E Citron is underrated, but there are a number of different factors that prevent him from getting to S or even A tier. ● Harsh dropoff of 10/20 meters means many characters can outgun you from range ● Due to the weakness of uncharged shots, it is difficult for Electro Citron to instantly react to a surprise attack ● HIs bullet is tiny and can be dodged by careful bunnyhopping
E citron is like the ambassador of garden warfare, was amazing, got its range nerfed, some say it’s useless, other know it’s worth Also, to quote the fish man: “If people think of it as a joke weapon, then I don’t mind the one laughing in the end”
Cozmic brainz and e citron have something in common. When their long rang damage got nerfed, many people think they suck. Others think they are still really good. Both are also hidden gems in this game.
Well nerfing a range is kind of entraping them in a role. There is something else too, a nerf can get quite negative in the eyes of a user of the nerfed item: a nerfed item, going from 15 to 10, can end up with less users than the same item that was always at 10. Some negativity can come from here.
Cozmic is one of my most played Super Brainz. he's extremely underrated. E Citron i can't comment on since the only reason i have him a master because of the XP fish. i haven't used him in Multiplayer in like 2 years
@@Hunter_The_MubterActktualllyy you need to buy the game through a currency ,most preferably using dollars or the Euro, you can acquire the currencies from either job or any kind of fund like presents, your parents just buying it etc. Then you need to complete multiplayer matches or backyard quests/farming, then you need to buy a phenomenal character pack , but you need to either get every character the pack has to offer except him or you need to rely in luck . Even then you would need to have acquired an operating system in a personalized computer, laptop, PlayStation, Xbox, the Nintendo switch and in the future if the modders are willing enough and the mobile devices have advanced to the degree that they have the ability to contain games with complex environments then theoretically a mobile port could be made. 🤓🤓🤓🤓
That would probably go to Cozmic Brainz. E Citron has never been underrated, he just sucks, Cozmic is not bad but is very overrated by the community nowadays.
I think a reason why E Citron is controversial is also due to his playstyle. I’d probably imagine that most people who believe he’s a bad character will more than likely play him like any other Citron. But then you watch the people who do good with E Citron and they play differently from the normal get up close and Beam them in the face Citron.
Though I'm glad e citron has gotten more popularity, i have seen my fair share of recent tier lists and ranking e citron SS or S is a bit too much. But either way I think I and many others still love this character to pieces as a true underdog
Honestly, I personally think that Ecitron is both underrated and overrated. Underrated because many people consider him as the worst character in the game. Somehow, even worst than Metal Chomper, Chomp Thing, Rock Pea, etc. Overrated because the other half consider him as an op character. In some cases even the best character in the game. Even better than Iron Citron and EPea. So, in other words, those characters are fair and balanced and ECitron needs another nerf. There isn't a middle point. You either hate him or love him. However this is still very interesting. I've never seen a character like that before. Now, speaking about him, although I don't think he is a bad character, I still dislike him. There are so many factors to consider while playing him, and It can be very overwhelming for a new player. No, the extra health doesn't help since most of the variants can easily delete you in 1 second or less or has a tool that makes them annoying (Artic Trooper, for example). And even that I kinda know how to play him, it was still a really bad experience (heck, I even mastered him) Honestly I would prefer: A) Grab Bfn and play as 80's. Or if that's not a valid option: B) Play another character that is either more forgiven (Plasma Pea) or a character that fits better as a charge weapon (Future Cactus). Which is another factor: depending on the situation he can get outclassed. Anyway, good video.
In all honesty I can 100% relate with all this. Especially since I 90% of the time play the chomper class. So many people say that the chomper class is the worst class and complain how hard it is to get kill streaks or winning 1v1 fights or just overall pvp game modes. Completely underestimating what the chomper class is fully capable of. For instance everyone always told me that boss hunt is impossible to beat as a chomper and shockingly enough I managed to beat Sasquatch on crazy mode helping my team as freaking *HOT ROD CHOMPER* and beat yeti king as *YETI CHOMPER* on crazy difficulty as well.
I really like Chomper (mainly Twilight) and I think the main reason people say Chomper’s the worst is that they play him like Super Brainz, running at enemies head first, even though there are a few in game tips that say that you’re meant to sneak around and hunt for zombies that are completely alone, I get that it’s hard to do as some giant purple slobbering freak and basically impossible in ai filled game modes, but you need to play him like Spy in TF2, which is fitting since iirc Chomper was inspired by him

ive seen things like this happen in other communities where content updates are sparse or non existent, a good example is the dragons fury in tf2, and how most people considered it bad until pretty recently when a ton of youtubers started uploading videos on it, and showing it is actually pretty effective.
I personally believe that the citron rework for this specific variant was to emphasize that citrons need to get up close to actually deal a crap ton of damage
I think they should make his fully charged shot instantly land, like a railgun. Keep the damage the same, but with the same speed and look as the stock citron laser.
I always chew using e citron but keep in mind I’m a turf takeover player and I don’t play other modes so maybe he’s just good in turf (imo), so because I don’t know how much about other modes please tell me you guys’ opinions
On the topic of underrated Citron, toxic is amazing despite what people say His gun does 6-8 across the map per bullet if you add up all the ways he damages. (2 from direct hit, 2-4 for mist, and 2 for toxic damage) He is at least the second best range Citron
I find it very ironic that people defend ECitron thanks to his ttk, but no one says anything about Toxic Citron having a similar ttk against low hp classes.
Since I’m a chad bfn player, when I got gw2 a while back (I think late 2021) my first character I unlocked was literally e citron, I’ve only watched a fraction of gw2 vids and just understood that I shouldn’t use him. I ended playing him a little and he turned out great 👍 You are the player, not the sharer.
I don't like how often the GW2 community throws the word "potential" so willy-nilly when it comes to E Citron considering that he has about as much as any other Citron if not most characters anyways
Before his 'Worst Citron' video Wolfy had already called E Citron the worst character in the game in his video 'Batlle of the Worst Characters' where it was contested between him and Cozmic Brainz. The funny thing is, Wolfy always hated Cozmic Brainz even before his ranged nerf, while his E Citron hate came out of nowhere.

I’ve certainly heard both arguments for E Citron back and forth and I’ve tried using him myself, and I’m sorry E Citron Stan’s, but I just don’t get the appeal. The entire time I have to ask myself why I’m not just playing Iron instead.
When I first got electro citron, I tried him out, I hadn’t watched wolfey’s video so I had no opinions on him. I didn’t really like him when I tried him and thought that he was weak, it’s just the fact that I have to tap the trigger to shoot each bullet and that the charge shots take a while to charge
I believe they did it through a mod for the health and ability bar's, as for the FOV, i think its something you can do naturally by editing a file or 2 on the pc version
I think that E Citron is definitely playable, but his style takes a bit of patience and understanding of the range at which you benefit most at. He’s not my kind of character - I’ve never really enjoyed, nor am I good at, charge characters, other than Cosmic Brainz, but his charge move only requires you aim in the general direction of the opponent. If you play E Citron, I absolutely respect you, because I know he’s a variant which completely flips the playstyle of regular citron.

ive tried to use him more ever since your how to git gud with him (offline, since im poor) and, he's not unusable, but, the thing i struggle with the most is how accurate you have to be with him, like he feels like he demands sniper like accuracy, which isnt a bad thing, but it is making me struggle with using him
in my opinion, e citron can be a beast in a lot of situations and is very underrated. Personally, I do not play him much but I will say this, he is prob one of the best citrons and it is the same case with cozmic except that that I actively play cozmic
What people have to understand is the difference between console and pc gw2. With a character like e citron making your charge shots are the only thing that keeps him from being one of the worst citron. And the thing about console is that its way harder for the vast majority of players to be able to consistently make that happen. Especially in the the close range confrontations citrons are mostly limited to. Similar differences between the two platforms are to blame for Similar debates lime e pea vs. Agent pea.
Agent and e-citron are still broken on controller tho. For a game like gw2, aiming is extremely easy, even on controller, especially with how broken aim assist is. The only skill with e-citron is really the charge timing, which is actually pretty difficult I’d say, unless you practice a lot (which I do, I main charge characters). I’ve destroyed lobbies with this guy on Xbox and pc before and he only really struggles with tanks but he destroys soldiers and scientists with ez.
Electro Citron is assumed to be bad because he is not as oppresive at range as the other citrons are after the rework. In my opinion all Citrons should have a max range for their primaries similar to most of the Engineers. Right now they can just drain your health at long range while you try to chip down their absurd amount of health (275 or 350 with Portable Invincibilities aka Peel and Mood Shield respectively AND +10 if they have the health upgrade) and if you try to close in their attacks just get even stronger, a problem which not even BFN addressed. Not to mention they have another "I Win" button in EMPeach. A second solution would be to remove the Ball Form entirely and replace it with Spin Dash only, similar to BFN. This would define Citron as a big health brawler. A third option would be to reduce the health to 100, since Citrons are an already mobile class, they don't need to have the best mobility AND the best health. With this third option the Peel Shield would turn from a Portable Invincibility button into an actual durability augmenting tool.
Electric Citron is just okay he’s not good but not bad. His primary is pretty bad it just doesn’t do a lot of damage. I actually thought Toxic Citron was the worst one but trying him out one time he was actually pretty good.
Stats-wise, Electro is beyond just decent. With a high DPS for a tank class, and great mobility, Electro can destroy most of the Zombies quick and fast. However, playstyle-wise, he is quite clunky from my experience, since the crosshair is a bit weird to work with, and the charge time is a massive problem, since in a high-paced shootout, you'll need to act fast.
in my opinion playing as e citron is pretty awkward. his shots are really tiny, feeling like i'm playing as future cactus but up close and his damage still doesn't feel like enough because is kinda hard to do a crit up close to get the maximum damage which almost always tells you what you hit around 60 most of the time unless you go way more close. I feel like it's a character you want to play between close and medium range just to get those headshots. the performance of this character leaded me to only use him on ops and farming xp with the fish just like every rose and sunflower except for the mystical one (idk her name in english) and mayyyyybe the fire one. oh and also the toxic citron. tl;dr: tiny shots and underwhelming damage, i should thy him if i can change my mind. Tier list: low tier, really low tier but i'm not sure if he's bottom. this is my opinion based on my own experience, not necessarily 100% based on wolfy's
When we look at the electro citron, we realize that that he is just part of a video game. So even if people think he is the best or the worst, it’s just there opinion on a video game character. So I can understand why people aurgue over this but it’s just a small debate over zeros and ones. So if you think he is the best or worst then good for you and we should respect others opinions. Especially over a possibly dying video game.
If now you can't even be midly passionate about something because it's "0 and 1" then what can be talked about half seriously ? Being reductive about things is easy, you know what it also just zeros and ones ? Your bank account. Mine have some 0, guess it's not a big deal. Personallly I don't play Citron since really in my opinion he's a huge target that can ruin any plants advances, from secret shortcuts and almost most people I've seen who does play as him can take a flick of damage before deciding to ball up and roll away at fast speeds to regen that 10 damage they took from their 200 health pool, Electric Citron is a cool variant, and I'd use him here and there, but I wouldn't say he's entirely the best, he's strong and has good range as you said, but he's also pretty great to just use in general, if anyone mains Citron or is debating to just use that one in public matches go for it! who cares what other people say, just go for it!
before the balance changes, everyone was splashing with him. Now, he is still good even though you have to land your shots nowbut people just cant change their playstyle. I think that's why everyone thinks he is bad

E-citron is like the rock pea and bbq corn, while they are probably the worst in their class, they are still good because of the traits the class gives them, ex: rock pea stiill has hyper, bbq corn still has pretty much the most op abilities in the game, and e-citron is still an mobile tank with an stun grenade and shield
Late comment but the issue with e citron is he's the hardest citron to use at his best. The real problem is that most other good characters are easy to use and will have better results than e citron. Ease of use just allows for more people to perform better with any character. He has potential but the question is it worth investing that effort for the results you might potentially get. For me it's a no but I definetly would like to see e citron in action.
I still won't be playing him. Because even if he is the best Citron I don't use Citrons my highest promoted Citron is iron who is at advanced. So I have no saying in this. Why am I even commenting this?
E citron is like cozmic, got put in a wolfy tier list, and now is put to shame, while thats true thats not what i actually wanted to say, e citron is like cozmic, high skill level to play, u have to play him very specificly, its either u charge at the team or u wait for them to approach you, mid charge is ur best friend when playing this character, and using the charges in close range is very specific, not gonna sit here and explain now, but he is very hard to play, and is enjoyable.
Honestly, I've been on the hate train for E citron for I guess ever since I've heard about it, and I've been forcing myself to not play him at all. Even though I've set a goal to get to max rank (cuz I think having a max rank is cool) I thought I would just have to grind out the Exp fish forever on E citron, but that isn't the case because I've taken time to play with him and I'd say that he's not bad at all. Sure you need to be very precise with your shots and you can't just rely on splash to your advantage, but my guy can hit up to 90 damage with a headshot if you can land it. Honestly he's not bad at all, just get gud with him and you'll be rewarded with high dps or skill on the character ig.

i personally love e citron and think hes the best citron. i think of him as a iron citron but can charge his shots. and has more control and fire rate than him. hes great and his charged shots if you can land them you can dominate with him combined with his peel shield and empeach makes him devistating. the fact that his mobility isnt really affected by charge shots and you can even jump makes him more deadly. the first charged shot is the most powerful almost like a 2 reload upgrade iron citron. overall hes my favorite character and i think hes still in a ss tier. just people always focus on the final charged shot to get damage which i think its bad. overall i love electro citron and would prefer him over iron citron
To me the may patch and the july patches shouldn't have happened in the way it did (especialy for the Citron and Super Brainz rebalance). In the may patch the intent was to make Citron fulfill it's design as a highly mobile close-range tank and to make certain engineers more viable. While it did succeed in that regard it was to me atleast a bit extreme as it basically made the more ranged focussed citrons like Electro, Toxic and to some extent Iron citrons redundant (Iron citron gets a pass due to legendary status) and made the turbo jackhammer practically an upgrade instead of a sidegrade. They're still effective but not as it used to be like Toxic citron became the GW2 king of assists (to me atleast). The july patches are a whole other thing but to sum it all up. 'It didn't have to be that harsh.' (Also the claim for Super Brainz rebalance in the july patches is something i don't trust).
TBH, for me e citron is good only if you know when to charge ur shots and also good aim (Basically a beast on the right hands) but his story is a good example that you should never see someones else opinion like "facts" or "he said it so it must be like that" just be cuz he is important on the community Just be cuz you dont know how to use it then it doesnt mean he's bad, and that goes to cosmic as well.
E citron is the most overlook citron in gw2 history including Cosmic brains people don't see the potential and you have to take stats and TTK's into consideration.

Hmm... I won't lie, I fall into the camp of E citron being bad, but not for the reasons most people expect. I don't like him for the same reason I dislike semiautomatic characters like Agent Pea, and charge up characters like future cactus: I'm just not good with charge up and semiautomatic characters. I just can't get a feel for how they play. These characters aren't bad by any measure, in fact, characters like Agent pea and Z7 Imp are often considered to be the best in the game. It all comes down to skill level and how I like to play.

"underrated" is such a rubbish word these days. People saying that a character that underperforms in almost every situation is just "underrated"

Since I’m a chad bfn player, when I got gw2 a while back (I think late 2021) my first character I unlocked was literally e citron, I’ve only watched a fraction of gw2 vids and just understood that I shouldn’t use him. I ended playing him a little and he turned out great 👍 You are the player, not the sharer.
I don't like how often the GW2 community throws the word "potential" so willy-nilly when it comes to E Citron considering that he has about as much as any other Citron if not most characters anyways

The funny thing is, Wolfy always hated Cozmic Brainz even before his ranged nerf, while his E Citron hate came out of nowhere.

I’ve certainly heard both arguments for E Citron back and forth and I’ve tried using him myself, and I’m sorry E Citron Stan’s, but I just don’t get the appeal. The entire time I have to ask myself why I’m not just playing Iron instead.

When I first got electro citron, I tried him out, I hadn’t watched wolfey’s video so I had no opinions on him. I didn’t really like him when I tried him and thought that he was weak, it’s just the fact that I have to tap the trigger to shoot each bullet and that the charge shots take a while to charge

I believe they did it through a mod for the health and ability bar's, as for the FOV, i think its something you can do naturally by editing a file or 2 on the pc version

I think that E Citron is definitely playable, but his style takes a bit of patience and understanding of the range at which you benefit most at.
He’s not my kind of character - I’ve never really enjoyed, nor am I good at, charge characters, other than Cosmic Brainz, but his charge move only requires you aim in the general direction of the opponent.
If you play E Citron, I absolutely respect you, because I know he’s a variant which completely flips the playstyle of regular citron.
I think electro Citron is one of those characters like mystic flower people just refuse to aim and wolfy has stated he can't aim for shit that's probably why most people think they kinda suck like yes they have potential but most people on console aren't gonna reach that potential anyway so like people are just going to play other citrons that most are way easier to use like even toxic citron you can camp with just because of the toxic and stacking overtime damage

ive tried to use him more ever since your how to git gud with him (offline, since im poor) and, he's not unusable, but, the thing i struggle with the most is how accurate you have to be with him, like he feels like he demands sniper like accuracy, which isnt a bad thing, but it is making me struggle with using him
E citron can be a unit up close if you use him right. Like a Remington model 11-48, he can decimate people nearby
in my opinion, e citron can be a beast in a lot of situations and is very underrated. Personally, I do not play him much but I will say this, he is prob one of the best citrons and it is the same case with cozmic except that that I actively play cozmic
E citron was a god tier character, got nerfed to being a mid tier character, then people said he was dog water.
What people have to understand is the difference between console and pc gw2. With a character like e citron making your charge shots are the only thing that keeps him from being one of the worst citron. And the thing about console is that its way harder for the vast majority of players to be able to consistently make that happen. Especially in the the close range confrontations citrons are mostly limited to. Similar differences between the two platforms are to blame for Similar debates lime e pea vs. Agent pea.
Agent and e-citron are still broken on controller tho. For a game like gw2, aiming is extremely easy, even on controller, especially with how broken aim assist is. The only skill with e-citron is really the charge timing, which is actually pretty difficult I’d say, unless you practice a lot (which I do, I main charge characters). I’ve destroyed lobbies with this guy on Xbox and pc before and he only really struggles with tanks but he destroys soldiers and scientists with ez.
Electro Citron is assumed to be bad because he is not as oppresive at range as the other citrons are after the rework. In my opinion all Citrons should have a max range for their primaries similar to most of the Engineers. Right now they can just drain your health at long range while you try to chip down their absurd amount of health (275 or 350 with Portable Invincibilities aka Peel and Mood Shield respectively AND +10 if they have the health upgrade) and if you try to close in their attacks just get even stronger, a problem which not even BFN addressed. Not to mention they have another "I Win" button in EMPeach. A second solution would be to remove the Ball Form entirely and replace it with Spin Dash only, similar to BFN. This would define Citron as a big health brawler. A third option would be to reduce the health to 100, since Citrons are an already mobile class, they don't need to have the best mobility AND the best health. With this third option the Peel Shield would turn from a Portable Invincibility button into an actual durability augmenting tool.
He’s still both underrated and overrated, funnily enough. Even the pro-E crowd seems to love overstating his potential for some reason.

I actually thought Toxic Citron was the worst one but trying him out one time he was actually pretty good.

Stats-wise, Electro is beyond just decent. With a high DPS for a tank class, and great mobility, Electro can destroy most of the Zombies quick and fast.
However, playstyle-wise, he is quite clunky from my experience, since the crosshair is a bit weird to work with, and the charge time is a massive problem, since in a high-paced shootout, you'll need to act fast.
in my opinion playing as e citron is pretty awkward. his shots are really tiny, feeling like i'm playing as future cactus but up close and his damage still doesn't feel like enough because is kinda hard to do a crit up close to get the maximum damage which almost always tells you what you hit around 60 most of the time unless you go way more close. I feel like it's a character you want to play between close and medium range just to get those headshots. the performance of this character leaded me to only use him on ops and farming xp with the fish just like every rose and sunflower except for the mystical one (idk her name in english) and mayyyyybe the fire one. oh and also the toxic citron.
tl;dr: tiny shots and underwhelming damage, i should thy him if i can change my mind.
Tier list: low tier, really low tier but i'm not sure if he's bottom.

When we look at the electro citron, we realize that that he is just part of a video game. So even if people think he is the best or the worst, it’s just there opinion on a video game character. So I can understand why people aurgue over this but it’s just a small debate over zeros and ones. So if you think he is the best or worst then good for you and we should respect others opinions. Especially over a possibly dying video game.
If now you can't even be midly passionate about something because it's "0 and 1" then what can be talked about half seriously ? Being reductive about things is easy, you know what it also just zeros and ones ? Your bank account. Mine have some 0, guess it's not a big deal.

Honestly I always disliked arguments of "it's just a game" which implies that it doesn't matter, if people cared enough to make stuff like this in the first place doesn't that completely invalidate the argue because it shows that people care about these things and therefore that it matters to them?
Personallly I don't play Citron since really in my opinion he's a huge target that can ruin any plants advances, from secret shortcuts and almost most people I've seen who does play as him can take a flick of damage before deciding to ball up and roll away at fast speeds to regen that 10 damage they took from their 200 health pool, Electric Citron is a cool variant, and I'd use him here and there, but I wouldn't say he's entirely the best, he's strong and has good range as you said, but he's also pretty great to just use in general, if anyone mains Citron or is debating to just use that one in public matches go for it! who cares what other people say, just go for it!

E-citron is like the rock pea and bbq corn, while they are probably the worst in their class, they are still good because of the traits the class gives them, ex: rock pea stiill has hyper, bbq corn still has pretty much the most op abilities in the game, and e-citron is still an mobile tank with an stun grenade and shield

Late comment but the issue with e citron is he's the hardest citron to use at his best. The real problem is that most other good characters are easy to use and will have better results than e citron. Ease of use just allows for more people to perform better with any character. He has potential but the question is it worth investing that effort for the results you might potentially get. For me it's a no but I definetly would like to see e citron in action.
I still won't be playing him. Because even if he is the best Citron I don't use Citrons my highest promoted Citron is iron who is at advanced. So I have no saying in this.

E citron is like cozmic, got put in a wolfy tier list, and now is put to shame, while thats true thats not what i actually wanted to say, e citron is like cozmic, high skill level to play, u have to play him very specificly, its either u charge at the team or u wait for them to approach you, mid charge is ur best friend when playing this character, and using the charges in close range is very specific, not gonna sit here and explain now, but he is very hard to play, and is enjoyable.
Honestly, I've been on the hate train for E citron for I guess ever since I've heard about it, and I've been forcing myself to not play him at all. Even though I've set a goal to get to max rank (cuz I think having a max rank is cool) I thought I would just have to grind out the Exp fish forever on E citron, but that isn't the case because I've taken time to play with him and I'd say that he's not bad at all. Sure you need to be very precise with your shots and you can't just rely on splash to your advantage, but my guy can hit up to 90 damage with a headshot if you can land it. Honestly he's not bad at all, just get gud with him and you'll be rewarded with high dps or skill on the character ig.

Electro citron is not a bad character at all. Sure, he has some disadvantages but can still be dangerous in the face of zombies. You wanna talk about a bad citron then let’s talk about toxic citron. Playing him is like dragging your balls through shards of glass.

i personally love e citron and think hes the best citron. i think of him as a iron citron but can charge his shots. and has more control and fire rate than him. hes great and his charged shots if you can land them you can dominate with him combined with his peel shield and empeach makes him devistating. the fact that his mobility isnt really affected by charge shots and you can even jump makes him more deadly. the first charged shot is the most powerful almost like a 2 reload upgrade iron citron. overall hes my favorite character and i think hes still in a ss tier. just people always focus on the final charged shot to get damage which i think its bad. overall i love electro citron and would prefer him over iron citron
To me the may patch and the july patches shouldn't have happened in the way it did (especialy for the Citron and Super Brainz rebalance).
In the may patch the intent was to make Citron fulfill it's design as a highly mobile close-range tank and to make certain engineers more viable.
While it did succeed in that regard it was to me atleast a bit extreme as it basically made the more ranged focussed citrons like Electro, Toxic and to some extent Iron citrons redundant (Iron citron gets a pass due to legendary status) and made the turbo jackhammer practically an upgrade instead of a sidegrade.
They're still effective but not as it used to be like Toxic citron became the GW2 king of assists (to me atleast).
The july patches are a whole other thing but to sum it all up.

Hmm... I won't lie, I fall into the camp of E citron being bad, but not for the reasons most people expect. I don't like him for the same reason I dislike semiautomatic characters like Agent Pea, and charge up characters like future cactus: I'm just not good with charge up and semiautomatic characters. I just can't get a feel for how they play. These characters aren't bad by any measure, in fact, characters like Agent pea and Z7 Imp are often considered to be the best in the game. It all comes down to skill level and how I like to play.
