Another good video Joe! I have the OX4 low winds in a replica LP and I love them but I have often wondered what the Hot Duanes sound like and now I know. Mark is steeped in all things Pafish and he has done a great job of making a hot PAF whilst still being very much a PAF pickup. They sound great! Glad you are happy! Joe, we all have the right to be here, we all have a journey to make and we all have a story to tell and you are telling yours eloquently. I hope you take that as encouragement.
My ears "perked" up when I heard you say they may be your favorite pickups for clean tone, that's quite an endorsement from you. And yeah, they sound awesome, blows away the muddy humbuckers in my Les Paul, would love to put a pair of these in there. Thanks for showing us the good stuff once again, Joe, and nice playing too!
Aha! Yea, it's so sparkly and chimey, which I really wasn't expecting! But yeah...I'd happily use this for clean tones alongside the 330, Strat, etc :-)
Thanks, Joe, for another great video. There sure is a wide range of tones available between these pick-ups and clean/crunch! There were some bridge pick-up tones that were annoyingly nasal when clean but its distortion tones were fabulous. The neck pick-up has that wonderful clarinet-like tone when picking near the 12th fret (17:46). It's useful to hear your patterns played on multiple videos to emphasize the featured gear - 15:48 demonstrates a new nice snarl not heard from other gear.
They are pretty bright (which for me is good) but a quick turn of the tone knob shelves off any harshness there might be with certain sounds. Playing similar things is more a lack of creativity & talent than a purposeful way of comparison...but I'm glad it works! hah
Hah! And yes, I generally try to get my demos shot as complete takes if I can, and not rehearse them...prefer them to be spontaneous and play whatever comes to mind, even if that does mean it's a bit of an overload of rock riffs at times! :P
You rock brother! Thank you.

Absolutely....100%! It's a PAF turned up to 11 rather than a modern-voiced pickup, or anything like that :P Thanks for the kind words :-)
Rock on!
I've been trying do the same with my 2005 Epi LP CUSTOM. The Gibson Classic 57 Plus really helped in the bridge. The stock Korean pickups were harsh.

The perfect example of tone chasing and winning now I know what might work in my baby elephant thanks Joe.
Aha...I'll take that! :P Cheers mate!
I have these in my R8. Fantastic rock pickups while still retaining warmth and clarify. I love them. They sound great in your guitar as well!
Yep, absolutely...they're everything I love about a good PAF without the things that made low-output 'classic' PAFs not work in this guitar :-)

Thank you for this video. I found it very helpful and I ended up getting a set of Hot Duanes for one of my Les Pauls and I couldn't be happier.
Amazing to hear :-) They're killer PAFs!
Duane Dibbley? Love 'em! Wait... was the performance section one take? Velcro fuzz bonus!!!

Sure sounds good Joe, now enjoy your great LP! Write us a great tune!
I shall do my best! :P
Unpotted fukkas? Right? Cheers bro ❤
Very much so!
You had a custom shop Les Paul for 17 years?? You got it at 5 years old?😂
Hah! I'll take that ;-)
