Thanks Hans, great review again! When you tested the M1 with an external DAC you used the SPDIF RCA output on the M1, hence locking in the clock. What was your consideration not to use the USB output? In that case you may have benefitted from the (better) clock in the external DAC, right? When I'm comparing my M1 using the Denafrips Ares II external DAC, using USB versus COAX I hear a significant improvement in "space", in "airiness" compared to COAX. In fact, the difference between the internal DAC and the ARES II over COAX is audible but quite slim. Keen for your thoughts!
Hi Hans :) Does a silent m1t plus forester lps and with the snowy white silver dc cable can make a major upgrade in sound quality compared to a wimm pro with a lps? My audio system is quite revealing ;) Many thanks Ilan
So what is in your opinion the best sounding Streamer up to 1200€ that has an AES Output. Sonnet, Metrum, ??? Because I am currently in search of a streamer replacing the streaming function in my Minidsp SHD.
@@TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel Thank you very much Hans - I appreciate your work and you are doing a great job. Nice for me is, that my mother comes from Weert and I speak Dutch fluent as well.
Very good review again Hans. I am considering the M1T (transport only) as I already own a Bonn N8 and a Forester F1. Both versions are available with 2, 4 or 8Gb RAM. The most difficult choice seems to me the Bastei DC cable as Silent Angel categorize those with musical differences (human vocals, pop, classical (all silver version) or jazz music) and I like all those kinds of music...;-).
I would start using the standard DC power cable and after ono or two months try to borrow all four cables from a dealer and compare them. The differences might be subtile to some and more noticeable to others.
@@TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel I know your review very well and functionalities comparison is easy. But not the sonic one. I got the N15D due to your review and l am happy about it. I find it better vs Zen Stream. But is the Munich M1 upgrade on sound?
Thank you Hans, for another great review. You helped me find a setup I am very happy with. Much appreciated. One question: you spend quite some time o power supplies. Have you ever thought about reviewing power regenerators. It would seem logical, as they strive to do some of the same, but for all your units. After some trying out I ended up with a ps audio p15, and Im very happy with it. Was easier to hear the difference than I thought. Was clear to my wife as well
No, I did. Back of napkin math based on cost difference. Is there a $1000 DAC under that metal shield? I’m not criticizing you-I’m questioning a $1200 DAC based on a $45 Raspberry Pi 4.
Köszönjük!

Thank you Hans for a such wonderful and thorough review, appreciate it much!!!
My pleasure!
I always enjoy your reviews Hans! Big thumbs up for the Fink Live concert you mentioned. Outstanding performance and recording!!!
Glad you enjoyed it
i would appreciate a review of their M1T streamer. thank you
I'll check it out
thank you and looking forward to the new Denafrips streamer. this is a endless journey@@TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel
I see you're a man of culture with a proper Depeche Mode catalogue. Exciter has some awesome bass extension.
I don't hope that qualification does not depend on Depech Mode only😁
Great review as usual Hans, thanks!

Does an elephant has a trump🥴
A friendly request, would be awesome if you could review the Merason DAC-1. Thanks
Noted!
Have you tried the Bastei cables on the silent angel bonn n8 switch. Does that have an improvement on the sound?
No, I haven’t. I didn’t have a Bonn 8 at hand.
Thank you!
You're welcome!

The Munich is not limited to using the Forester as an alternative LPS?
Of course not.
@@TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel thanks for the reply. Maybe the LPS I've reviewed was faulty. It did read -4.96v

Hi, how does it compare to a Lumin d2
I have not reviewed the Lumia so I can't say.

De Forrester komt 1 ampere te kort en is dus niet aan te bevelen
@@TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel super bedankt, dan zoek ik verder naar een andere streamer groetjes 👌😍😍
If it was possible to change OS if someone wants, this would be a huge plus for the unit!!
It would have made it impossible for the manufacturers to support it.
@@TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel if the drivers are not proprietary not so much I guess…
How this one performs vs the CocktailAudio N15D on sound quality? Any memory or A-B comparison is appreciated.

The problem with power conditioners and the like that seem to be sensitive for the kind of grid and there are clearly different world wide.
$1200. For a Raspberry Pi. I don't get it. Is the argument this is 5x better than an Allo BOSS2?
I don't recall saying five times...
