- A plane carrying Pope Francis arrived at Kennedy Airport in New York on September 24, 2015. He emerged from the plane and greeted clergy, dignitaries and the public before boarding a USMC helicopter bound for Manhattan.

First of all, who calls the Triple 7 a 777 and second of all there is no TaRMaC
"Shepherd 1" is not a plane, it is the Pope's call sign. So yes, this plane carrying him is indeed Shepherd 1, the Pope doesn't have a private plane. His call sign is portable & is used only for him regardless of which plane they chartered for him, but only when he is onboard.
According to Wikipedia, the callsign "Shepherd One" is a myth and isn't even used.
