Discovered the cause of my M8 engine bog last weekend when the side cover blew off. Hadn’t been closed fully at the front so snow was entering the left engine bay and being pressure packed by the rotating clutch. Like a snow blower stuffing more and more in until the engine bogged. It was like concrete in there.
Exhaust gas builds up under the hood and gets sucked in the intake and it boys like a SOB cause the gas has no oxygen in it. I went through this issue with my 06 M7 for 3 winters I replaced parts and pulling my hair out until last year. Seal up the hole in the belly problem solved. I read that the new m8000 are having the same issue
just another day with an arctic cat nothing new had this happen to me last week brand new cat wasn't even in the snow for 1 hour on my way back she started acting up wasn't even any snow in her was still breaking her in
My 2015 sno pro is running this exact same way today and just getting worse. My can is out the hole. It was running better going back to the truck on trail but it was still acting like it was only running on one cylinder. If I slowed down and feathered the throttle it would come back some times act like it was loaded up
Sounds like the same bogging my sled did after getting completely covered in snow. My problem on my 2016 m8000 162 limited was it was taking in some moisture at the top, i relocate the air intake sensor and cleaned out the air box which was full of water and oil. She fired right back up after that, i might need a air intake kit to keep snow out, not sure what to get though. Edit The exhaust tho lol wasn't my problem tho
Gromet, ,,,,good HARD RIDING, ,,they can't stay new when Ben gets on it, ,,,runs great now? ?? Till next time, ,,RIDE ON, ,,NEW YORK, ,2 FT OF SNOW. this weekend, ,,,we are all set up, shined up, ,,,loaded up, ,can't wait, ,,
Hey You guys are great with the m8000s, was wondering what kind of mileage the older 2013s or 2014s could get? Looking at buying one but has a lot of miles on it already. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!:-)
They will go a long time just like anything else that is maintained. Rarely does anything ever go wrong with the motors. I have a customer that has 11k on his and still on the first motor with no top end rebuild.
Hey my m 8 will do the same thing if I smack a steep and deep bank or drop into some really deep stuff if I let off and come back into it it'll come out of it I do have a little bit of a crack in my belly panl you think it's just the clutch? Sometimes the clutch will slip and I know it's getting in when that happens but when it bogs idk

Great to see Shaunie helping out Ben.
I think he was looking for the Belt drive/Turbo/Fish finder problem?
this is my favourite channel of them all! love the vids keep uploading :D!
Ben is supporting the EPA with that exhaust!
Hike 2 I try my best to support everyone but there just no pleasing these guys! 😬
Mine was doing that last year. Had reeds replaced and as good as new now.
I like when shaun told ben what time it was. NO AIR Runs like a bag of ARCTI CATS!!!😎🤓
Haven't even watched the video yet but hell yeah!

If you are suckin in exhaust gases from under the hood, you got some major problems!

Hey I’m having the same problem did you ever figure out what was wrong with yours ?
@@brje681 brought it to the dealer and they put new purer valve cables on it and replaced one of the plug caps it seemed to have fixed the issue

@@syxxes hey thanks for the reply and the info!! You have anything to look out for when looking at the first 2 gems? The 12 or 13 models?
@@TimberRidgerenovation Just the wear parts.
Jeff Marshall the old man put 11,000 miles on his 2012 xf high country before having to do a rebuild
Any gearing suggestions on 2015 m8 163
I'm a huge fan of stock.
What weights and helix do you guys run for revy?
carlin b Both cats have completely stock clutches
I run 78 grams on the primary with having a turbo. Stock was just fine with stock weights of I think 68grams...
Well... That was easy.
Mind was doing that, then it blew up

Sounds like it needs a diagnose!
Well I'm gonna try sealing that up see what happens
They can't run flawlessly all the time. lol
My brother has that same problem on his m8000
Jordan Christensen This is the only time it's ever happened to me so far
Seal up the exhaust outlet on the belly, make sure no exhaust gas gets under the hood
Lol, that's funny shit!
Arctic cat problems now,. No Polaris issues today!!!!
ChicagoSox The first rule about the Polaris not breaking down is we don't talk about the Polaris not breaking down.. Someone jinxed it last time 😂
@@ben_syxxes8179 I'm just glad that Turbo wasn't having issues today!
Time for a re-build
Edit: NEVER MIND
it bogs badly because its not a etec ;)
That's why you don't buy an artic cat
Jackson Dunham Absoultely, complete junk because a log pushed the aftermarket exhaust up inside the body 😉
This issue has NOTHING to do with it being a cat
Buy a real snowmobile and u wont have that problem
ThePerfectionizt Absolutely! The log that pushed the can up inside the body is totally a manufacturer defect 😂
Well ofc ma dude what else ❤️
A real salad like what? A Polaris that'll explode in 2 days or a skidoo that'll blow the track and snap the bulkhead at the same time
