Ledger was a cool guy. He is kinda awkward, fidgety, so he never seems like in PR mode. And he has some magnetism about him. A real shame we didn't get to see more of him.
He also took drugs which if he was craving for his next high would make him fidgety and anxious. Great actor but clearly troubled, after this interview he probably went home and took lots of drugs passed out on the sofa.
This man was supremely talented. His transformation into the Joker was amazing and will always be the quintessential Joker portrayal in my opinion. No disrespect to Jack Nicholson.
+donzaloog1400 Who cares about a movie caracter ? Or any fictionnal caracter ? They don't exist. People exist. People with emotions, fears, angers, satisfactions, joys, ...
+donzaloog1400 what's my point ? morons ? seemed pretty clear, that the guy was talking, and expressing stuff about who he was on this earth. I guess my point is get back down to earth and drop that ''unicorny rainbowy'' vision of life, and listen to people.
I understand his joker role was his best transformation and performance, but please everybody stop commenting things like "oh look at how much he fidgets he's the joker alright" and "oh when he said this he sounded just like the joker, he really is the joker" His joker role shouldn't define him, he was an amazing actor before his joker role, it only solidified it even more after the fact. Heath was far from a "real joker", he was kind, generous, creative, passionate, and full of energy, not a psychopath. Its sad because we lost a really great man and an artist, not just a joker
Guys.. He's a sensitive soul who adapted amazingly to the industry but not as well to the media and publicity. He's a humble anxious guy and situations like this make him uncomfortable, and considering he is uncomfortable he hides it brilliantly but fuck me it's exhausting... I much the same way having mental health issues myself... It's a common theme in hollywood guys people turn to drugs to handle the stress. Imagine the most stressful personal issue in your life, such as a divorce, and imagine reading untrue accounts about yourself and peoples opinions and hate on every single thing you do. That shit is fucking hard and to many people NOT worth the high pay which wont take away that kind of pain and discomfort.
He always looked like the type of guy that you could talk to about everything and nothing, but yet still remain interesting and magnetic. He's so nervous here and it's so endearing! Ah, I miss Heath being around.
Heath was such an amazing actor and person in general. You can tell he had such a genuine heart and I never saw an interview where he wasn't laughing or joking around. The world lost an incredible man
how i wish heath would still be with us today, he was such an energetic ball of sunshine a great father very talented person an amazing actor and a very down to earh guy that was taken from us too soon. he’s the type of person you could always talk to and have a good time with without getting tired. It‘s been 10 years without him already and I still think about him everyday. Heath, you are loved by so many eternally missed but never forgotten. thinking about your family and your beautiful daughter matilda. This shouldve never happen to him just at 28 years of age, gone too soon. Rest in peace, Heath ☯️❤️💔
The most amazing thing is that, despite the fact that he looks nervous and kind of shy, you can see how he immediately seizes the opportunity to play the didjeridoo and he even adds some humor to his performance, showing complete confidence in doing so. I think it is this combination of hesitation and agitation with boldness and self-control that makes his persona (and his acting) so hypnotic. I miss this guy.
Thank you for uploading! I wish we could've seen more from him, he was such a magnificent actor and I can tell was such a kind spirit. I hope he's resting in peace.
And they both played characters from comics : a guy playing with a hammer named Jonathan and a clown who doesn't like serious people because his dad also didn't like them.
maybe its the mom in me, but i just want to wrap him up in a big soft blanket and rock him until he fell asleep. this brilliant young man had no intention of self destructing. Watch brokeback mountain again. Absolute talent, hypersensitive young man. He wasnt made for this world, but thanks for the child and the movies you left.
still amazes me this man was able to do what he did as the joker...Complete transformation...Even tho you can tell it's him as the joker physically, you don't see heath...only the joker
The prescription medication was already taking a toll on him then. Yet the guy went ahead and gave one of the greatest performances ever in the history of Hollywood. Genius artist. May his soul rest in peace.
Is it just me or is Heath doing the Joker fidgets here as well? Haha, he is a true genius. Really used the one thing that actors should bring the most to a role: nuances.
Yeah thats part of the reason he died on an accedental overdose. He had to take a bunch of medication and drugs for his restlessness and inability to sleep.
You gotta be rich to live in Brooklyn nowadays. Imagine what people 100 years ago would think of us today. A near millionaire to live in NYCs most shittest holes. And one must be rich to be an artist.
Is it just me or does Heath seem very jittery. Definitely seems so. Usually interviewees on talk shows unbutton their suit coats before sitting down, signaling a sense of comfort and relaxation before finding a sweet spot. Heath on the other hand wears his like a straight jacket which just intensifies his overall feeling of anxiety. What a catch 22 to love acting yet have to suffer through the obligations of media and publicity. R.I.P and thank you for all the great memories.
I hate that people only remember him for the joker. He was such a versatile actor. a class act, mate.
George williams we don’t . Don’t you ever say that again
To be fair he was most famous for the Joker
Hate is not a great feeling try not to feel hate for such a small nonsense you will feel way better!
isnt that a good thing....
My favorites are a Knights Tale and 10 Things I hate About You.
Ledger was a cool guy. He is kinda awkward, fidgety, so he never seems like in PR mode. And he has some magnetism about him.
A real shame we didn't get to see more of him.
What does PR mode mean?
Nintendonix Public Relationz
Sons of Axe Thank youuuu
💔
He also took drugs which if he was craving for his next high would make him fidgety and anxious. Great actor but clearly troubled, after this interview he probably went home and took lots of drugs passed out on the sofa.
To go from the character in BrokeBack Mountain to the Joker...thats some fucking range as an actor.
Agreed!

Yeah, so? What's your point?
+CSC so what ? enthousiastic freak

I still have no idea what you're talking about. I guess that makes me a moron and I'm okay with that. Been called worse.

Imagine Heath ledger in inception....

As Cobb maybe.
R.I.P to the best Joker out there :,(

He's so fidgety and nervous but you can tell he's trying to hide it. rip baby

Melissa Wassup, baby
Smile You sound like you're 14.
Don't think enough people mention his performance in Brokeback Mountain, personally preferred that performance to his Joker.

9 years later and I still miss the guy. Wish he was still here since his future looked so bright and he seemed like such a lovely person.
Conan is soo cute try so hard to make him feel comfortable
I still can't believe that he's no longer here, he will be always missed. Lovely boy and incredible actor.
What really makes him a babe, you can tell he's really smart and funny. Love you Heath ❤️
Thanks for this man !
He sounds a lot like Chris Hemsworth ! I mean ... Chris Hemsworth sounds a lot like Heath Ledger !
Siddharth Leenus They are both Australian
Sparky lulz
And they both played characters from comics : a guy playing with a hammer named Jonathan and a clown who doesn't like serious people because his dad also didn't like them.
He looks like Joseph Gordon Levitt with an australian accent 😀
Other way around
Yea..except heath ledger is taller blonde hair, overall better looking.
Lol heath ledger doesn't have blonde hair?Honestly

Such a Talent.. Amazing Actor..
He was so adorable.
i love him so much
He looks very anxious.
i think it's the drugs.
lot of people said he was very shy
maybe its the mom in me, but i just want to wrap him up in a big soft blanket and rock him until he fell asleep. this brilliant young man had no intention of self destructing. Heath is easily one of the best actors in the world. I miss him so so much…
6:24 _"Let's talk about_ the Dark Knight" is what I wish he said. Just one major interview post-TDK. Oh well...
this was in 2005 though. Dark Knight wasn't even in production at this point
he recreated the joker. such a good actor. I can't even imagine he is the joker from the video.
still amazes me this man was able to do what he did as the joker...Complete transformation...Even tho you can tell it's him as the joker physically, you don't see heath...only the joker
Legend never dies
By looking at this video you would never believe that he was the Joker
He’s so down to earth ….. not cocky or like ur typical “oh I’m too cool for u” guy
His Voice Reminds me a bit on Chris Hemsworth and he's Australian too.
Well done genius
Oh my fucking god, Heath playing the Didgeridoo. That's fucking hot.
Each time he talks, I just picture The Joker! R.I.P. BEST COMIC BOOK CHARACTER PERFORMANCE EVER!
Nobody laughed when Conan said he was an idiot hahahaaa
Wow not an easy instrument to play. Very talented dude.
No one believed that he could play Joker🔥!
Now No one can believe that he is The Greatest Joker💯!
#TheJokerGalaxy
The prescription medication was already taking a toll on him then. Yet the guy went ahead and gave one of the greatest performances ever in the history of Hollywood. Genius artist. May his soul rest in peace.
الله يرحمه 🙏🏻
One of the greatest ever short lived unfortunately
those jittery gestures, impulsive talks, yet intense eyes ... the joker is in him alright
This interview was 3 years before i played the joker.....
Cocaine was in him alright
3:55 - Jingle bells, Batman smells, Robin lays an egg...
Is it me, or does he kind of look like Joseph Gordon Levitt
Western Lass He looks more like a young James Franco with his eyes open and minus the stoned grin
I wonder if the instrument is still behind the chair?
Why heath why we miss you
It's an extremely difficult instrument to play. I believe they have to breathe in and out at about the same time to get the sound.
I saw "Leath" in the glass window. Both are nice names--Heath and Leath. I saw a kid that looked like him at a local college the other day
5:34
😢😘
😧😧😧
devestating to see people not living to their age and dying soon .. man r.i.p heath
tyt
Hobbits were given their own realm that the Northern Sceptre forbade any contact with the little folk

*"Shfwooh-shfwooh-shwoo-pfffh!"*
*- Heath Ledger* 😏
I can just see the joker buried deep inside him an to think this was years before
You gotta be rich to live in Brooklyn nowadays. Imagine what people 100 years ago would think of us today. A near millionaire to live in NYCs most shittest holes. And one must be rich to be an artist.
Jitteryness is because of coke. Conan even says he seems like he had some "sugar". Thats a code word. Also he rubs his nose
HaHaHa
OMG!!! Hearth Ledger died come january 9 year full holy shit i,am very old fuckin 25 agecrisis

no he doesnt, well certainly not in this interview
More like nervous.
Why do i think this might be a 19 year old saying this or a 35 year old idiot
WHAT?! I LIKE HAPPY HEATH!
Such a shame...Greatness gone too soon:(
Barbecues and steaks for your girlfriend.
he was on drugs here already,he couldnt even stay still
As long as they are rotten hard eggs that's awesome

3 years later, he becomes the joker, later, suicide... strange world... makes me cry
nice clip they chose where Heath doesn't say a word. SMH
I was just thinking that.
He's very nervous looking
