Thank you for the video, so helpful! My husband and I need to remove our old double oven. I wanted to know what to expect. Our old top oven was controlled by a digital panel which broke first. And our old bottom oven was controlled by knobs which finally broke after many years, LOL It's time for a brand new single wall oven!
Thanks for the video. Seems fairly straight forward. I have a question, though. Why didn’t you just cut the wires? You’re going to ditch the oven anyway.
Very helpful tip for me: the oven door should be easily removable. Never thought of that, but I'm doing the job alone and shedding every pound of weight prior to moving the oven is important. Thank you!
Hi there! 👋 We're thrilled to see your video demonstrating how to remove a dirty, dated old wall oven. Removing old appliances can be quite a task, but your helpful video makes it look so easy! 🙌 well done, Great video!
I had the door locked after self cleaning. I was able to slip a small furniture flat wrench behind the oven door to remove the short (fortunately) mounting screws. 😅
They did things a little differently in Oklahoma in the early ‘90’s. You shoulda saw the drop-in oven I removed on the house before this. Electricians would be having nightmares
Thanks. I think I won’t be strong enough to do this. Was hoping to refinish the cabinets before new oven was installed but I guess that’s not happening.
Thank you I have the same brand magic shef and the F2 alarm keeps going off so I'm going to remove mine tomorrow Thanks and we are the same height but mine is smaller😂
I would have just cut the wires since you aren't going to save the oven. But that's just me. At least I saw how to extract the oven, something I need to work on soon.
No, he meant that that the power was hard-wired into the oven. You could have just loosened the flexible conduit fitting going into the oven and disconnected the wires on the oven side instead of the wall side. Otherwise, good video. I learned something.
Is an old video, so I don't really expect a response, but couldn't you have rotated the oven to the right and had all the access you needed to the wires instead of working over it? Also if you pulled the bottom out and let it down to the floor there would have been more slack.
Agreed he could have done that, but (my having the benefit of reading your post) I wonder how many people would have tried to turn or place the oven on the floor if they didn't have enough slack (and end up causing problems as far as the wiring). Your post is much better than the alternative of somebody posting that "I lowered my oven like in the video and my wires came out of the wall 👎" I did get a kick out of both of us being here within a day of each other, looking for how to remove a wall oven lol
I always fart when I bend over and lift like that. The fact that you didn't probably means you are not a professional or just not an old fart like me, huh? :-) Those damn things are heavier than you may think though. Nice video.
Dude, you didn’t turn off the power. I kept waiting to see you touch the hot wire and get knocked down. Pro tip when the microwave is lit that’s a sign that the power has not been turned off to that circuit. Otherwise great video!
I realize this is an old post but there is absolutely a good reason to remove the oven door. On my 26 year old wall oven, the door was very heavy. Removing it made the oven light enough thatwrestling the oven out of the cabinet was easier. Not easy, but definitely easier
I knew this was a relatively simple process, thanks for the video. Instructional and detailed but not obnoxiously over done.

Love to hear! Glad to help and enjoy a new oven with functioning buttons!
The most useful video I’ve watched on removal!
This really helped! Thanks for posting!
Thank you very much. Your video made this so much easier for us to get out the old oven.

Tom Narkin oven doors typically have a latch that locks the hinge for easy removal. Open the door flat and flip the latch on the hinge.
Thanks for the video! Simple enough, but it really helps having seen someone do it!! Good on ya!
Great video! I love that you add the "3/4 frame" comment. Also, get yourself a lav mic for better sound

Thanks for the kind words, support, and for watching!
Hey man we'll bump you up to a good 5'8. it's cool, I'm 5'8 so I feel you! 🤣
Thanks for the video, brother. 😎🤝

Thank you for useful information,
which helps to do self and save money
Thanks for the video - This will help. I can't believe the wiring on your oven. No plug and no cover for the box? WOW.

Great video. Can’t believe it’s the same oven I have. Thanks man.
Well done. Thanks for the video.

We're you a military medic? I seen that tattoo a few times 💪🏻 and thank you for the video , which was helpful to me
very informative and fun! thanks
Great video. Thanks
Thx, it was helpful for us watching your video
Thank you.
Thank you. He had to say scootch.🤠🤠
Thank you
Thanks. Helped me tons
Some oven doors will need pins on latch to remove. You can use 2 hex key.
Thank you .👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you I have the same brand magic shef and the F2 alarm keeps going off so I'm going to remove mine tomorrow Thanks and we are the same height but mine is smaller😂
Do you know where I can get that front panel where your microwave and oven are placed in? Original oven much larger than new oven.
Hmmm I’m not sure on this one. My guess is they are just open spaces that cabinets are built around
Thanks man, brilliant video

thanks! good job.
good one, thanks!!!
Thanks for the video. Hoorah devil-doc!!!
Could you have unplugged the electric from the oven instead of undoing the wires in the back
Yes of course. Mine just did not have a plug in 👍🏼

In the UK it would be a regualtion that the oven was hard-wired and not via a normal wall plug.
Bro this helped me with my piece of shit samsung. Cheers.
Thanks!

Your microwave light appears to be on. Maybe that is just me. Lol
Different power supply and circuit. Ranges are 240v and microwaves are 110v.
4:40 Gobble Gobble!
Those screw on caps for the wires wouldn’t be legal here in NZ. A good place for the wire to burn out. 😟
Shouldn’t be allowed here either. If I did it again I would have put an outlet end on it 👍🏼
Yikes! The door is locked because it failed during self cleaning
Do you have any ideas on how to get to the screws?
You could cut the wires instead of untwisting the wire nuts, it could have eliminated having to work too hard haha
Damn baby...
Dude, you didn’t turn off the power. I kept waiting to see you touch the hot wire and get knocked down.

Not true. We have a microwave above ours that has an independent plug in from the oven, separate breaker.
Sometimes they’re on separate breakers. Ours are.
Every 240v appliance has its own breaker. Just have to turn off the oven, not the whole house.
Oh boy, how many kilos is that things?
Step one : Get big guns!!!
Ok so oven racks are now called "crates" ..got it! ...ugh...and the word is "grates" ...like a sewer grate or grill grate...
@@dh66 No he could not!
Absolutely no reason to remove the door. In fact it makes it harder to pull out the oven once the doors are out

😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣
Are you married ?
You should do less coke when removing an oven.
Step no.1 go to the gym and pump yourself up before making home videos....step no. 2 as per video step No.1 etc
salty
Great video. Thank you.
