    Thanks for this! Just ordered 3 for only 6 euro's a piece here in The Netherlands for the Packtalk Bold.
    My current solution was to drill 2 small holes in the Shoei part and use small bolts to connect the cradle to the cover that way, but this is much nicer.
    Never got why Shoei started this deal with Sena. Who wants this? If you upgrade from Air 2 to Air 3 you need to by a new Sena system as well?
    It almost puts me off from buying Shoei...

    Thanks for the video and idea! I have Bold, so i used the other stl file, but unfortunately it (the project) was made very poorly, one side doesnt fit the helmet, other side doesnt fit the Bold 😢 Im afraid I'll have to resort to the tape 😢

    Hi Steven, thank you for sharing ! Did you encounter any problem when trying to fit the 40mm/10mm JBL loud speakers inside the helmet ? (Because initially the SLR2 loud-speakers are much smaller - roughly 30mm diameter)

    I see as of September 2023 that Cardo has come out with a Shoei Adapter to take the place of the Comm Cover on the Shoei helmet by default. I ordered one and I'm disappointed to find it is just to be held in place by adhesive. I would have thought it would have plastic prongs like the one it is replacing to simply hold it in place. I had placed an order (and then cancelled) to have one of the 3D printed ones. I wish I would have kept that order as it looks like that one has the prongs to hold the device in place, not just 3m tape like the Cardo version.

    • @faraway5828
      @faraway5828 10 месяцев назад

      The Cardo one uses VHB tape, rather than the clips that Shoei (and the 3D printed ) use,. This pretty much renders impossible to remove. Seems poor solution

    • @virginiatrailcameravideos
      @virginiatrailcameravideos 10 месяцев назад

      @@faraway5828 Agreed. I ended up placing a new order for the 3d printed one and will probably try to return the Shoei one. I made a video on my other channel about it. ruclips.net/video/LA2EbWgcpxE/видео.html

    • @calebmarsh5
      @calebmarsh5 8 месяцев назад +1

      Unfortunately, I believe they can't make the actual SRL2 prongs as it would breach their contract with Sena. A 3D printed one is going to be your best bet. There are options for most units out there including one for a universal comms and is just a blank flat piece that sticks out.

    • @virginiatrailcameravideos
      @virginiatrailcameravideos 8 месяцев назад

      @@calebmarsh5 Thanks for the note. On my other channel about bikes, I made a video about this. You are correct (well very close) as Cardo told me it would violate a Shoei patent. On my video I shared a copy of the email from Cardo. I obtained a 3D printed one, installed it, and haven't looked back. It's working very good. ruclips.net/video/u1SiGgiQgig/видео.html

    Hopefully there’s going to be a 3D adapter for the Neotec/GT-Air 3 that’s out now in Europe and maybe in the US by spring.

    very interesting solution you found.. congrats. Cardo does not make an clever (flush) adaptor for their PackTalk systems. This guy does. I also understand that for EDGE and BOLD are different adaptors. I have two BOLDs in my other helmets and looking for a third (3) comm to pair with the other 2. Once I have the 3rd comm (which I still don't know which model) Can you order the adaptor for me? There is a SENA SRL3 for my Neotec 3, but its difficult to pair with the Cardo. I'm far from UK, so its difficult for me. Thank you

    I followed all the steps in your video and my experience was that they forgot to ship my product, when I received my product it was the wrong colour (I ordered black and got white, black even showed on my receipt) and the quality was absolutely terrible. Wish I could add a picture here. It looked like it had been dragged on the ground for miles. I have had to email them for a refund. The 3-D print adaptor is a great idea in theory, but the result was terrible for me. I'm glad your experience was better than mine.

      No, the 3 uses the new design (SRL-3), which has a different shape.
      I assume there will be 3D files for the SRL-3 connection in a little while.
      (This also means that if you had a 2 and bought the Sena, you need to buy a new Sena when you upgrade to a new helmet, adding 50% to your cost, crazy decision to go with dedicated system, I'm sticking with my Cardo's)
