Check the seals around the taillights

Hey man, I've had a 93, 96, and 97 Cougar. It's most likely leaking from the tackwelded area between the quarter panel and the trunk. The paint will be cracked where the water flows down from the roof. Go inside the roof and have someone spray the trunk with water and you will see the leak, it will be on both sides. Had this problem with all my cougars once they got past 10-15 years old.

yea i found out later that year that was the problem and i used silicon to fix it until i get time and money to buy seem sealer and put it on
