"So I left. That is it. That's my life. Nothing is sacred. I don't keep friends, I keep acquainted. I'm not a prophet, but I'm here to profit. That's all. I'm gone" Senior quote? lol
Ikr! I like listening to the album on repeat, it's very entertaining. Not only is the instrumental perfect for a musical context, but the lyrics can really get your attention. They tell a story you wouldn't want to miss. Someone really needs to write a good musical based on Aim and Ignite. I definitely wouldn't be stingy paying to watch that
l Xephinity I don't think they hate it for being catchy, I think they hate it because other fun songs are extremely underrated while naive "fans" campaign for "we are young" People need to give up on hit songs, give bands a chance because 99% of real fans say "you should listen to their real stuff" about every band.
I used to hate that song when i was young. My mom plays that song and some of the songs she influenced me now. But now that i came across it, i regret every single thing i thought about that song.
the first time I heard this song was the first time I experienced and "eargasm" the climax between 3:16 and the end gave me chills. I'm still chasing that same feeling whenever I listen to this song.
Have you ever wondered about our old nu-metal friends and what became of them? Turns out I saw them a couple of days ago, They were laughing and drinking and smoking and singing. C'mon, can you count all the notches in your belt? I'd rather not, let's just say I'm starving myself. Baby, put your name down on a piece of paper, I don't want no savior baby, I just wanna have a good time Oh, oh, At least I'm not as sad as I used to be. And they said, "Hey Nate, yeah, it's been a while, Are you gonna sing?" And I began to smile and I said, "You should've seen me a couple of years ago, I was laughing and drinking and smoking and singing." C'mon can you count all the loves that didn't last? It's such a gas when you bring up the past. Baby, put your name down on a piece of paper. I don't want no savior baby I just wanna get it out. Oh oh, oh, at least I'm not as sad as I used to be. Oh oh, oh, at least I'm not as sad as I used to be. At least I'm not as sad as I used to be. And they say we would've seen you two years ago Had you stuck around or come out to a show, But youth's taken over by rock and roll, While we were laughing and drinking and smoking and singing So I left, That is it. That's my life, nothing is sacred. I don't keep friends, I keep acquainted, I'm not a prophet, But I'm here to profit. That's s all, I'm gone! That's my life, nothing is sacred. I don't fall in love, I just fake it. I don't fall in love. I don't fall in love.
Too bad, i feel for you. Saw FUN three times and they were as fun as you'd imagine they would be. My "missed" it show was The Strokes, went to Lady Gaga instead...dumb move. LOL
this song, this album and many fun songs remind me so much of high school, i used to listen to them almost non-stop back then, it's always so nostalgic to listen to them every once in a while.
Nate Ruess is so indie pop, he is one step away from writing children's songs. I love these guys, and that last note was spectacular. Can't wait til the album.
This is my favorite Album in the entire wields right now. I can’t pinpoint exactly what it is that I love about it...I just do. I feel this emotional attachment to it and I don’t want to let go.
Whoever said their name pretty much explains their music was totally right. I more of a modern rock kinda person, but their music is really catchy and you can't get enough of it.
Fun like Queen are a band with enormous potential who have just started discovering their style. i am a fan of Queen and to me they are unique but i also agree that Fun are similar to them in a sense. Nate's voice is amazing but very different from Freddie's. Like him though he capable of singing many completely different styles. Fun are the best band of today! and them being compared to Queen is a huge compliment!
Female vocals were by Emily Moore. She accompanied Fun. on this past tour while they were supporting Paramore at the Hard Rock Las Vegas. Didn't know much about them before the show, but am now a fan! RE: Emily beautiful young woman and beautiful voice as well. Glad I was able to run into them at Mr. Lucky's for post gig dinner/celebration. Awesome time! It was also just her birthday last week.
@hopeyouarelivingit I was at the show, I'll agree, we went to get shirts during Funeral Party, so it worked out well that they sucked. First Avenue is so small we didn't have a problem getting our spots back either. Awesome show!
oh my god this song. i can't remember listening to this song, ever, but as he sings 'at least i'm not as sad as i used to be' i recognize the melody and omg it makes me happy
It's not a matter of mainstream...it's a matter of talent. And when talent is real, people are going to like it. Sometimes, a LOT of people are going to like it. That's what is happening with these guys.
easily the best band of the past 5 years and i'm surprised (not that it matters) that they're not getting recognized on mainstream rock radio or even the grammy's.
I frieken love the lyrics to all their songs. this song is powerful. So apathetically devoid of hope and ok with it. And yet the gambler is one of the most beautiful loves ive heard. I love this band.
Me and my sister went to one of their concerts in California 3 years ago and she got a drum stick that they used during the show signed by all the members it was really cool!
I listened to this after a break up made me feel better, until my friend jesi asked if I was listening to sad music cause “it’s not good to do that after what happened “ I said I’m not and showed her the title of the song... she slapped me.
Dude, I knew about fun before they became popular from that song and I was like "NO!!! WHY?!" Because their other songs are so much better than that pop culture crap.
Alot of people have only just heard about fun. because of there song "We are young" and now they've become bigger than ever. I've loved fun. ever since 2010, when I first saw them live becuase they were supporting Paramore on tour, fun played and I thought "Yeah, this band is really good, I really like these" so I'm glad to say, I've been there ever since they were quite little. I've also got there autographs too. I've watched them grow quite a bit. It's like I'm a proud mother of fun. :D
+Mridul Jawahar More like a mix of the two. the lead singer and the style of singing is very similar to Freddie Mercury and the drums are remeniscent of classic Queen arena rock drum beats but then the texture of instruments and album art and image is more like The Beatles
Yes. I've been kind of rediscovering their two albums, as they came out when I was only 4 and 7 years old, respectively. They are now some of my favorite albums, and I really want them to get back together.
definitely one of the greatest songs ive ever heard i checked my ipod yesterday on my laptop and it says this songs been played 198 times(just got the song a month ago)

that's perfect
Im going to use it
i don't know why, but i think that all "Aim and Ignite" album should be in some musical, those guys are pretty good, love them

+Soph Germanotta I AGREE SO MUCH
I think it would be a great musical. some nights might be a nice musical too
Imagine Be Calm specifically... Holy shit!
Honestly "Some Nights Intro" would be amazing for that too!
Is someone still listening? ^^
It's got good cord progression. And nice counter melodies.
definitely
Yes, because many years ago someone said this song reminded them of me. Needing it now.
I am
2021 gang
This song is better than I first thought it was.
brendo At least the songs not as bad as it used to be....eee-eee-eee
Just showing that even in 2022, this song still bangs hard :)
Now it’s near the end of 2023 and it still bangs just as hard!
even in 2024!
It's annoying that people hate on the song 'we are young' for it being catchy. That's when they completely miss the point of the songs meaning.
l Xephinity I don't think they hate it for being catchy, I think they hate it because other fun songs are extremely underrated while naive "fans" campaign for "we are young"

Why can't people just love both?? We Are Young will always be my favorite song, but I love the rest of the band's work as well.
I love we are young but it's definitely not my favorite song from Nate Ruess (including the format and his solo)
so long a way but great point i agree a lot :)
Still here. Still fun. I hope this wonderful music never dies
Best fun. song, truly epic live!
Dude, your channel's amazing! I've been subbed for a year, never would have expected to see you here haha
I didn’t even know about this album till the other day. I wish they made more music. Unique and catchy.
Same here!
So glad that people, few or many, still listen to fun.
Even now, they have 10,000,000 monthly followers on Spotify! Love this band!
Fun is one of the few bands I can listen to an entire album and not skip any songs. (: I hope they make a new album sometime
the first time I heard this song was the first time I experienced and "eargasm" the climax between 3:16 and the end gave me chills. I'm still chasing that same feeling whenever I listen to this song.
It give goosebumps when you sing along
Especially when it perfectly describes where you at right now
It's 2024 now. And I'm still here.
Every single one of their songs is good.
I love how bombastic and celebratory this groups music tends to get.
Right?! Even when they're sad, it's in an upbeat and super happy way.
Plus thier lyrics are depressing as shit usualy so it's really gud if your having one of those nights
A lot of their underrated songs are SO great and catchy, so underrated!!!
still listening 12 years later -2022

While we were laughing and drinking and smoking and singing

"Come on can you count all the notches in your belt?" ...*sips tea*
i dont get it
what notches on your belt means?
yea lol ive listened to this song like a million times but i never knew what it meant lol
notches on your belt are like people you've slept with
Ya but context clues.... In this case it's how many different friend groups have you jumped in and out of in order to be successful
Fun. Is like a new queen, isn't it?
Facundo Portela was
MR_MCNUGGETS_ they will be back...but dont know when
No, no they wont
I just love the fact that they have that older sound to them. Refreshingly vintage.
Shelby Semmelmann imagine listening in 2020 🤠
I want to meet and have daily conversations with Nate.
American Idiot I'm sorry but he doesn't make friends
American Idiot he just keeps acquainted
It’s such a true song about stardom and it’s toll on people... Never have i heard mainstream artists mentioned this before. Rock On FUN.
It’s funny how old this song is because it has a MySpace page listed like god what a blast from the past y’all,
I wish this album exists in my very own place of existence

i miss seeing these guys in concert. kinda having a nostalgia moment :(
Too bad, i feel for you. Saw FUN three times and they were as fun as you'd imagine they would be. My "missed" it show was The Strokes, went to Lady Gaga instead...dumb move. LOL
@@PattyKakes7787 Awww no buddy!! You turned down The Strokes for Lady Gaga? Not that she isn't great and all, but.... damn :(
this song, this album and many fun songs remind me so much of high school, i used to listen to them almost non-stop back then, it's always so nostalgic to listen to them every once in a while.
Please come back boys!!
Some Nights (both parts) and At Least I'm Not As Sad is probably my top 2 favorite fun. songs. Goosebump-worthy at times.
My favorite song lasted over 10 years truly great album
Nate Ruess is so indie pop, he is one step away from writing children's songs.

Nope, and it makes me sad that this mashup doesn't exist
Not exactly the way I would have done the mashup, but someone tried it.

Fun. The only band that is capable of going from strictly piano to steel drums to mainstream to broadway
I think their debut is the best
I love how everything builds up & then there's this breakout moment & it's just amazing & I can not get enough of this band.
They are fun-tastic
3:07 has got to be my favourite part of this entire album. And it's a damn good album.
Found out about this band about a month ago, and ever since, I've loved this band!
I confess, out of all their songs I heard live, this was my least favorite, but this is really good! Can't wait for the new album!! :-)

Alex Hayes Hahaha well then... 0:)
+Chrys Flowers (AwkwardVixen) Yeah, I completely agree :/ Wish they would've stayed with this style.
+James Grabiak Well, I mean, this album seems to be a continuation of NR's old band.
As did I. They're great in concert, teaching us the lyrics and whatnot. =]
So Awesome.
