is held and rhythms aren’t modulated. Nevertheless, hard book, cool book, good stuff.
3:00 to 3:14 is pretty rough for blue devil standards. I feel like the snare line just wasnt hittin for 2023. Too much dirt. Anyone else feel the same?

Go ahead and hate me for saying this too (completely unrelated): DEI inclusion must be an absolute fucking nightmare for drum techs.
