- Losi Hammer Rey first look and drive. #rccar #losi
The all new Hammer Rey from Losi is a very impressive looking RC truck.
An accurate sale replica of an actual truck, but does it run as well as it looks?
Should you save up all your money and buy one?
hopefully this video will help with your decision.
I'm a big Losi fan and a scale junkie so it was a slam dunk for me, but its not cheep so you may need a bit of convincing before you make up your mind.
As always my film making was aided by the beautiful country I call home.
It may be freezing and rain 3 times a day but I love Scotland.
Anyhow, enough chat

Because I think the Losi Hammer Rey is such a cool car to look at and the Hammer Rey has dropped considerably in price, I am watching all kinds of RUclips videos to get an idea of what this RC is like in practice. The Hammer Rey is portrayed negatively in many videos because of the body roll. But people forget that this well-executed scale car cannot handle the steering wheel turns at full speed. But the original full-size car can't do that either. Just like in real life, you probably just have to do your best to keep the right side of the car up. I suspect that with a realistic driving style it is an RC that you will have a lot of RC fun with. I would also like to compliment you on the very beautiful cinematic way of portraying this car and for the honest review. Thanks for creating and sharing. 👍👍👍🎦🆒👌
I LOVE THIS RC OFF ROAD HAMMER REY FROM LOSI!! I DREAM TO HAVE IT!! 😍
Its a great car, hope you get to own one 👍
Thanks for checking out the video.
Just found your channel; fantastic video style and presentation! Although I am no RTR guy, I watched the video with a big smile on my face ;-)
Keep up the good work!
Glad you enjoyed the video
And thank you for taking time to comment, much appreciated 👍
I am a fan of scale realistic RC vehicles and this one looks great! It also seems that you have the perfect conditions there to run it. I guess it works better on a surface such as sand or loose dirt where it has a chance to slide rather than grip and overturn like I have seen it doing in so many videos I've watched.
It’s definitely a scale (large scale) truck rather than a out and out basher.
And once you drive it accordingly it’s great fun.
I can definitely recommend it 👍
@@ChasingplasticCars I have a Losi SCB in my RC collection and it slightly put me off the Losi brand but the Hammer Rey looks much better. Of course it is quite a high price and there are some other great machines available at the moment so it is one to think about...
Great running video sir
Glad you enjoyed it
great job mate...looking most fun desert car🤩
keep going bro🏆👌
Thank you, yeah it’s a pretty cool rig.
The scale rating as far as the way Losi rates them is based on power systems. Same esc that is found in the Losi DB Pro, LMT, And other 1/10 scales can be found. Next is the 1/8th scale like the Losi 8ight and some other examples run on 6s. Then bigger stuff like the Super Baja Rey and Super Rock Rey run on 8s and that puts them into a 1/6 catagory. Then they have their larger RCs like the DBXL and 5ive T models. The reason the DBXLE is still considered a 1/5 scale is because it started its life as a gas version, the DBXL 23cc V1 and just changed to an electric version by popular demand. Hope this helps. At least on the Losi spectrum.
Thanks for all the info and taking time to comment ❤️🙏
Great video. The Hammer Rey is awesome. I bought both colors. The green one though will be my runner outside.
Nice to have both 👍
Hello,nice video great perspectives!👍
Greetings Seven😎
Hi Seven
Great to hear from you & thank you for your kind words 👍
@@ChasingplasticCars 😀
Just ordered one for 299.99 on horizon
Andy that looks a fantastic little beast (not so little haha) but i loved the way it drove on that beach and some nice camera angles as usual. Cracking color too i have to say, i really have to take my SBR back to a beach soon.
Thanks Gerry
Aye it’s not a small rig, not that much smaller than the SBR about the same size as a UDR.
The beach is always fun, just all the bloody sand in everything! Car, camera, workbench 😀
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
Thank you 🙏
I couldn’t tell from the video where you were in Scotland, but we plan to hop in our rib 🚤 and head towards Portpatrick sometime soon, probably take the crawlers over for a blast on the rocks too… oh, and a pint too 🍻
Im in the North East (originally from Sheffield).
Plenty of good crawling spots up here.
And even more places for a decent pint 🍺 😁
@@ChasingplasticCars we will be heading over from Northern Ireland, Portpatrick is 20 miles across the Irish Sea from us, so it’s a handy run ( when the weather plays ball) 🤣
Which is rare for either of us 🤦♂️🤷♂️
Haha, aye we get 4 seasons in one hour here 😀
Great vid 👍🏻
Thank you 🙏
Any thing with over size wheels, higher than the roof, it's a basher ,
Good review ,💯🎯🇬🇧🌄🔥💚💚
Never heard that before, genius I might use that 👍😀😜
$300 in the US, $800 in Australia.. We get so ripped off.
i like it but think its a tad narrow 👍👍😀
Yeah it could do with being a bit wider for sure.
Chasing plastic Cars confirmed with vitavon this morning they are building the stub axles and front drive similar to the SBR but for the hammer with 10mm offsets to make it wider and in 17mm hex!
Thanks for the info
Definitely be investing 👍
Is it worth the money in your eyes as a scale basher?
Yes, I’m really happy with it.
It’s only slightly more expensive than the Baja Rey, but you get so much more truck for your money.
Yes I love mine
Все ещё не сравнится с Losi baja ray
What kind of camera did you attach to it ? Looks awesome
Thanks Chris
Cameras used for the shoot were
GoPro 7 black
GoPro session
Insta360 one x2
👍
I like realistic rc cars and can’t afford a udr so I’ll be getting one at some point
That’s a really good point.
Compared to the UDR it’s actually not bad value 👍
@@ChasingplasticCars plus the fact it’s a losi so most of their existing platforms share some components
It’s 1/10 scale cause electronics and diffs and parts are all 1/10 size. Exocaged said it best “looks like a hotdog “
Ha, hotdog love it 😍
Looks cool but drives worse than a 3s arrma.
Just picked one up on towerhobbies for 100$ off. Man I’m pumped
Wow! Awesome bargain
Hope you enjoy it
No it's a waste of money
Why do you say Waste of money? I Bought Two of them last week. I haven't used them yet and will be a few weeks before I do because of winter
@@Newport1974 I was just picking it is a beautiful looking vehicle for sure is it gonna perform is good maybe I guess I'm just biased coming from eighth scale buggies those are the real deal. However you can get them on sale right now at a main Hobbies for 299+15% off
Yeah I wasn't in the market for one but I accidentally ran across it and was shocked on the price so I went to a hobby store that's 90 minutes away and bought the Red one and then 3 days later decided to buy the green one from there also. I might just hold onto them and resell them later. People have been buying them at full price also with no hesitation
They are OK but you need to spend a lot to make them good, out of the box handling is poor.
@@Newport1974got one a few weeks ago. Really like it. Fast and capable.
