    Hi everyone! I wanted to correct an error in the video. During the voiceover, I mistakenly mentioned that the battery runtime is 30 hours without backlighting. However, it’s actually 800 hours without backlighting and 30 hours with it. My apologies for any confusion this may have caused, and a big thank you to the viewer who brought this to my attention.

    Hi Dan, great and informativ Review. I own the Ascher F28 and would upgrade to a Mclaren Wheel in der Future.
    Did you notice a huge Difference between the 285 mm Diameter from the F28 to the 300 mm diameter from the Mclaren Wheels?
    As you say, a lot of Racing Wheels have that 300 mm size.

    How they compare to the F64 v3 though? The only thing I could catch is the more subtle shifters but not sure if those an upgrade on any other aspects? (LED excluded of course)

    • @marcelertle4569
      @marcelertle4569 7 месяцев назад +1

      The Pro-SC does provide an upgrade on not only the shifters (silenced, now free of any play, double shifters) and backlight buttons with interchangeable button caps, but also the wheel now comes with 4 thumb encoders (with updated placement) and a 300mm diameter (compared to 285mm on the F64). Additionally, the overall build-quality has been improved as well. :)

  • @alecmillea4539

    Having the thumb encoders where they should be, immediately makes the McLaren wheel worth the extra to me. Also I prefer the button placements and the rotary’s more clearly indicate the position.

    • @ty194
      @ty194 3 месяца назад

      You know, I was going to pull the trigger on a GSI wheel just last week, but there's two things that stopped me. The first is that I don't like the tactile feel of the buttons they use, it doesn't feel premium - they immediately click quite rigidly. The v1 GSI FPE had way better buttons, but the rotary encoders on that wheel were very cheap feeling and undefined. The second thing I didn't like is that they don't use multi-position switches - just plain old rotary encoders that send a pulse to the CPU to tell it a position has changed and I'm sorry, but that's just cutting corner for no good reason. If I'm paying the premium price they're asking, no corners should be cut.

  • @GabrielHaller
    @GabrielHaller 6 месяцев назад +2

    I just bought the ascher f28-sc v2 because I got it on a black friday deal for 599 Euros. Do you think the MCLAREN ARTURA SPORT is worth the 230 Euros more for its quit shifters and the 300 mm diameter?

    • @simracingden
      @simracingden  6 месяцев назад +1

      IMO I think it’s worth it for the backlighting, better button caps and improved shifters and I personally prefer 300mm.

    • @GabrielHaller
      @GabrielHaller 6 месяцев назад +3

      @@simracingden So I went with the f28-sc v2, personally I'm not a fan of blacklit buttons, as they distract me. The quiet shifters don't matter to me and the charging socket makes it more vulnerable to damage and it's 300g heavier which should not be underestimated - the f28 is a tank that already proved it's worth. The only thing I kinda envy is the 300mm diameter, but's it's not worth 230 Euros more in my opinion. It's a great wheel and I think everybody who owns it will be happy, but I really fell in love with the simplicity of the f28.

    Do you think the ultimate is worth it for the screen?

    • @simracingden
      @simracingden  2 месяца назад +1

      It depends on how important having the display is to you. Do you drive mostly GT or Formula and LMP style cars where having a dash on the wheel makes sense? Also, consider your seating position to see the display correctly. The sports and pro models of the Artura series are outstanding. Expect the ultimate to be the same but just with a screen.

    What are the main differences between this wheel and GRID MPX? What would make a person pick one over the other?

    • @simracingden
      @simracingden  7 месяцев назад

      Big difference is Ascher’s is wireless if you own a Simucube wheelbase whereas grid needs to be connected to a power box then usb to PC. Stickers on MPX vs aschers button caps. Some may issue with one or other so comes down to personal preference but I much prefer button caps now having tried them.

    • @CynicalManInBlack
      @CynicalManInBlack 7 месяцев назад

      @@simracingden Yeah, button caps are a great idea. Never liked stickers.
      The tough choice is that I am getting an Invicta base and the Ascher wheel is not available in the USB version yet. So I may go with an MPX. I am sure it is a fantastic wheel regardless, but I do wish the connection was via a simple USB.

    • @simracingden
      @simracingden  7 месяцев назад +1

      It's challenging to compare since they're quite different types of wheels, but when it comes to build quality, both brands excel and offer really impressive wheels. The Hyper P1 might be better compared to the upcoming ultimate version with a display. One aspect I prefer about the Ascher is the interchangeable button caps, whereas on the Hyper P1, they're fixed as set by the factory.

    • @ty194
