    Many people who are comparing skirting heating systems like ThermaSkirt and traditional radiators want to know about the connections back to their boiler...
    Our customers are often surprised when they discover that the ThermaSkirt system can plumb back to their boiler or heat pump just like a traditional radiator system, and be controlled in the exact same way.
    In this video, I discuss how that connection is made, and how plumbing up to a ThermaSkirt system is simpler than most people think.

    I like this system. It's compact, discreet and straightforward to install. Outputs are adequate for the modern well insulated house, and they perform well with lower temperature flows. My advice is to follow the instructions and plan ahead to be sure that the first fix connections are accurately placed.
    One issue I have experienced is with out-of-true surfaces. If the wall is flat and straight all is well, and the skirting fits snugly, with the top trim strip seating well. However if there is significant out of true then the lengths need to be pushed back hard to the wall surface. Even then the trim strip does not always cover the gaps.
    My solution is to fit a suitably sized UPVC strip, trimmed to the wall shape and lightly glued in place.
    I like the slightly tongue in cheek tone of your video too!

      Thanks for your comments Steve, and you're spot on. If the instructions are followed it's perfectly DIYable.
      Regarding the wonky walls, our installation teams often bend the skirting before offering up to the wall, which looks completely mad but works surprisingly well. 👍
      Perhaps we can do a video on wonky walls in future. 😀

    And I can imagine how often that thermostat valve at floor level gets kicked and breaks by people mostly playing kids.

    How does it affect the wall sockets and plugs that are set above the skirtings? Thanks

    So TS heating is more similar to the infrared heaters? It wont dry out air?

    I like the idea of the heat source being low down. Do the push on fittings cope with 2 bar pressure alright?

    • @thermaskirt
      @thermaskirt  Год назад +1

      Hey John, yes all of our fittings are tested to 10 bar, and when we install genearally we test with air to 4 bar before full commision.

    Do you have a supplier in Canada? Or if you are thinking of a supplier who would it be maybevi can talk to them one of my clients sold a product similar to your over 20 years ago it didn't cache on I i installed a modcon natural gas boiler for him running lower temp then the original oil boiler. It works awesome. When he told me that was also heating his garage with all his tools , cabinets ect,ect,ect . I was not able to see any of the rads 21c in garage -35c outside. I would absolutely recommend plumb skirting to my customers.

    I have been looking for something like this for a few years now. it looks ideal for what i want, but would be interested to see how your wireless system works. I have a tado main thermostat for the house, controlling the boiler and would like to fit the tado remote trv's to some of my radiators and also to the thermaskirt, would that be possible?

    • @thermaskirt
      @thermaskirt  Год назад

      Hi Ken, The easiest and neatest way to integrate Tado with ThermaSkirt would be to use the wall mounted thermostats wired back to a two port valve. If you're not emotionally tied to Tado, then there are significantly more sohpisticated systems available which provide a whole house solution
