Whatever Brand you choose, just enjoy it , also don't make purchases just because someone say so, i am on team Red but if i would get a Nvidia card my sentiment would be the same , whatever card you get as long it runs properly and do stuff you want it doesn't matter that much , in the end as long you happy with your purchase is all that matters.

      Not entirely so...
How is DLSS, Reflex, Hairworks, PhysX, etc. not for practical or all gamers. Some basic features and DLSS is probably better for more budget gamers. Practical for those that need more fps in online games.
CUDA, Ray Tracing, etc. is for enthusiasts. Nvidia gives the best of both worlds, it just costs extra. AMD offers similar, not as good features but are a much better value if all you do is gaming.

    My conclusion would be:
For competitive gamers, AMD takes the cake in price to performance no questions asked. Competitive players don't need any of Nvidia's features like Ray Tracing or Frame Gen.
For professional rendering and similar stuff, Nvidia still has way better support for most of the applications. Cuda support is coming to AMD's existing cards in the shape of rocM, but we are not sure if that'll be soon or in 2 years.
In AAA titles it's more of a mixed bag.
If you want to future proof for the upcoming titles, you need the VRAM of AMD cards for the improved effects and textures of the new gen games, while still being able to run slightly lighter Ray Tracing.
If you're planning on utilizing all the latest and heaviest RT bells and whistles, you need Nvidia due to their better RT capabilities and Frame Gen to support it.
RTX 4080 & 4090 can do all of the above though, but they're not worth it compared to the RTX 4070 and the RX 7900 series, unless you simply have too much money to spend.

In that case, since there is no front intake, you are better off turning your CPU cooler around and using the back fan as intake. It will use fresh air from the back of the case as intake to feed directly the CPU. If you do that, offset the top exhaust fanst too. Put them as much on the front as you can, to avoit the most back fan sucking the fresh air in between the back and the CPU cooler. My CPU temps are way better now. Previously it was sucking the 400w GPU hot air and it was horrible.

@@Chaosweaver-1 The 1080ti is a beast. if you can, hold until the Blackwell cards come out or until prices drop. Other than that, the RTX4000 cards are amazing excluding the 4060's (theyre a scam lol). The only problem they have is the price and VRAM. It's highway robbery to charge 1200$ on a 4080 and it's not even the flagship card plus it "only" comes with 16GB VRAM.
Personally, I think the VRAM issues are blown out of proportion. Everyone's letting a few badly optimized ports (TLOU, HL, RE4E) define the narrative around VRAM. VRAM allocation =/= usage. Though if you want the card to last a bit, I'd say 16GB for 1440p would be enough for the next few years. Also take into account consoles. They're the systems that the game devs optimize for. They have 16GB of shared system RAM and I'd assume 12GB of that is VRAM. That's a baseline for future games, but it's a crystal ball we're looking at here when it comes to future game's VRAM usage.
It's basically weighing price to performance, but it's a battle of lesser evils here as they all have really bad value, even the RX7900 AMD cards. If you don't care about money, the 4090 is on a performance league of it's own. There has never been a bigger gap between the flagship card and the 2nd card on the line until the RTX4080 vs RTX4090 became a thing. A 3060 with 12 gig of VRAM, out performes the 3070 8Gig, in that game. So to me, the 5% boots in FPS of the 4070TI, does not make up for the massive lack of VRam

I didn't consider AMD when I was getting ready to upgrade due to my monitor being G-sync Ultimate certified. Simple fact 8GB VRAM is NOT enough for 2023 even just 1080p gaming! Do what Linus Tech tips advises, if you can't afford a RTX4070Ti and are thinking of getting an RTX4060: Spend just a little extra and get a second hand RTX3080 10/12GB for $350 which MASSIVELY outperforms even the RTX4060Ti, and which is STILL UNDER WARRANTY! They came with a 3 year warranty, so make sure you get the original receipt and as the RTX3080s haven't even been out 3 years you are safe!
Don't spend over $200 on ANY GPU (regardless of other specs) which only has 8GB VRAM because they are only 720p graphics cards, which is MASSIVELY outdated, as they can't play even all current games as 1080p ultra without glitching!

FSR, FG, DLSS should never be a reason for whay we should buy a graphics card neither should these greedy corporates make it as if its an "amazing, cutting edge" technology that we should base our opinion when it comes to choose which kind or version of cards we should buy, we need to make sure that these companies understand that this technology should be only consider for ppl with low-end graphics card whom cant efford a high-end one, we must make them focus on giving us cards with upgraded raw power and implement DLSS, FSR and Frame-gen just as a gimmicky feature thats it

  • @Costin_Gaming
    @Costin_Gaming Год назад +2

Nvidia hands for two smaller reason a really big one.
    - Better Ray Tracing Performance which will matter more and more as games use it more frequently
    - DLSS is better then FSR AND is the best anti-aliasing option available, or rather DLAA is. Implementation of both DLSS and FSR is becoming the norm in a lot of games.
Finally Frame Generation: Doubling your FPS in games is a major affair, and with upscaling becoming rather common in games it is very relevant these days. I'd use it in every game that I'd play unless, sure the input lag can be an issue, but it's only really relevant if you're really pushing for it as a competitive gamer. Though I have to wonder how someone's performance would compare between 60 FPS in CoD with Frame Gen OFF vs 120 FPS with it on but with 20 MS added.

You Completely Ignore the Biggest Issue.
Which is the Price for for Performance.
Its nice that NVIDIA gives me extra Features to make Fake Frames to make the game look Smoother. But if AMD for the same Price Simply Offers more Raw Performance and thus Simply offers more Real Frames. Then Sorry. But NVIDIA can stick its DLSS where the Sun doesnt Shine.
I mean no Offense. But Seriously.
Why should anyone get a 4080 for 200 Dollars more than a RX7900XTX when it can only give You higher Performance by Inserting Fake Frames in between ???
You are basicly Just Paying for Fake Frames which on top only actually give You a Good Experience if Your Framerate is already Higher than Necessary anyways.
Which is the biggest Joke here. Because if this would allow Lower Cards to Increase the FPS to a Playable Rate on Demanding Games I might even consider this a Plus.
Because having a Game Run on 40 FPS instead of 20 FPS is much more Playable even if there is a bit more Latency in it.
But thats not even the Case. If You dont get 60 FPS already then using this works Terrible.
And while that Competetive Gamer would rather like 120 FPS than 80 FPS but if his Latency Suffers as a Result thats not gonna Fly.
And if a Cheaper Card can give him 100 FPS but without increasing Latency then take a Guess which one he Takes.
You also use DLSS on all the Benchmarks which basicly means that all of that Data assumes the Gamer is Willing to take the Latency Issue.
    Yeah not happening.
    So Yeah no Thanks.
AMD Wins Hands Down for Literally everything here.

Personally I've always considered dlss and fsr and such tech as cheating us out of pure performance uplifts from generation to generation. RT has felt like a gimmick to me as well, most games i either don't notice it, or i have to just carefully look at a scene and turn it on and off to actually notice much of a difference. While in the future its likely to improve, especially with path tracing...but that's years away and it really comes down to how its implemented by game designers. i just upgraded my 3070ti to a 7900xtx. love the xtx and considering the 4080 was $400(cad) more for basically the same raster performance it was a no brainer for me.. If u do both kinds of gaming then i’d go amd due to their better performance at price point than nvidia cards and u can still do ray tracing for that immersion, just don’t expect the performance to be as good as nvidia cards with ray tracing. 1080P ultra settings with any enhancement (DLSS or Raytracing) can and does use more than 8GB of vram during use. This leads to textures not loading and stuttering. The 4060TI is a shining example of this and is not capable of running 1080P completely. It will never be able to run 1440P at ultra for the same reasons in most new games.
Realistically Nvidia actually used to promote that xx60-TI was 1080P, xx70-TI was 1440P, xx80-TI was 4K, and xx90-TI or Titan was Enthusiast top of the line.
Now though xx60-TI is entry/Medium 1080P, xx70-TI is 1080P/medium 1440P, xx80-TI is 1440P/Medium 4K, and xx90-TI is 4K. Nvidia chose to take this approach to the 4000 series and it is on them for making that decision. It has been known for over a year before the release of the 4000 series that Vram was going to be an issue with advancing textures, effects, and enhancements. Saddest thing is it is Nvidia pushing the enhancements that kill their own cards rastorization performance because of the vram limitations.

My hot-take (without watching the video) is that AMD dont really make sense, even if it's just for gaming. For content creation and gaming Nvidia win hands down. All the game devs I know wouldnt touch an AMD card for work - the optimisation for most professional software (UE4, Substance Painter, Blender, Marvelous designer, not to mention AI) is patchy at best. If it's its just for gaming, and im thinking AAA games here (not online competitive ones), then the PS5 breezer over AMD for price/performance. You can find a used optical PS5 now for like $200...it's an absolute no brainer over an entry level AMD system. This AMD GPU popularity is a totally false economy, and I suspect is just for people with more money than sense, or perhaps for competitive gamers (but if you're actualy a succesful competitive gamer, then you wouldnt care about price/performrance and just get the best card out ... which is Nvidia).
The only products AMD are good are their CPU line. Absolutely incredible what theyve done in that space, but their GPU's just dont make any sense.

I will say, my AMD card is fine but it does start having issues when it comes to the strange monitor resolutions like 2560x1080. It will try to manipulate games to match the monitors resolution and will completely softlock the pc (atleast this is a problem I have had)

I have spent the last 2 weeks looking at which CPU, GPU, CASE, CPU COOLER, SSD, RAM, POWER SUPPLY, and to be honest it is driving me round the bend. I liked the white gaming pc you built but can’t get the GPU. I have seen so many things but then you go to choose a gaming monitor and you have gone over £2k which at the moment I can’t justify spending. E even after watching this I am still non the wiser to which GPU to get. I thought about buying a bit at a time and then building it. But I will be in a care home by that time. It’s either a gaming PC, new laptop (current cpu is a AMD A9-9420, fast it is not 😡) or a PS5. I am going to take some pain meds, got a bloody headache now. 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫🥴

I'm uncertain about the sources of your benchmarks, but from the comparisons I’ve observed between the 7900 XTX and the 4080 on Google, the former seems to outperform the latter in nearly every game. I've reviewed the first four or five benchmarks, and this has been consistent. It raises concerns about potential biases towards Nvidia, and I worry that this might lead to the dissemination of inaccurate information. Please ensure that you're referencing reliable and unbiased sources. :)
