Tons of potential here with this device. Love watching you explore new tooling.
Hmmm round stock...could be an opportunity for slip on collars for the purpose of kiss block for more exact thicknesses. Idk sounds good in my head
🙏 God bless yall now brother

Nice tooling! I grind flats on the round stock where it meets the die. More surface contact and won’t move around on you while you weld.

Looks great Roy I seriously think a 1inch square tube welded in the bottom would help stop all the movement in the bottom die

Looks good and excellent placement of the sticker in the changing of the dies shot.

Excellent. Do you thread you own 1" rod / shaft for the upper die?

I have a unusual question. How much inch go down the top die for an half turn (of a complete turn) of balance weel? Thank you

Why did you not weld the bottom die so it doesn't move?

Very helpful video, Roy. Are you using mild steel for all of these new tools? You have got my mind going wild with new tooling for my recently build treadle hammer. One of the things that I noticed right off was how much more effect the top tool has than the bottom tool has. It must be 20% or more. Thanks.

Safety tip Roy, never ever roll material into a bandsaw, if it catches you can find yourself wearing the blade as a necklace! Just don’t do it, super dangerous!
