I’ve been running for 51 years, in the middle of a hard training block and have 190 miles on my Zoom Fly’s. Gotta say Ed I totally agree with your review (including the thin laces part). An absolutely awesome shoe!
So wonderful see Nike finally perfected the Zoom Fly! So happy! Finally brought back the Vaporweave from the ZF3! Best material for water resistance and keeping dirt, dust, and stones out of your shoes and not absorbing sweat making extremely fast drying. I'm still on the perfection ZF3 still using my first pair over 2000 miles, close to 3000 miles now! Absolutely incredible shoes! And ZERO injuries over all those miles and years of running in this one shoe!!! Absolute perfection!!!
Most remarkable shoe I've owned in my 40 years of running because: (1) it gives a huge boost to any tempo (2) it absorbs road shock keeping my legs fresh for longer (3) it shoes no sign of breaking down after 250km. Game changer!
Cup of coffee and an EddBudd video is like a comforting wave of warmth pulling on a hoodie or fresh t shirt after a race. I really want this shoe but my shoe collection already too big! Great stuff Ed.
Stopped running in Nike in the 1980s after they discontinued the original Pegasus! Haven't picked up a pair of Nike until you reviewed the zoom fly 6. I took your word and heeded your advice and I'm not disappointed! Great shoe, great review. It was totally spot on!
Just got mine recently and very happy with it. As you said, when you hit those half marathon and marathon paces, it really comes alive. Cheers from frigid Western Canada.
Dude, 20 years? Meaning you completely missed out on a decade of complete market dominance in racing shoes from the Vaporfly to the Alphafly Next%. The era arguably hasn't yet ended.
@benjaminzaoui9683 Yup. Luckily there are plenty of other manufacturers out there and until this carbon plate malarkey kicked off, I was pretty much a Kayano guy anyway. 😉
I had signed up for my first Marathon with 5 weeks to get ready. I had a problem with a shoe I ordered and was in a scramble for a "race shoe". Since I had never run more than 15 miles I didn't wanna go nuts with a super shoe since I had really never run in a carbon plated shoe. I got this on your first video on it and ran a 3:15 Marathon. It's a solid shoe!
Sensational shoe. Was lucky enough to pick up 2 pairs from Sports Direct for £130 each, with 2 x £20 vouchers chucked in too…Fine at easy paces, the foams make for a super fun and comfortable ride, it excels at MP & HMP where I feel the plate starts to engage more. Please Nike, DO NOT f*ck up the next iteration!
Fully agree with your assessment Edd….great shoe. Only time I won’t reach for it is when outside temps go below zero f. Even two miles got pretty cold on the feet.
Bucket seat! So true! It’s looking awesome at 100 miles. I’m a multi shoe owner myself. 2 Kipchoge’s and 1 Ekiden. I love having two fresh pairs still in the box because this shoe suits me to a tee. The Ekiden is awesome in hand. Don’t let the pictures put you off. Off topic but I found a pair of Nike Invincible Run 3’s today that I only payed $57 for. Score!!!! Reduced to $114 and 50% off that. It helps take the some of the sting of waiting for 2025 releases.
One run so far, hill intervals. Very impressed with the comfort and energy return, and I can see these quickly becoming my favourites for non-trail runs.
Thanks for your vid again eddbud 🎉. Wonder if nike will bring back the tempo next % as I feel like I missed out on that 1 and that it would have suited me , maybe this is what I will get now.
Mine are due to arrive tomorrow, needed something cushioned yet propulsive for a plethora of road races this year. Injury avoidance No1 priority 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
Ed the nab again! It is my first ever shoe from Nike and I am curious for my first run in them. Btw, I got this Ekiden colourway, whiet with those red flames since they were at the time of order the only ones available in those 2 sizes (i always order 2-3 sizes to make sure i got it right and there is no daubt about the correct size - ever!). Didn't cost anything additional + i don't like the black colourway anyway, looks somehwta plastichy in the videos. Or maybe it is just the videos, idk. Excited to try them! :)
Hi again algorithm! Popular sizes tend to get sold out within a day of stock replenishment for Zoom Fly 6 on our Nike site, and non-Nike sites/stores don't seem to get any colourways aside from that hideous flame premium version here, it's quite the pain in the arse to get a pair.
I wore my Zoom Fly 6s (same colour way) in the Brass Monkey half (York), yesterday. Knocked 10 minutes off last year’s time but that might be more due to being 2 stone lighter..
I've been reluctant to support Nike after reading Kara Goucher's book....and I've never really had much luck w/ their fit anyway (often too narrow). But this is the first one that has intrigued me in a while. Is the toebox decent? I end up removing the insole from many of my shoes since I usually crave more space whenever possible. Thanks for the review!
I have these and have just clocked over 380km. At what point would you consider getting a replacement pair? So far durability is really holding up and the only signs or wear for me are the outer sole on the outer edge as I'm a forefoot striker. In terms of running pattern, run 4 times a week, same 11km route around local town.
I have too many shoes… I use a pyramidal training method so my “fast” miles are pretty premium for speed trainers or carbon racers; however if I plan on racing in an alphafly 3, is the zoomfly a good enough training companion or should I pony up and buy another alphafly as a trainer to run into the ground?
Is it suitable for heavier runnersover 100kgs? I had the alphaflys for a marathon and the midsole between the airpods collapsed in the middle and then heel showed awful wear after 60kms. Both heel midsoles look similar.
Got my 1st in the GOAT (EK) colourway.. loved them (went up half a size). I have 180km on them. Just got my second pair in the Ekiden colourway.. absolute madness but life can be a laugh (no more EK in stock in NZ) Otherwise the new colour in NZ is a patchwork of ugly browns. Nasty.
@@kevinlevinson9512 if you are racing for ratified records, the limit to midsole thickness is 40mm. Most of us don’t have to worry about world records 😊

I must be the only person in the world that didn’t like this shoe 😂 I sold mine after 20k, maybe I should have given them a bit longer to break in but I just prefer something a bit lighter and with a more aggressive rocker. They just felt a bit clunky and flat for me.

It’s a real joy this shoe. Love everything here. Decent price too

Agree on everything in this review… especially on the “bucket seat” heel and the excellent forefoot outsole. 🤙🏻
Glad you like them!

178K’s on my ZoomFly 6! Excellent shoe, in fact “maybe” the do it all shoe.
Just got mine recently and very happy with it. As you said, when you hit those half marathon and marathon paces, it really comes alive. Cheers from frigid Western Canada.
I haven't bought anything from Nike for over 20 years, but this shoe is really calling to me.
@@leebrown3645 Nike can produce some Dud shoes in my opinion, but not this one. I think they finally hit a home run with the Zoom Fly6.
It is very nice!

I’ve been loving this springy shoe. I did size up 1/2 size and glad I did. Thanks for another fine review.
My pleasure!
I love this shoe. Best trainer I have ever used. I bought after I watched your first review of this shoe. Thanks!!
Glad you enjoy it!
I’ve got a pair, plan to use it for Long Marathon training runs and likely race day itself. I really like it!

Yeah the material is a touch thin
Been years since my last Nike, maybe over a decade even. You're seldom off with your recommendations, Edd, so I may give this a go.

Hope she enjoys them!

Like to EDDBUD. Happy Monday.
Morning!
Love the zoom fly 6 i got the EK color way and probaly got about 20 or so on mine
Banger of a shoe. Love mine. Need another one now though!
ASICS running shoes are the only I trust cause they are the only injury free shoes I have tried so far
Love the placement of the Star Wars characters.
Thanks for noticing

Enjoy!
Nice work as usual.

Sign of a good shoe!
Just bought my 2nd pair in the Ekiden colourway, my first pair is EK colour 😂
Finally a decent update by Nike (Zoomfly 5 was so bad...)
Yeah the v5 was awful! This is a totally different shoe
Thank you, Edd.
Very welcome

Seems like a really good one.
When you say dual foams, does it have react? Also, that's a great result. Nice to see you blown away by Nike.
@@by_onic it’s zoomx and sr02 foams
Thanks 😊
I just ordered this. My very first pair of plated shoes and very first pair of Nike too. 😂
“Dodgy Glue Marks” would be a good band name 😆
Got to be a punk band

Multiple pair user here, 250 miles and still has life on the original pair. Can’t go wrong with this swoosh option EB
Yes it’s their best at the moment. Easily
prefered to run in my zoom fly 6 than my superblast 2.😅
Do you ever review Joma shoes?

How does this compare to the Saucony pro and speed 4s
Bit more energising and upper lockdown feels more tuned in for me
What you think about the Zoom fly 6 vs adidas evo SL ?
More pop in the fly and more stable overall
@ so the fly would be a better shoe
ZF6 v Mach X2 v NB Balos??
Don’t have the balos. Have covered the other two in a comparison before
This or Evo SL 🤔
This is more well rounded. The evo is v squashy

The more durable foam in the lower midsole section should be a bit more up to the task
