@@joecheffo5942Easy. I come from a family of alcoholics. I started drinking very early in age. Drank for well over 15 years before I stopped. I used to drink a 750ml bottle a day, several back to back weeks in a row, not an exaggeration. My temptation, my lust, was alcohol. I couldn’t help that I was raised around it my entire life, or that I was predisposed to become addicted. I went to rehab several times, and at best I would learn to slow down on drinking temporarily. Once I accepted that Jesus Christ was the Father in the flesh and that he died on that cross for our sins, it took me about 2 months to quit cold turkey. I was addicted to sin. My sin with self indulgence in alcohol is no better that Brendan’s sin of laying with man, nor is it better that I look at women with lust than it is that Brandan looks and men with lust. The point of accepting Jesus Christ as your savior is to live as pure of a life as you humanly can through knowing that God is there to protect you, including being protected from temptation. Being gay doesn’t mean eternal damnation, but shamelessly giving into gay desires (or any sexual desires) might, and certainly advocating for it will. I’m not sure how Brandan will be judged, but boy, I nervous for him. May god have mercy on his soul.

When Paul ( mentioning homosexuality) says that it's wrong in the eyes of God he says clearly that in the beginning God's intention when he created man was for him to have a female companion and that anything else besides that it would be a pervertion of God's design.
In the beginning God created man and woman because he had a plan for them and Paul clearly stated that plan.Christ then said "Man will then find a suitable female and leave his father and mother to form a family of his own", that's God's way but this perverted young man wants to change God's ways and original plan to suit his own ways which are motivated by his own feelings and carnal desires!.
The act of homosexuality in itself is perversion and sinful independently on the context which is performed, if this lost gay pastor can not see the difference it is because he is not allowing the word of God to speak😢😢😢

a sinful nature is our identity, Brandan. An identity that God is making new through the process of sanctification. Being white is a part of your identity that God doesn't ask you to change because it's an accidental, amoral quality. Homosexual desires may be a part of your identity, just like heterosexual desires are part of 99% of heterosexual male identity. However, what we do with our desires is the issue. Lustful desires, outside of the bonds of marriage (see Gen. 2:24 for a definition of marriage), and especially physical sexual encounters outside of marriage, are something we are expected to deny. Jesus said, "if your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out!" This is a clear statement prohibiting sexual immorality, regardless of our identity as heterosexual or homosexual. In fact, Brandan, this is a clear example of Jesus commanding us to "deny our identity," when that identity is sinful.

He walked away and the demon possessed manafter Jesus cast out the demon he wanted to follow him and he said no go back and tell everybody what God has done for you. This phrase people always say “God loves the sinner but hates the sin” is unbiblical. The Bible says “God hates all workers of iniquity” the person, not just the sin. And the deceitful are “abhorrent to Him”. (Psalm 5:5-6). In other words this gay person that twists the Scripture in order to suit his sin, it is deceit and abhorrent to God. He is a worker of iniquity, hated by God, until he repents. If you don’t believe me, you will see just how much God hates people and how abhorrent they are to Him, that He will be able to put them in a fire that burns forever on Judgement Day.

    Christian- “yes”
Gay Christian- “So like when the Bible says “On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your ox, your donkey or any of your animals, nor the alien within your gates, so that your manservant and maidservant may rest, as you do.” Its not really a moral duty to give people rest, its perfectly moral to make people work 365 days a year with no day off nowadays?”….

When Brandon's position is stated clearly you can see how frail it is. It is not based on Scripture. He appeals to those with itching ears and man is he a dangerous person to bear the title of Christian. Is he saved? God knows. But he is certainly indulging his sinful passions and claiming that to be a good thing, so I have significant doubts. I am gay, but I have been abstinent for 40 years. Today being gay is the smallest part of who I am.
My major problem is that I have been abused by a devout father since the age of three. He had narcissistic personality disorder, and he took great joy in causing me pain and humiliation. my first verbal memory is of my father reading the story of Abraham, trying to sacrifice his son. My father then said that the only person more important to him than his family was God. So I thought if God asked him to kill me, he would do it. He wanted me to be proud of him. I was three years old. The second major incident is when I asked to stay outside a half an hour longer so I could see the fireflies. My father’s response was, but I could do so if I gave him back everything that he had given to me, including my clothes, and walk the 70 mile highway through the swamp to New Orleans. I was three. when the hurricane came and wiped out the little town we lived in I lost track of my only friend. My father saw that I wasn’t talking much, auntie asked me if I missed my friend. I said yes. I would never know if you lived or died. My father thought this was the funniest thing he ever heard. He laughed at me. I never trusted that man again, and I was right.
In junior high, he believe that I was gay because I had befriended someone who was called “fa99ot”my father assumed that boy and I were having sex. I didn’t know what “fa99ot” meant. I was afraid that the boy might kill himself if he had no one in his corner. I believe this because my mother constantly threatened suicide to me. Because of my active charity and bravery, I was now ostracized from my entire class. Gradually, I figured out that I was attracted to other males. I read the words of Chrysostom who said the men like me are better off dead, and that were worse than murderers because we destroy the soul within the body. I made enough to God that even if I was damned, I would not lead anyone else into damnation.
A strange thing happened in college. in my first chemistry class a young man, my age who is handsome, athletic, considerate, and humble walked down the stairs into the auditorium. my first thought was he has to have children. Then I thought what it would be like for a little boy to have a father like him. The little boy would be so proud of his father, and wants to grow to manhood to be just like his father. Then I thought of the man meeting his future wife. I imagine the joy she would feel just if he smiled at her and said hello. I imagine that he would be a better father than my father as well as a better husband to his wife. In that instant, I realize that not all men were bad like my father. Shame kept me from talking to this man for three years. Every time I saw him, he was busy trying to make someone else feel comfortable. After a while, we became very good friends for seven years. All the while I dreamed of him getting married and having children.
Yet all the time I felt shame for being attached to him. It wasn’t until 40 years later, that the only thing I felt for him was admiration as if he were a beloved father or a beloved brother.
This experience led me to a way to eliminate improper thoughts and feelings, especially around straight man. All I had to do was imagine the best future for a man and I no longer felt anything like physical attraction.
This tells me that my real problem wasn’t being gay. Rather, it was my father‘s degradation and abuse of me that I had so many disturbing thoughts.
I’m under treatment for PTSD from the abuse that I had from my parents. I have learned to distinguish between the admiration and sexual or romantic attraction.
I have become friends with amazing fathers. There’s nothing I’d rather listen to than them talking about raising their children. Of these friends are thousands of miles away.
I believe God offered me this as a solution to my problem. Since I have a genetic condition that has caused me to contract eight different kinds of cancer, I need to strengthen my will to live all the time. I am determined to die a natural death . I am determined to contribute to society until the end.
I still believe in God, but I avoid churches. I don’t want to know Christians, who will tell me, they love the sinner and hate the sin. I don’t wanna know Christians, who will tell me how to run my life when they have no idea what I’ve been through in order to survive and still love God.

Question: "You did not quote one verse in scripture where God puts homosexuality in a positive light" Is there a single verse where we can justify the use of glasses. If your sight fails why do you seek to counter that in a "worldly" way. Some things are not in the bible because the bible was writen in a caltural context and does not represent all things that are possible. One day we will have people living on the moon, how does that change things we believe from the bible. That is why we have the Holy Spirit to help us deal with life as we experience it. Another thing is the morality about heart transplants and medical interventions like pacemakers. What does the bible say about that.

Brandon misses that the eunuchs were not that way by choice. They were forcefully castrated. And it had nothing to do with their own feelings of sexuality, it was because they were slaves and had no choice. A eunuch could have felt desires for men or for women, the castration had nothing to do with what those desires were or were not, so I don’t find this a very compelling comparison to homosexuals.

The Bible clearly and consistently declares that homosexual activity is a sin (Genesis 19:1-13; Leviticus 18:22; 20:13; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9; 1 Timothy 1:10). God created marriage and sexual relationships to be between one man and one woman: “At the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’” (Matthew 19:4-5). Anything outside of God’s intent and design is sin. The Bible teaches that Christians are to live for God, deny themselves, pick up their cross, and follow Him (Matthew 16:24), including with their sexuality. This disconnect between what the Bible says and what some people feel leads to much controversy, debate, and even hostility.

This guy brandn removes the very authority of christ. If you look at what paul says in 1cor6 paul talks about Christ being the gead and we being part of his body.
He also asks are we to use the body of chriat to merge with a prostitute?
Then in vs 19,20 he says tgat our body is the the temple of the holyspirit (spirit of holiness ,holiness being seperate from the world).
And we are not iurs but we are bought with a price and belong to God therefore both our body and spirit are God's.
Now going with that analogy christ is the head of the church and he determines what happens with the body.
He has already stated that the only form of marriage or relationship is the one stated as man and woman being one flesh. If you are truly a follower of Jesu you will take his words as truth and authority not what you "think" or" perceive"
Christ has not become your lord so you are still living by yoir standards brandan. Whe christ becomes tour lord you will do and see things from his perspective.
According to paul i we are going by his analogy thesame way he condemns relations with prostitutes as using christs body to engage in things that don't glorify God is thesame way you are using your bOdy which is God's to engage in homosexuality which is actually despising the head.
Also,Mat4:4 says man shall not live by bread aline but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Meaning the way you order your kife is not by your appetites(whichwas fundamentally what the devil was tempting Jesus on) but on what God says is right...not what you feel or think is right brandon. Everything you are doin negates the authority of the Jesu you claim to follow.
He may be your saviour but he is not yet your lord because if he was Leviticus 18 would also apply to you,.. i mean this God himself talking. And remember brandan all scipture is given to us for teaching, reproof, correction that you may stand perfect..
It says all brandan not the ones you agree with or you feel fit your narrative.
The fact the were written by God the holyspirit through men Should make i your standard.
We all struggle with lust of different kind our ability to acknowledge and go before the throne of grace to reçeive mercy and grace to overcome is what makes us fOLLowers of christ.
I am inclined to women,i am sexually active(meaning i get turned on too by themand want to have relationship with them) but letting that control me and start sleeping with anything under he skirt and saying "this is just who i am" is wrong...if i am under the jurisdiction of the christ "i cant be christian and a womanizer/fornicator just like you can't be christian and gay. That is out of Gods order
Also idolatry does not just endin worship of hand made gods it is also worship or giving your attention and your all to something or someone that is not God. Tgat is why scripture Says we should worshio him with all our strength mind and heart because he is aware we could do thesame thing to other things that are not God.
    Even yourself
    Self worship is idolatry
    Sex worship is idolatry
Self Pleasure(masturbation, porn, fornication, homosexuality etc) seeking is idolatry.
Idols are not only of the hands they are also of the heart and that one is the most dangerous
    Much love❤

Typical Brandan...He states his false premise on the Bible...has it obliterated by people who actually know the Bible and then he just keeps re-stating the premise exactly the same way as if this time it will make sense. I've seen him do this with multiple different Christian apologists. He thinks his charm and confident demeanor will cover up the fact that his arguments just don't hold water. But unfortunately, he tells a lot of people exactly what they want to hear so no matter how much he gets hung out to dry in these debates, he just keeps saying it over and over. Even if the building were to be struck by LIGHTNING when he was mid sentence...He still won't take the hint and repent. I'll continue to pray for his soul. ps...He claims that nowhere does the Bible tell him to deny who he is. Matt 16:24 Then Jesus told His disciples, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me".

Im happy that he has a fire for Jesus. But it is also very apparent that he also has a fire for himself. I think many people think the same way. Not just gay and trans people. Many married people abandon the blessing of Jesus. To go after their own flesh desires. And leave their familes to follow the lust in them. At some point we have to turn everything over to God and let him lead, guide our lives. Not do what we want. And form God to fit around those ideas and life choices. Hearing that young man talk. Reminds me of some one that wants to have their cake and eat it to. And its sad that People actually listen to and follow his teachings. But im sure his followers and supporters think exactly the same way. Make Gods word fit around them. Not shape your life around Gods word. Again very sad. And i do believe that even the LTGBQ people can be saved. They are sinning like we all do. Its just the whole twisting Gods word and leading others to do the same. Not good and make excuse for those life choices trying to use scripture and create a church. When the bible is clear on so many things. Wow, again i will pray for him and all my brothers and sisters in Christ. God bless all and thank you Jesus for another day.

The Bible was created for the people, in a way that it was perfectly written by God to cater for all times, so the premise that the laws are focused on idolatry or paganism is a long shot and as much as I want to be open minded I think that the concept is flawed. I believe the real contention is, for most gays is the idea that "they believe in Christ and trying to follow Christ just like anyone but there feeling of love for same gender becomes a question of morality". So they will try to find a soothing explanation that would make them gay and at the same time acceptable to Christ. The Bible speaks not about against being gay but sexual relationship of the same sex. However it would be hard to love someone in romantic sense and have not sexual experience. That is a very hard situation, that only Christ can deliver you from. An analogy but only for the purpose of demonstration, in the old days there are cannibals who thinks its normal to eat people, and then that cannibal suddenly learnt of Christ and wanted to be Christian. How can he manage to fight his urges in order to be with Christ. Very hard scenario if we put ourselves into there shoes. But the Bible si clear, we know what it means, AND Christ can deliver us from this dilemma if we trust in Him.

Dr. Brown argues in the same way that the slave owners argued that slavery is acceptable to God. He holds his Bible as the Southern Baptist did in the South and says, "the Bible says slave serve your masters." The abolitionist held their Bible and said there is only one law and that is the Law of Love. Just read Charles Finney's theology book and you will see that Brandon is reasoning as Charles Finney. Their are several facts that were not brought up in the arguments. First, the list of sins that are a abomination include having sex with a women during her period. I have never seen a video or anyone who supports this verse. Maybe it was just a matter of cleanliness. The Mosaic Law does not say not to have sex with men. It says don't have sex with men as you have sex with women. Maybe that was because it was considered dirty. Also Paul gives the reason for people doing homosexual acts. God gave them over to homosexuality because they worshiped idols. That supports Brandon's position directly. Why would God give Brandon up to homosexuality if he was raised a Christian and serves as a pastor. On the other hand you could say the Dr. Brown would just apply Romans 9 to Brandon and say that God made all homosexuals to be vessels of destruction In order for him to show his power. This idea was supported by the Slave owners that their are people that God curses and hates and we do not need to apply the "love thy neighbor as thyself" to them.
And finally Jesus says watch out for false prophets... by their fruit you will know them. It was denominations like the Congregationalist(UCC) that freed the slaves, it was the congregationalist(UCC) that led to women having a voice in churches and out society, It was congregational churches that led the civil right movement. And it was the congregationalist(UCC) that had the first gay ordained minister in their church. The Dr. Brown would still have slaves if it was not illegal because he follows his Bible as the Word of God instead of believing that Jesus is the Word of God.
