There are lots of little differences, mostly in what's available, but here are the biggest differences I found:
1. Front fascia (bigger grille)
2. Remote start is standard on the LT (no longer requires the Convenience Package)
3. Infotainment 3 radio system
4. Auto stop/start override!
There are 2 new colors this year, Oakwood Metallic and Pacific Blue metallic (featured in this video). Arctic Blue and Crush were removed. - Авто/Мото
If you're in the market for a small, compact car, you owe it to yourself to check out the Chevy Cruze. I had almost signed the deal to buy a Honda Civic when I looked at the Cruze. I walked away as the owner of a 2017 Cruze Premier instead of a Civic, and I'm very glad I did. I love the car. Unlike the Civic, it has a real automatic transmission instead of a rubberband CVT. It looks much better and has a lot more standard features than the Civic. The only thing I don't like about the car is the auto-stop/start system and I found a way to bypass that. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but mine is that the Chevy Cruze's styling is NOT behind the competition, just the opposite, and it's definitely NOT a poor design.
Excellent comment! Congrats on the Cruze, you'll love it for years!
How were you able to bypass the autostop/start system?
It's very easy. On a 2nd-gen Cruze with a 6-speed automatic transmission, when you put the car in gear to go, pull the shifter all the way into "L", bypassing"D". The shift knob has an electrical switch on top of it. With the transmission in "L", click the "+" side on the shifter 5 times. On the transmission gear selector display on the gauges cluster, the readout will say "L6". That tells the transmission to shift normally through all 6 gears even though it's in the "L" position.
After the readout on the dash reads L6, just drive as you normally would. This locks out the annoying auto-stop/start "feature". Whenever you stop the car and put it in "Park", the transmission resets to enable the auto-stop/start system unless you remember to pull it into "L" and bump the "+" switch 5 times again. I never even have to think about it anymore, I just do it automatically. This won't void your warranty or damage your transmission as long as you make sure to bump it into "L6" instead of a lower gear.
Lol I have a 2017 Cruze LT and I drive on L6 in stop and go traffic on the highway and the parking lot. Have your Cruze suffered with a water leak from the rear third brake lights? I got mine fixed under warranty.
I have added the Cruze to the list of my prospects for a replacement for my 2006 Cobalt. I looked at the KIA Forte, considered it, but now the Cruze is looking like a better deal, especially since production just ended at the Lordstown, Ohio, plant where the Cruzes were made. I was looking at the Forte, but its CVT (which they call an IVT) is making me a bit cautious. I'm keeping an eye out for discounts at Chevy Dealers. I'm sure they'll be eager to sell every one of them so they can make room for all those crossovers and SUV's which nearly everyone wants nowadays. But not me. I'm not quite ready for that. Cruze, I'm looking at you baby!
"18 looks better. everything in '19 looks like a Toyota
ive been waiting for that auto stop-start bypass for a long time
I have the 2018 LT RS Hatchback and absolutely LOVE mine!
I'm not super hot on that large chrome piece, it kind of messed up the bezels on the grill. Otherwise I like the look of the larger grill. My 2017 Cruze is still new and I love it so far, so it's not like I'm really in it for an upgrade.
I have the 2018 and it quite quick on the road u love it
I LIKE THE OLD HUBCAPS FROM THE NON FACELIFT VERSION. They were more attractive for some reason. But the standard rims on the newer Cruze makes it looks more luxurious for some reason.
The right one has the same front bumper change that came with my 16' cruze
My customers are going to be PUMPED for the auto start stop override!! Thanks for sharing. I'm eagerly awaiting for ours to start coming in off the truck. I check out PDI area daily.
I know right?! I've only lost 1 deal over it, but I think this is a HUGE change, maybe a little overdue. I'm in a good spot where I can see the delivery trucks coming in, but I check Global and our PDI area frequently too :)
How do you override?
@@nerychristian put gear shifter into manual push gear select button to 6th gear every time you start the car
The 2019 LS offers a convenience package that adds 16" alloy wheels instead of steel wheels and hubcaps, cruise control, steering wheel controls, and remote start.
Thank you for your input. My used 2019 Cruze LS came with that 'convenience package'. For a minute there I thought I had the LT version since my vehicle was a rebuilt title and is missing the LS letter on the back. I guess when it got repaired- after the collision- they did not bother putting it back on. The mystery is solved! I'm not disappointed though, it basically the LT with all those added features. (Other than the letters) The car works perfectly.
Dont think the LS has the letters on the back, only the LT and up.
I GOT THAT AND ITS PERFECT
What's up friend, I need your help. I have a Cruz 2019 LS but I don't have the bumper and they are selling me the one for a 2018. Could it be that it would fit well or would I have a problem installing it? Or is it the same? Heeelp pleas
Great video great presentation 👍👍 thanks alot
Thank you :)
Do you know if the software will be updated on infotainment center? I've had to have my module changed out 1 month into ownership.
I haven't heard of anything yet. Do you have an 18 or a 19?
I have 2010 chevy Cruze LT 1.8 petrol, btw I'am Indonesian, in my opinion this car is a great car, and the model still as good as others new cars. There is no problem I have before, I love it and hope never sale it...
How. Do you stop the windshield wipers
Think I’ll stick with my 17 Premier RS. Little things like omitting buttons on all four handles are deal breakers for me.
I'm with ya, that was a huge thing over other brands in my opinion. Very sad to see that go :(
Good review of the differences though! I love my Cruze. Sad to see them quit making them. Bought my 17 brand new. It’s my second one and I’ve loved them both!
@@25brentharris Thank you :) I didn't see that coming, Spark & Sonic need to go and keep the Cruze.
Ken Birdsall I agree 100% man. Not sure what I’ll get when I’m ready to upgrade this one I’d like to stick with GM, Chevy in particular.
Agreed! I've "built" new fully "loaded" 2019 Cruze Premiers on Chevy's website and my 2017 Premier RS has way more options than the 2019's have available. They really stripped them down quite a bit and "cheapened" them out. Really disappointing. The price, of course, stayed the same though!
Is power seat standed or option
Great question! It's standard on the Premier trim and an option on this LT (requires the Convenience Package).
@@KBCarsChevyChannel thanks
Sorry I will stick with my 2017 Chevy Cruze hatchback. Nothing has been change 2018-2019 for performance tho an still the same. I like my Cruze don't get me wrong just the chrome on the bumper just look so ugly.they should put auto stop button on 2017 in the first place.
How do I make my lights do that?
lol it's the refresh rate of the LED's and the camera
@@KBCarsChevyChannel lmao 🤣
quel dommage de plus être en Europe Chevrolet
I nerd your help
No more manual transmission :(
You can turn it off on the 2018 too
There are work-arounds, but not an easy to use button like this :)
Chevy still going cheap on those damn headlights... leds should be standard by now on all cars...
The funny thing is that my Cruze manual for my 2017 mentions an HID headlight option. It is not however, available to ANY Cruze's destined for the U.S.A. Seems it is a European only option! Seems U.S. models from GM always lack options that are available in other markets. It is really irritating.
Hatchback looks better on compact cars
auto stop/start is horrible on any car
You can turn it off pushing 1 button.....
Pacific blue wish its sky light blue
No manual for the diesel they can keep it
The diesel did have a manual option.
@@bikinisforwahinis8111 I don't think the 19 did
@@BigInjun05 no, the 19 didn’t, but 17/18 did have manual in the 1.6 liter diesel.
@@bikinisforwahinis8111 I own the 2.0
@@BigInjun05 me too. The stick was available for 2 years in the 1.6 Whisper Diesel. Didn’t sell well so they canceled it.
Poor design. N its downgrade
You can buy a hatchback only if you live in a low Democrat area.
Chrome looks so cheap on a cheap car. Chevy is a brand of the past. Their styling is behind the competition.
You bad mouth the Cruze because of chrome?
Charles M Rinehart The Cruze can't compare to the competition.
If Chevy is a brand of the past, what is your brand of the future?
Kenneth: Also the Cruze has a 5 star crash rating. That's the highest. Honda has ruined their cars with gaudy, oversize angled tail lights, and Toyota and Lexus with the huge, oversize grilles (the worst). Absolutely laughable designs.
*I'LL TAKE THE 2018 CRUZE OVER A CIVIC, COROLLA, ELANTRA, FOCUS, SENTRA, MAZDA 3, AND EVERY OTHER CAR IN ITS CLASS. ALSO I THINK THE 2019 LOOKS BETTER THAN THE 18.*
