This Park sign describes "the Snake"
"You are standing at the top of curves that road enthusiasts affectionately call "The Snake". Over the years Mulholland Highway has tested the merits of cars from Duesenbergs to Teslas. This particular stretch of road is a mecca for motorcyclists. It's sharp turns offer an adrenaline rush and a chance for fun, fame and often folly.
To your left is "Edwards Corner". It was named after the late Ed Savko, long-time owner of the Rock Store., a popular road house just down the hill. Hundreds of riders have (----) on this challenging 180- degree curve, perhaps showing off for spectators, who often gather here. Other succumb safely to the charm of "The Snake." "

As a cop, I hate seeing cops just fishing for something to stop someone for. Its ignorant and a waste of time. But thats how all highway patrols are.

Well today they have to be able to cover their salary, pension fund, health insurance, etc... If they can't write enough tickets to cover that cost. They get to be desk jockeys or never get promoted. The state see people as revenue not a person. Hence the high ass ticket cost. Where most people have to pick from a list of payment plans or go hungry!
As I had this same discussion with the cops that used to chase me around town doing wheelies. If I got caught. I had to shine bumpers on fire trucks for two weekends or wash motorcycles... It's not about safety anymore. It's about punishment that doesn't fit the crime when they can take your property! One reason I see blacks as the last hold out like Philly and Detroit. They refuse to be submissive to overbearing government and ride them bikes like a pack of wolves. Where if a cop gets out of his car. They will strip it clean in 5 mins...

For those who scream "go to the track" at this video its notable to point out that although yes it is a city street this particular section of Mullholland is not only irresistibly twisty but has no houses or driveways to worry about until down by the Rock Store. Bikes and fast cars have been here for years so its pretty lame to get ticketed. There is the argument that many crashes happen through this stretch...

I was so focused onto the package on the tail with the bottle that I had missed his bad posture.
@Scott Morris - Body parallele to the bike, or the torso further out than the butt, head should be off the centre of the bike, going the furthest out, like behind or close to the mirror/handlebar grip.
@@biggeneral1628 your shoulders and head should be open to the direction you wanna go not in the opposite direction in favour of just getting the knee far down as possible

As much as I miss SoCal sometimes, I enjoy the fact that most of the good roads in Oregon are not staked out by the police. Have never gotten a ticket in over 5 years of riding here. Usually at a fairly aggressive pace. If only we had more Cali weather in the wintertime!

Do cops care much about speeding on Mulholland or are they more worried about reckless drivers/ riders?
Last time there I was pulled over by a cop for crossing a double line, I challenged him knowing he was turning around and could not have seen me....did you actually see me crossing the line? And before he could answer I STERNLY said the driver in front of me was kind enough and pulled to the right (into a way area) and let me pass. His Answer: No. Ass was about to say he actually saw me cross the line. There is a picture of me on RNickey's website of me in the cops face on my Tuono. Pricks!

Because the track is the safe place to open it up. Not on the streets. You people add to the statistic of knobs who push the bikes too hard on the street and die because unlike the track, there's loads of factors you can't predict on the road. Oil, diesel, an animal running across your path, a car anything
