This is a VERY GOOD amp. I have one TB35C2. It has a very natural overdrive, superb touch sensitivity and loud and it loves pedals. The footswitchable macho is the icing on this cake. The amp is for all CLASSIC Players, not for modern players. The sound in this video isn't as good as the amp sounds in natural, believe me. Tony Bruno did a real great Job. Hat's off for him.

I can't believe Tony Bruno had something to do with this amp. I've heard quite a few Bruno amps, and all of them have been amazing.
That Firebird is simply AMAZING. My god.
It's a really good amp, I think people don't like an American voiced VOX. Wonder what a set of AC30 type EL84's would do to it in place of the 6V6. It's under half price now so would still be cheap to find out (relatively speaking).

Well the slo stortion sounded incredible! And the bypass cranked sound. The Cleans sounded great but not so much pushed. Great tones to be had if you're careful :)
Is it me or does it sound wooly and muddy? It maybe sounds better on some other videos I've heard. I wanna know more what the cleaner sounds are like.
Since it's hangning there on the wall, I would think that it was another of their subjects for reviewing that day :) We may be in luck!

For small venues this will be fine plus if you're in a larger area chances are, that they will set you up with a PA system so you'll be covered. Bottom line, you should be perfectly fine gigging with this.

It has it's moments, i think you can really fuck up your sound with it but it's not a bad amp. Then again i'll have to go check it out myself to say that for sure.

The distortion is fucking amazing, but only for certain styles. Id like an amp to have a more... versatile distortion. If this amps distortion circuit (plus tubes) were available in pedal form Id buy it in a heartbeat though :)

I'm watching this again, just for those 2 Les Paul's in the background. That firebirds pretty sey as well.
I don't think that a 35 watts tube amp couldn't be utilized... in fact, anything under 30 watts would not really be enough with a little stronger drummer. You'd have to crank tube amps to get power amp distortion which is - at least in the case of Class A amps - pretty important to the overall distortion character, so I think a tube amp should be cranked. For clean tones, it's a very different league, but I also like my clean tones cranked and rolling off some volume. Matter of taste, really.
Your demo of the TB18 sounds a TON better. Maybe something was off in the recording?

I love the Bruno's and I love the original AC30, and I love Chappers, but man, I don't like the way these amps sound. I was excited when I heard that Tony Bruno had a hand in voicing these. I thought, WOW, maybe a poor man's Bruno! But I'm sadly disappointed.
Don't forget about those LPs around it.
I'm still waiting for a proper Epi dot vs Gibson es-335 review with the same amps and setup...
It sounds at its best when you turn off the master volume. Though that's not saying much. Still I'm pointing out that there is a way to get a 'better' tone

The Captain talks with his hands when he's not totally sold on what he's selling.
I'm a big Vox fan, and honestly, on the strat I thought it had to be like a mexican squire gutiar, because Vox can not make an amp that bad. But then it sounded almost worse on the Les Paul.

I think you're mistaken. As with other Tony Bruno Vox amps, this is likely the victim of disillusionment. They look like Vox amps but they sound kinda like Fender amps, which confuses people, and confusion leads to anger, and anger leads to hate, and hate leads to suffering.
Sounds horrible. I also agree with the postings about PAs. Mind you, I think maybe a 50W might be a bit better suited to working with a band without a PA, but a decent 50W (tube or SS is up to you but I like my tubes) is really all you need.
i think they never did a firebird review so i would like to see one too ! :)
What is wrong with you guys? This amp sounds stellar when it's cranked, but what do you expect from a tube amp without cranking it?

I think this amp is more for the cleans rather than the drive sounds..
somethings not right with the audio from the amp mic..
Just Chappers strum really hard to get that like acoustic sort of sound, like every string is pristine

It's a beautifull amp for those who are not that experienced with amps or playing guitar for that matter. Like me I have to admit.

I think this shouldn't be called a Vox though, it's quite heavy, bassy sounding. In my opinion it's missing that Vox chime and sparkle
seriously though what really directs the choice that a person can make?
Shame. Mic input is clipping ridiculously. Can't actually hear what the amp sounds like.
I think people are gonna buy these simply to modify 'em. They do have their own thing going on, but not too many people are gonna find it very useful.
