I figured this was an ecoboost. My 2017 raptor had phaser issues. Dealer took 7 weeks to fix. Came back 3000 miles later. Are these and the ecoboost phasers similar?
But the whole internals of the VVTi gear are contained, so even if any part (pin, spring, or other) breaks, it will stay inside the gear and never reach the timing chain space. Isn't that the case?
I want to know why are they using a spring that seems to be out of a mechanical pencil?
