As someone that's played Turtle since there were no more than ~50 online at any given time and only one raid group, it's really surreal to see the server blow up the way it has. It makes me really happy to see the rest of the community fall in love with this server the same way I did years ago, and I really appreciate people like you showing off the best parts of it.
Just checked it out...and yeah..not even close to enough talent/skill changes to make it a fun and new experience like VanillaPlus... I like how they made their own content n shit, but they need to do the same changes to the actual classes that VanillaPlus has. Most classes still have useless specs, whereas VanillaPlus made an effort to make all specs viable. If by some miracle we had the vanillaplus classes and turtlewow custom content combined together...then we'd have a true Vanilla+ experience.
The crazy talent changes are exactly what drove so many people away from Vanilla+, to be honest. They went too hard out the gate and it quickly became just another "different classes on Vanilla content" server. I think most Vanilla fans prefer the Vanilla class design, we just wanted ever spec to be viable in raids, which they now are.
@@EXP_Jenova No they aren't survivalist hunter is still trash for example, most of them are barely any different. V+ doesn't go too hard, it just made them all strong and viable, and unique while adhering to the class fantasy. There's nothing "different classes on vanilla content server" about that. They just have a few more abilities to keep up some different variables instead of literally just pressing frostbolt better than the next guy or whatever. People who want "Vanilla Plus" meaning vanilla with new iterations afterward also want each spec to be useful and thats definitely not the case on turtle.
I would LOVE to see the journey as long and unedited as possible! This looks soooo fun and brings back so many memories! I wouldn't even hesitate to watch a 4h+ VOD before going to bed! :o

@Mcdoubles You can access War mode in your starting zone, orc cave has a vendor in the very back of the cave that sells two scrolls, and one of them is for war mode :). Also I would like to say in addition to war mode, in STV (Hemet Nesingwary's Camp) you will be given a quest that unlocks the survival tree. If you level this tree to 75 i believe (you have to buy the recipe from the vendor in the camp) you will unlock the Traveler's Tent. These give you tons of rested xp very fast. You can find them in Crossroads all the time.

You better keep this series going. You're the reason I started playing Turtle wow the other day and I'm already level 30 on my mage. It's the best classic experience ever made. The custom content is amazing and extraordinarily well placed. I did a 17! part quest in Westfall that gave me an amazing held in offhand orb.
This is awesome, really keeps the wc3 feeling going, I checked out turtle wow a while ago but left because it felt kind of janky and unfinished, especially the new high elf zone in northern lordaeron, but I might have to revisit it. I love high elves, and the ones they made really fit the bill on the elves from warcraft 3, and having goblins in vanilla is awesome too, plus the way they made them also feels very warcraft 3/vanilla. I hated how goofy and modern they made the goblins in cataclysm.
@@sologemeni They've moved away from a focus on the characters and their growth within the world, and because of that it feels hollow and empty. Every character from wc3 has been ruined in wow and no new characters have been given any space or dialogue to grow.
I don't really have time for WoW atm, especially for Turtle WoW but I really enjoy watching your content. I hope you keep playing on this private server. Your efforts are appreciated.

Stuff is really nice man Dont skip new dungeons Im almost lvl50, doing lapidis isle. I think horde has the gilijim isle right below They've done a wonderful job, especially with racial quests. Im playing high elf, there's a quest to get us a moonwell in High elven base, it is so cool
You can get a riding turtle mount at level 18 at the DMF from a quest. Riding speed is half your level until you buy riding skill and then goes to regular speeds.
I've been reading about Turtle for a long time and never really payed attention to it since I don't really like vanilla. After your videos I'm seriously thinking of trying it out, it seems that it could be really fun.
Love your videos man! Watched a lot of your Ascension videos but turtle wow is my home now for the last year 🐢 You can start the war mode challenge at any level btw. You can start at level 1. And you can disable it, but only once ever. The glyph vendors are at all starting areas. Looking forward to your journey and maybe seeing you out there 🙌
well after the first video, i wasnt sold because i didnt feel like i wanted to experience vanilla leveling anymore. Well now im sold, it could be nice just having a chill game to not really worry about much and relax and level.
this is what i needed, i had a classic itch after playing tbc and hardcore lvling is fun but the feel seemed like classic was dead, these new dungs and quests are very cool and im jumping in again!
would be fun if warmod gave like 150% xp but the opposite fraction could kill you o 75%xp in a pvp-zone with pvp turned off - but i guess some like blizzard could not even come up with it since its blasmesy against corporate theoretical guidelines about maximum profit acording the Goblin manifest
I played back when we had 120 people online, lowest point was 15 people one night... God bless they are going strong. I should go back, back to turtle. I was the 13th Immortal, the 2nd Warlock. Cathlanna, and so I should go back.
They’ve basically gone to each Starter Zone and re done the same quest to keep it ethical.. and feeling the same, I do want to check this server. Project Deus comes out soon and that’ll replace ascension for me personally..
This is great i love it Please do ask some high level people abt custom content, some of it is not as easy to find as you think but in defenetly worth it :)
I like the Turtle wow stuff, would be interested in seeing more, but it seems like it’s eating up a lot of time as well. Don’t wanna miss out on Ascension content lol
Re: War mode exp bonus. I think that 30% bonus also applies to quests. And if so, since it persists through level 60 that means 30% more money-for-exp for doing quests at max level. :^) Man, I hope I'm right about that, gonna start playing again to find out and see.

same. The custom aspect is actually something a young version of me would have gone nuts over. It's a different type of hit.

No there is a glyph vendor in every starting zone. The stranger aka sylvanas is for HC mode.
