After 14 years of building Bandai kits, the Apocalypse went above and beyond any PG, MG, RG I've built. This is a MUST KIT. No paint needed, tons of details, undergated, articulation, stand, unboxing and glow effect.
So, how easy is a build like this compared to Bandai MG kits? Is it harder/easier is the quality just as good? I only ask because I'm still semi new to the hobby and I've never built anything outside of Gundam's.
@@TdMe99 it will be a bit harder because it is more complex compared to most Bandai mgs. But it is a lot of fun and if you take your time you should do fine. Quality is good you won't regret it.
im really glad that i came across your channel, very insightful reviews. i have a few questions though, 1 when you highlight the issues with the kit throughout the video, i was constantly thinking if this is a standard off (gundam) brand issue and is it something that i can look pass if i have the skill, which i dont think i have....but at the end you say its minor issue but proceed to give it B, is it really minor issues because im really not good at putting additional effort to fix issues.. 2 i am casual builder, over the years i have only build only a handful of model kits that i find absolutely beautiful, but i have to get new tools every time between the kits as the tools get dulls mysteriously...any advise on this?
@@EienKai first off thanks for the compliment. Now to try and answer your questions. 1) you have to remember I don't use an S tier scale for my reviews. If you check my channel trailer I have a video that shows my grading system of A through F. So a B+ is a really high score for me. Also my was a pre-release copy so there was some manufacturing things that may have changed since the release of the kit and I have heard it has. Mine had some issues that required me to fix using glue and cutting which was a big pain but nothing above my skill level. Also I try to review a kit from the perspective of someone who is fairly basic in the hobby. So if there is anissue that would have really annoyed me when I first started I try to take that into account. This kit also had a lot of engineering that was awesome but took a lot of effort to put together properly. Not bad but still more difficult than an average Bandai kit. So if you have a few mgs under your belt I would say you could give it a try. 2) I'm not sure why your tools wear down without use... Ghost maybe? 🤣. But maybe humidity and moisture in where you store them?
Great review, very detailed, thanks for the heads-up on some parts. Mine is about to arrive within less than a month, I just had to rewatch this. I'm pretty hyped right now, though also worried since I've watched and read different reviews of this kit. it seems that their experiences vary from one another, others have a satisfactory building experience and only needs a little sanding (without needing glue) while some had it worse (even broke the chin piece) but one matter is consistent; the fitting issues. I know the quality control isn't excellent since this kit was only produced by an independent company but they could've done better, it's definitely a great kit, aesthetically and mechanically. Unfortunately, what brings it down is the building experience which is intimidating for me. And I'm planning to paint this too at some point, so I can already imagine the hassle of disassembling it and putting it back together. I guess the "third party companies" or independent brands that I'm confident with are still In Era, Motor Nuclear and SNAA.
First thank you. Second I agree with the quality control of kits. I only think it can get better over time like the companies you mentioned. I think you will enjoy it none the less. The final product is solid just be prepared to deal with some annoyances.
Just bought this kit(waiting for it to arrive). Do you think the upcoming LED kit for this is worth it? Same with the shield/bird kit that also out on preorder?
Only UV light make it glow? I thought ordinary room light is enough, like any glow in the dark toys. it is Ok using UV or direct Sunlight, kinda affraid make the white plastic turn yellow fast.
Uv and natural were the best results with what I can test with. I don't have any regular bulbs in my home so I wasn't able to test with florescent lights.
@@MetalmanX Bought it, i like that you said it has lots of parts, thats what sold it for me. My first gunpla was In Era Lizard it has 900+ pieces took me like 60+ hours or more lol, but the finished mecha is amazing i love it how detailed it is and the miniguns are insane. Ordered Aurora also looks amazing too. Im addicted to plastic crack lol.
This kit looks great but none of the uk third party sellers stocked it sadly. anyway I can’t really afford to buy this and sky defender anyway, and I definitely would rather have sky defender.
@@MetalmanX I guess that’s the upside for me in the uk. There aren’t many gunpla collectors let alone third party collectors so the preorders are still open over here.
@@MetalmanX do you maybe know anything about the company behind it being the Zero Gravity under the different name? I remember them changing it to Soul Vogue some time ago.
100% Nope. Apocalypse is cool but Sky defender has become such a standard. That till now every kit releasing after got compared and shadowed in the CN community, include Apocalypse sadly.
I have not gotten a hold of the sky defender so I really couldn't answer the question. It's definitely a fun build with some great engineering but I couldn't say for sure
Another awesome video dude! I’m SO looking forward to this one!
It has some major shelf presence indeed. Thank you as always 🙏

Im new to this... So, is this not a gundam model? It's a chinese inspired Mobile suit?
