      @@ComicKish So many things to consider, so I won’t be able to decide for you. What Taylor guitar is it?
      Do you favor the sound of mahogany over something else?
      Taylor tends to be much more modern in sound and feel, the 15 series is very much the opposite.

    The 000-15m only gets better with age. The sound really opens up and deepens. Mine is about 5 years old now. It's a regular 15m - I removed the pickguard when I got it and I'm wearing in the finish with hours of playing. Took a tour of the Martin factory to see where they made it last year. Great seeing all the Mahogany bodies in production.

    I have this guitar and love it! I play a lot of fingerstyle like you and it is the warmest well rounded sound I've found. I played every guitar at the Martin Factory in PA last summer and the only one that grabbed me was the 000-16 Streetmaster. It will be my next guitar...similar the 000-15M Streetmaster but with the VTS Spruce top, it has the "other" sound that I sometimes am looking for. It is more articulate than the 000-18 or 000-28HD that I played at a fraction of their prices!

      How would you compare that to the D-15m Streetmaster?
      I bought the d-15m recently online and got it and sounded beautiful, but better for picking. I had to return it bc when hammering on the first few frets of the high-E string, it twanged and fizzled out (the sound). I was so bummed but now thinking of getting the 000 style bc they say it's better for finger picking.

      It’s tough to say, because I think every 000-15 will sound slightly different. My 000-15 sounds incredible, it’s light and very responsive, the StreetMaster I borrowed was too, but felt and sounded somehow stiffer, not in a bad way. It might just be a setup thing tbh. In truth I would just go for the one that look and sounds the best to you. Some of the StreetMasters can in my opinion look it little too overdone with the relic.

    Chris, I bought the 000-15m in large part because of the work you've done here. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I've spent some time learning these parts youve composed and they're living on here in NC with me! What capo are you using here? The ones I have aren't fitting the neck profile of the Martin all that well. Take care!

    Chis great video as usual. I would like that I know how you we ould compare/describe the differences between the 000-15 and the 000-15 streetmastet? I feel that although they are the same guitar, they sound different?

    • @ChrisEffort
      @ChrisEffort  2 года назад

      Thanks! There is a difference, but it’s slight. Even two 000-15’s can sound different. I know that Martin has changed what kind of mahogany type wood they have used over the years. They’ve used Honduran mahogany, Sipo, sapele and other variants too, I believe. But I think the biggest difference is age, this particular StreetMaster is about 5 years older than the 00015 I had, and the StreetMaster sounded much more dry and matured. Hope it makes sense :-)

    Which do you prefer the mahogany 00015 or this Street master?

    • @ChrisEffort
      @ChrisEffort  2 года назад +2

      It’s a tie between the two, it comes down to what esthetics you like the most. They are so close spec-wise. StreetMaster uses katalox for fretboard and bridge, and 000-15 uses rosewood. That’s about it. I prefer the 12 fret 000-15SM of all Martin mahogany guitars I’ve tried.

    would you recommend this 000-15m streetmaster or the 00-15m? I think both are tremendous but cannot decide.

    • @ChrisEffort
      @ChrisEffort  2 года назад +1

      Hi Zac
      It’s a tough question. I sold my 00-15m and bought a 000-15m and I haven’t regretted that at all. The 000-15 is a bit less money than the StreetMaster and it comes with a hard case - although the gig bag that comes with the StreetMaster looks great. A few years back they came in a thin padded flappy really bad one. You’ll get better balance with the 000 shape - but it all comes down to esthetics taking the 00-15 out of the equation. Hope that was somewhat helpful. Take care

      No preference in particular. I enjoy both materials equally. They both represent great flavors for different styles. I would give a slight edge to spruce for being perhaps a bit more versatile. But the Martin 000-15’s are incredibly instruments.

    Love your vids. My hair drives me nuts too, but gotta keep it for the rockin’ vibes brooo.
    Got a question for you and your subscribers.
    I want to save up for a nice Martin. Ultimately want to end up with like 000-15M, 00-18, and a D28 (maybe even Modern Deluxe). Which one would you buy first? The one I want the most is probably the 00-18. But it’s tempting to just get the first one possible which is the 15 series.

    • @ChrisEffort
      @ChrisEffort  2 года назад

      Haha I feel ya Joe.
      I would probably go out and try all three and see which one speaks to you the most.
      They are all very different, but the most versatile would be the 000-15 or a 000-18. Any reason why you’d want a double O 18?

    • @joegarcia2323
      @joegarcia2323 2 года назад

      @@ChrisEffort I have a budget OM style guitar now and the size seems just fine. My thinking with the 00-18 is that since it’s a tad smaller and has a short scale, maybe it would be a nice daily driver, me being a smaller than average guy lol.
      You’re right for me to go play them because the 000-15m or 000-18 should meet my needs just fine, especially if I can only have one of them for a while.
      The playing and recording of your videos are really informative. The 00-15m, your new 000-15m and that Eastman E1D in particular. Thank you sir, keep up the beautiful work.

    • @ChrisEffort

      Hi Jason
      I don’t think the difference is very noticeable - even to identical 000-15’s can sound different. The StreetMaster I loaned for the video was incredibly resonant and lively, and even with old and grimy strings it sounds beautiful.
