- Reflection Canyon, Southern Utah at the lowest level of lake Powell in the past 14 years (April 2019). The low level of water uncovers more of the beautiful underlying canyon, existing there before Lake Powell was created. One of the most stunning locations in USA. In the video: hiking to the viewpoints above Lake Powell and Reflection Canyon, and boat trip to see the canyon from the lake.
Recorded April 2019 in 4K Ultra HD with Sony AX700 and DJI Osmo Pocket.

Faraway location, not many people get here. Starting from Escalante, Utah you drive 3 hours with 4WD/AWD to get to the trailhead, then hike 5-6 hours (no shade whatsoever in the heat) to reach the viewpoints over Reflection canyon. You spend the night sleeping on the rocks, and go back same way next day. Enjoying Reflection Canyon from the lake is another story, you can see that at the end of the video. Right now (August 2nd) the water is about 50 feet/15 meters higher than the level you see here!

We took a boat from Bullfrog area. The water level was pretty high 20 years ago. This year people say it’s low. We hiked to Rainbow Bridge. Utah never disappoints. Thank you, your dedication is priceless.

I was in the area in May. Ticcabo, Bullfrog area, water was flowing in some channels. But the flowers....square miles of flowers. Sego Millie's especially. In 32 yrs of Utah I never saw such carpets of flowers

The footage had that look of being behind a dam, the topography is very interesting and the footage shot off the boat was truly magic. I am also having fun with the Osmo pocket, learnt most of it and how to get decent results. Compliments as usual for excellent work.

This is surreal, we used to camp at Lone Rock and Bullfrog. A lady I used to know told me about these canyons hiking there when she was a young girl. Before they built the dam. 👍

certainly cold in April, gets very nice in the Summer, but then it is very hot for hiking

The red rocks of Utah are something that everyone should see.
At I-80 Coalville, eastbound to Wyoming you can see very great red Rock formations.
