There are also some people who create, do many things on high level of mastery, have huge experience and have some opinions about this or that to share (critical opinions as well)!
Different opinion doesn't mean disrespecting or insulting somebody!
We all have different approach and we can learn from each other.
This is comment section: we share informations and opinions.

You said "Some days maybe you feel like what ever you do, you can't do the right thing"
You are correct, you can't make everyone happy. And if you try to make everyone happy, you are setting yourself for failure.
Just do your best and what makes YOU happy, that is the content most of your viewers have come here to see.
There will always be someone criticizing your videos. Just take it as a good thing. World would be a boring place if we all had the same opinions and preferences.
Maybe they are having a bad day, maybe their boss was yelling at them at work or just are unhappy with their lives and want to vent to you.
Maybe they just don't like what you did in your videos and that is ok too. We can't please everyone, right?
I have been watching your videos for over five years. I like the variery of things you do because I like you doing them. Came here for bonsai, stayed here for you.
    Just keep on doing you!
    Greetings from Finland

I came for Bonsai, and stay for Bonsai.
It is just annoying to get notified for Bonsai, and you are really happy and then get annoyed with Truck related material or something else Vlog like.
If you know this channel for many years like me, then you know it was strictly Bonsai for many many years, and why give up a concept, that works ?
It is annoying for followers, if a channel changes it's concept, because there are so many channels, you can find already thousand vlog channels.
For me the solutiuon is simple, Nigel needs a second channel to seperate the topics then everyone is happy.
Why annoy people who only come for bonsai if you can just avoid making people mad ?
I am not a mad person, not mad about it, I only try to discuss this topic in a calm and clear/logical way.
Yes, you cannot make EVERYone happy, but at least you can think of a way to avoid disappointing people that followed this channel all the way along.
There is a solution as I meantioned, and it is even a simple one. Many RUclipsrs have more than one channel exactly for this reason, to avoid struggles with their own community, that made them into what they have become now.
If for example Nigel wants to make more Vlogs than Bonsai Videos, it is fine, he can neglect the Bonsai Zone even if he wants, I mean it would be sad, but at least I could accept that more, than getting notified for Car related videos, when I feel like "Yay bonsai with Nigel" and then get disappointed.
I hope this was a useful comment at least.

I liked seeing the build of the temple. Sure, we all would have done things differently, even you if you had to start again. In my country we have a saying: "the best sailors are standing ashore". Which means that it is easy to criticize someone while looking on from the side, doing nothing. I always like watching your videos and it has been a pleasure seeing so many of them lately.

I'm sorry to hear others aren't enjoying the temple construction! However my friends and I really enjoyed many aspects of it. From the exciting reveals seeing how a newly cast piece turns out(for better or worse lol) , to your crafty DIY solutions for solving problems. We really enjoyed the creativity and seeing your skills at work! Making the worlds these trees live in is part of process and we would like to see it. You should post whatever you want regardless of what it is as long as your enjoying yourself, we are here for your personality and the things you find fun. I think most people are.

    Second 😁
Sorry to hear that there has been any negativity regarding the temple project. I’ve been with it since the start - it has become like a little bonsai serial drama - and I’m keen to get to the end of season and see the finished result 😁
I guess that in doing a RUclips channel you are putting your head above the parapet and making yourself an open and easy target. Be assured there are people who very much appreciate the content and the personal journal style. The side projects, the cars, the construction, you doing your son’s paper round(😂) all add to the character and charm of the channel, and distinguish it from others.
I noticed that even the Japanese trained “bonsai superstars” like Ryan Neil and Bjorn Bjorholm get thumbs down on their videos. Haters gonna hate.
    Ps. “Franken-ficus’s spa day...” 🤣
Pps. The cat must be having a day off.

Nigel let me say first of all you are always doing the right thing on The Bonsai Zone because its your channel. Impossible to please everybody so focus on what you like. There are so many of us that love your channel, love all the aspects of The Bonsai Zone (not just the tree work). The glimpses into your other hobbies and activities round out this channel and make it special. It's not your bonsai work & teaching that make this channel unique (even though they are great), it's you. It's your authenticity, your energy, your honest pursuit of your hobbies is what makes this channel special. Keep being you! The problem with growing any fanbase is that the small percentage of disgruntled people or trolls starts to become real numbers as the overall population grows and their voice can start to seem louder than it really is.
To the Bonsai Zone positive fans please take time to let Nigel know when you are liking things.
To the trolls go live under another youtubers bridge.
I for one can't wait to learn more about bonsai, cant wait to see the temple finished, and am looking forward to truck work, Porsche work, the greenhouse being built etc etc Like I said in a previous videos comments we really appreciate the time and effort you put into these videos!

The temple project is ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! Please don't change a thing about what you do, Nigel. The best thing about your channel is that it is different from other bonsai channels. You are not afraid to experiment and break some of the bonsai "rules", which is very refreshing and makes for some unique and wonderful trees. Haters gonna hate, as they say. Concentrate on the viewers that love and appreciate the videos you bring them.

I’m pondering on this now, and I think, that this channel is absolutly about bonsai, because it’s also about everything surrounding bonsai. All the projects, the truck, greenhouse, plantroom, community gardens, they tell about importance of paciance and persistance in your work. Working on temple and pots is highly inspirational. It gave me couple ideas how to solve my own projects. Bonsai art does not exist in a vacium, using knowledge and methods from other crafts, is briliant.

Nigel. I have been watching your life unfold on your channel for years now. Your work on the community garden, renovating the truck, dismantling the huge greenhouse, feeding your chickens, shovelling the snow and doing battle with the elements ranged against you, rebuilding the plant room, your many bonsai projects. The walks in your neighbourhood, giving me an insight to life on the other side of the planet. The list goes on. It takes great courage to put yourself out there like this, and i guess the risk is a few haters venting their bile your way. I often walk many miles with a friend of mine and i'd like you to know that on several occasions i have talked about your latest video whilst surrrounded by the countryside of middle england. You have reached out across the globe with the sharing of your life and, in so doing added to the enjoyment of mine. Looking forward to the greenhouse rebuild this year!

Hi Nigel - I love the bonsai stuff, I enjoyed the temple project and I think it is impressive how you create such a good end result even with a lot of trial-and-error and hardly discarding any parts. I am not all that into cars, but it doesn’ bother me at all. One of the things that get me up in the morning is the excitement of checking The Bonsai Zone for new videos, which I will then watch as I have breakfast.
Once I received some harsh criticism from a number of people, a person I admire told me: Some a**holes are just for waiting for you to make a mistake. But don’ worry, they are the losers in this world.

Originally I was drawn in by the trees, but over the years of following you I have come to appreciate your enthusiasm, dedication and passion for what you do. It’s obvious that you love your trees but the time, effort and quality you put into the filming and editing your videos has been very much appreciated by many people! Keep being awesome and don’t let the critics get you down the trees brought me here but it is your genuine character that keeps me tuned in and looking forward to each new adventure with you.

Hi Nigel! Great video as usual! I appreciated how in-depth you went in explaining the growth pattern of the Bougainvillea. That kind of info is so valuable to share and learn about!
Regarding the people who post negative comments at you, one thing you must remember is this:
People are always more inclined to speak up if they're UNhappy about something, than when they are happy about something. That means you are hearing/seeing a disproportionately large ratio of negative to positive comments than what is the true feeling of the community as a whole.
I'll wager that the people who enjoy the Temple series and similar stuff outnumber the haters 100 to 1. I love seeing how you make bonsai-related material because it teaches and inspires me to do bigger better things. Thank you and KEEP IT UP NIGEL, YOU'RE PERFECT JUST AS YOU ARE!

    Nigel...
I start every day with one of your videos. For me, it's starting my day with good vibes and creativity. I don't make videos, but I try to spread those elements out into the world... It's the only way I can see it improving.
There are those who instead try to find negativity in everything. Don't let them get to you.
This is your channel, your projects, and a small bit of your life. You're doing what makes yourself and others happy... Which is awesome!
I'm not a fan of labels of any kind.
I kinda see The Bonsai Zone as a way of life, rather than a channel strictly on bonsai... Which can get monotonous. I see other channels try to stick to the "bonsai channel" label, which have no content when there's nothing to do, like winter.
I enjoy the walks, bike rides, plant room construction, the orchard truck (which I drool over), as well as all the other side projects...It's all creativity.
I suppose I just want to thank you for sharing a small piece of you with the world.

Gday Nigel 👍 don't take the negative comments to heart mate. There are plenty of YT channels dedicated to traditional bonsai, to high end bonsai, to beginners bonsai etc, but people tune into The Bonsai Zone for your take on all things bonsai.
From general care, to making pots, your penjings including the temple (amazing work), even the neighbourhood walk about have relevance to bonsai (I know I always take inspiration for my trees from what I see around my neighbourhood). I've learned many a thing from watching your channel and love that you embrace non traditional plants as much as you do the traditional. Great work mate, keep it up and best wishes from down under 👍

I should also say that your meticulous attention to your root systems on your trees has been a big influence on me as I get into the world of bonsai. All about those radial roots 👌

Nigel i woke to this video this morning and watched as i always do, then when watching and listening to you work on the Bougainvillea you really hit my heart - to hear you talk about the nay sayers was really upsetting on your behalf, i remember you telling me not to worry too much about the negative comments or the dislikes. But it is very difficult not to take it all personal not matter how thick skinned you are, on th ewhole i think people enjoy the variation on the channel and you have built up a community all on your own. We love you Nigel we love what you do Bonsai or not youve welcomed us in with open arms and most of us love and appreciate it while others are scared by it - keep doing what you are doing the channel keeps growing so you are doing something right, wishing you nothing but good things from here in Sheffield, England.

I’m so sorry that the negativity is wearing on you. Some people just aren’t satisfied with their lives, and unfortunately they sometimes take it out on others. No matter what anyone does, there will (sadly) ALWAYS be complainers. You are absolutely right that if they don’t like an episode, or what you are doing generally, the appropriate thing for them to do is watch something else (instead of making your day miserable). I love your channel. I enjoy watching the bonsai care, temple building, the community gardens and orchard, working on the truck, talking about the Mars landing, enjoying your bike, etc. It’s a pleasant part of my evening routine watching what you are up to. After a stressful (many times) day at work, it’s so great seeing your optimism, learning things from you, and enjoying how you explain your decision making process. You are a really good person, making contributions to both your local community as well as your virtual community. Keep up the great work and don’t let the “haters” get to you (I know that is really hard).

Like a lot of people I joined you for the bonsai content. But over the years I’ve been enjoying all your videos.Trucks, cycles, plant room build etc. Usually catch them first thing in the morning having breakfast with the dogs. Great start to the day. So keep doing what you’re doing whatever the content. We’ve been really spoilt with a video a day recently. But love them all.

Oh yes,it happened me too, being criticised by certain people who in fact aren't in the same boat with me (including my passion for bonsai too - once I told someone about my former bonsai willow trees and I was told "what would you do with willows?" - that's being said,I did whatever I wanted with that willows since I bought myself the pots and soil for them, including collected branches.Very similar with the comments left by those people who can't appreciate handmade things (that's one of the things I'm really keen on here at The Bonsai Zone😋), also planting bonsai right from seed, etc a looot of procedures I really learnt from your channel.Certain people aren't agreeing with what you say,ok ...I understand that bonsai isn't suited for everyone, you need patience and vision for this,as I've seen on this channel.
    .
Personally,I really love the temple idea,I can't wait to see it in its full glory and I'm very happy that those rude comments didn't do anything to you.Keep it on,cheers The Bonsai Zone ♥️💡🤗

I support your view on taking unconstructive criticism. You don't need to take criticism if it's only purpose was to mock or downgrade your work. I think it''s very easy for some to complain about minute and possible irrelevant details rather than focusing on the great work you care to share with us. Only recently discovered your channel but staying for the relaxing and thoughtful videos.

It really upsets me that the negative comments have hurt you. I think you are truly passionate about what you do and from reading the comments below, you have a huge following of devoted viewers. I learned more about bonsai from you than anyone else and I believe I already told you, that I even enjoyed your truck videos. We all live narrow lives, especially this last year, and we are truly fortunate that you allow us to share a part of your world. That’s why people feel they know you and regard you as a friend. I, for one, thoroughly enjoyed your temple creation and was a little disappointed not to see the finished result. Now I understand why you took a break, but it would be a shame if the naysayers got to you. It seems that almost all the comments you received about the temple were positive and we are eagerly waiting for the completion. This is called the bonsai ZONE which means related to bonsai and the temple definitely belongs in the zone. We truly appreciate everything that you do. I’m constantly amazed at your boundless range of interests, enthusiasm and passion. I look forward to all the videos that you post and hope to do so for many many years. Now about that temple.........!!! Good luck and cheer up!

Nigel, don't get too discouraged by the criticism. Haters gonna hate, no matter what you do. In the end, you have great hobbies and you are showing them to us. I am not the most technical person in the world and cars are not my thing at all but when I see the passion and systematic approach you apply to your truck, I am just consumed by it and cannot turn the videos off even if I wanted to :-) Se keep them coming :-) Thank you for the work you do. And get that greenhouse done this year, I am waiting for it :-)

Dont concentrate on the bad comments. Try to concentrate on the good ones! I am sure there are many people who like your channel.
You have the big talent to show and explain things very easy and interesting that everyone can understand it. I really could not imagine a better Bonsai teacher!
And the work with your temple is just great! You really can be proud of it.

I am new to your channel and I would just like to say that I have enjoyed all your videos, the ones dealing with bonsai trees are very informative but I have found especially interesting and inspiring the way you have planned and built your temple and Chinese village. I now have a much better grasp of how to make my ideas a reality. The renovation of your plant room and trips out in your truck to the community garden are another added dimension. During this past year I am sure that you have brought alot of happiness to many people who have felt isolated and lonely, to allow us to get a glimpse into your life and hobbies is very generous. And I for one can't wait to see your finished temple, the development of the edible forest and any other projects that you care to share with your followers. Thank you for the time and enthusiasm that you put into your channel.

Nigel, I very much enjoy watching your videos. I can compare your videos to The joy of Painting with Bob Ross, very calm and enjoyable and informative. Much like Mr. Ross he paints this amazing painting and decides to take a turn at the very end which appears to "ruin" the painting, but in turns really makes it even more beautiful. You have these amazing trees that are gorgeous and then prune them down to twigs, but in the end they come out gorgeous. I hope that made sense. Keep doing what you like and don't let others get to you, like you said they don't have to watch the channel.

No matter what you do and how good it is, there are always the few that will be negative. The Bonsai Zone will always be a great place for me to go. I enjoy it all from the truck videos to the plant room renovation and the nature walks. The temple is an awesome project, just like the Mars soil was. I think my favourite thing about your channel is your ingenuity and inventiveness. Not only are you always willing to try new things, but you are able to teach us about the fundamentals and best practises for bonsai without getting too hidebound in the rules, like your fiddle leaf fig tree for instance. It can be discouraging trying to learn when your source of information doesn`t want you to deviate in the slightest from the tradition, whereas you always encourage us to experiment, even if something doesnt work out, we will have learned something in the process. Thanks, Nigel!

I would like to show you, Nigel, some contrast to the critical aspects of your temple build. Not because you need to be patted on the back or the head, but to highlight perspective that all of us has shaded out sometimes.
Without your videos and your vast personal experience on the hobby of bonsai I would not be enjoying this hobby for the past two years. You highlighted the personal connection one should form with The Hobby itself to get a full experience. Your passion and enthusiasm towards this channel and bonsai gave me a near unlimited ambition when I started.
I have quadriplegia and that has many physical limitations, but I used my strengths together with your many videos and knowledge of bonsai to create a wonderful hobby experience I will enjoy the rest of life.
I did not watch many of your truck videos because it was not something I was interested in, but I did enjoy a few when I didn't feel like watching anything else.
This cement Temple and ficus build project is something I enjoy greatly. I'm now 3 weeks into creating a mold with clay to cast a cement bonsai pot of my own. I wouldn't have done it without your Temple project as inspiration.
Just remember the biting edge of critiques are a shadow, and you will see it has only temporarily shaded a positive experience.

So many people benefited from following you when they started (or even if they didn't) but then they follow their own path in bonsai and are too quick to forget that there are many paths both in terms of horticulture and aesthetics and take bonsai to be a religion with their path as the only path. I enjoy following your journey and that of your trees. I love the temple and I thing is is outstanding. I challenge most that criticize you to be able to design something nearly as good as what you did. Keep strong and I hope we can meet in person after the pandemic.
