Read in a post on Postgres that serial and bigserial were deprecated and it wasn't good practice to use them. For the life of me I cannot remember the reason they gave. Is it not true? I would much prefer creating primary keys that are autoincrementing.

It has weird behaviours, Postgres recommend using incrementing identity columns, i made the same comment but they deleted it :(
